METHODOLOGY
RESEARCH DESIGN
 The researcher will employ quantitative research to find
out the effect of parent’s occupation to the senior high school
student’s academic performance in San Antonino National
High School. According to Creswell (2022) quantitative
research is a systematic investigation that uses numerical data
and statistical analysis. It focuses on quantifying and analyzing
variables to explain, predict, or control phenomena. This
method will be used to measure and evaluate the effect of
parent’s occupation on the academic performance of students
at San Antonino National High School.
POPULATION AND SAMPLE
The subjects of this study were all senior high school students of San Antonino
National High School. The sample was selected from both Grade 11 and
Grade 12 students from different sections. Grade 11 has samples of 10
students each from the Blue, Green, and Red sections, giving a total of 30
students from a population of 110. Likewise, for Grade 12, 10 students were
selected from the White, Orange, Brown, and Yellow sections for a total
sample of 40 students from a population of 100. Hence, an overall sample of
60 senior high school students, from the different sections, was used to
ensure proportional representation.
SAMPLING PROCEDURE

This study will utilize a simple random sampling technique,
specifically selecting the Senior high students at San Antonino
National High School as respondents. Purposive sampling is
appropriate for this study as it ensures that only students who
meet the specific criteria-being in the Senior high Students are
included in the research. This method allows for a focused
investigation into the relationship between personality traits and
academic success within a well-defined group.
DATA GATHERING INSTRUMENT
 This research uses a survey questionnaire as its primary
data collection instrument. The questionnaire includes
open-ended questions to assess the parent’s
occupation among senior high school students, the
perceived effects of this relationship on academic
performance (social status, study habits, and classroom
participation), also students self-reported academic
standing before and during the involvement. Further
insights will be gathered through surveys and
questionnaires with selected students to explore the
effect of parents’ occupation.
DATA GATHERING PROCEDURES
 A letter of permission to conduct was presented
to the principal, head teachers and advisers of
Senior High School of San Antonino National High
School for approval. Upon approval, the
researchers floated a questionnaire to the
students to gather information with regards to the
effects of parent’s occupation to the academic
performance of senior high school students in San
Antonino National High School. The data will be
recorded, analyzed, and interpreted.
VALIDATION PROCEDURE
The content of the questionnaire was validated by
experts in occupation studies. Their insights and feedback
were incorporated to enhance the clarity, relevance, and
appropriateness of the questionnaire items.
 Influence of Family Social Status on Academic Performance of
Senior Secondary Students on Nsukka Education Zone, Enugu State
in Nigeria. Eric Chikweru Amadi (2019)
STATISTICAL TREATMENT
Various statistical methods were used for the assessment of the collected data so that
accurate results and interpretations were achieved. Descriptive statistics such as mean,
frequency, and percentage were used to summarize the perceived campus inclusivity and
academic performance of participants. Pearson's product-moment correlation coefficient was
thereby used to provide a measure of the extent of the relationship between perceived
campus inclusivity and academic performance. Potential differences in subgroups, such as
grade or parents' occupation, will also be analyzed if warranted by performing an
independent samples t-test. With one or all of the methods applied, it was meant to provide
the most comprehensive overview possible with respect to interpreting the data.
