You are required to complete the following tasks to an Industry Standard
Task 1 Read and understand all aspect of this assessment including instructions, plans, specifications
and marking requirements and standards before commencing.
Task 2 Complete the ‘Safety Signs ID’ questionnaire, the ‘Non-Verbal Communication’ questionnaire, JSA
(Job Safety Analysis) and Toolbox talk in Ready Skills.
Practical 1 Install quad, scotia, and colonial skirting to a skirting box.
Practical 2 Remove all skirting and architraves without damaging the substrate.
Task 3 Clean-up work site, materials, and tools.
Task - 1
Read through all the instructions and plan your sequence of work. Develop a system for
completing these tasks that is efficient.
Task - 2
Before starting you must complete:
o Safety sign quiz
o JSA
o Toolbox talk.
Practical - 1
Construct a frame as per the DiagramA and mount it centrally on a 600mm x 900mm offcut of
sheet flooring or similar.

Measure, cut, and install colonial moulding to the internal and external face of the frame as per
diagram B. Make sure to use stop-end mitres at point A and B, all scribes and mitres are tight,
and all sharp edges are arise.
Take a picture of your completed colonial mouldings before removing them carefully without
damaging them or the frame.
Repeat this process with quad and scotia moulding, making sure to document each and check
with the assessor before removing them.
Practical - 2
Remove all mouldings and linings without damaging them or the substrate.
Start with mouldings and remove them carefully with a chisel and a spreader block so as not to
crush any plasterboard or lining boards.
De-nail all mouldings and the frame.
Task – 3
All tools and equipment are to be cleaned, checked for faults, and stored correctly.
De-nail and return any reusable material to storage racks
Recycle any material too damaged to be repaired.

The work site must be left clean and free of hazards.

Assessment Conditions
Assessment will be conducted in a simulated work environment at CIT Bruce, under teacher supervision
always. The assessment will be stopped at any time if the Assessor deems it unsafe. Access to all
resources, manuals and standards are permitted. All mobile phones are to be switched off.
Materials Provided by CIT
All materials and tools required to complete the task will be provided.

Pencil, Pen, Personal protective equipment PPE and nail bag
Attempts
You may have at least two (2) attempts for this assessment.
If your first attempt is not successful, your teacher will discuss your results with you and will arrange
a second attempt.
If your second attempt is not successful, you may be required to re-enrol in this unit.
