1) The document summarizes the scale up of the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method in Koraput District, India over several years. It shows that SRI adoption has increased from 11 farmers using the method on 5.5 acres in 2006-2007 to 3,693 farmers using it on 1,419 acres in 2011.
2) Crop cutting trials showed higher yields with SRI for various rice varieties compared to conventional methods. For example, one farmer yielded 19.3 quintals per acre with SRI compared to 13.6 quintals with conventional line sowing.
3) Challenges to further SRI adoption include climate change reducing target areas and yields, pest attacks

zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).

12. Challenges
• Climate Change as a result of which farmers and area under SRI target
is reduced.
• Climatic aberration caused pest attack e.g. leaf blast and Gal midge
• Promotion of hybrid seeds, Line sowing and chemical use
campaigning by Govt
Learning
• Local seed varieties can be conserved
• Farmers need training and input support for organic practices.
• State level pressure Group required for policy change.
Recommendations –suggestions
• The Govt. has introduced line sowing method this year which provides
seed support (hybrid variety) to farmers along with package of
chemical fertilizers and pesticides which has created confusion among
farmers
• Threat to promotion of indigenous seeds and organic practices.
• SDTT partners can engage in Policy level dialogue with Govt. for
promotion of SRI & organic practices.
