CEMEA HISTORY
CEMEA means Training Centres for Active
Education Methods. The CEMEA movement was
born in France in 1936 with the aim of developing
democratic and participate behaviours.
After the war Cemea spread all over the world.
CEMEA IN THE WORLD
Today the Cemea movement is active in 29
European, African and American
countries, coordinated by the International
Federation with its headquarters in Paris, which since
1964 has the B status at the UNESCO and since
1972 a consultative status at the Council of Europe
and at the European Youth Forum in Brussels.
In Italy, the Cemea movement was born in 1950 and
adhered at the Italian Federation of CEMEA in 1974.
CEMEA VISION
CEMEA promotes the respect of people diversities,
believing in everyone's desire to better one self.
Making this opportunity accessible to each individual
is CEMEA’s main aim.
CEMEA MISSION
CEMEA’s educational activity, combined with the
international learning opportunities offered by the
European Union, support participation, intercultural
approach, local dimension and active citizenship
as basic elements for collective and individual
actions.
CEMEA DEL MEZZOGIORNO
CEMEA del Mezzogiorno is an ONLUS (non profit
organisation of social utility) placed in Rome and its
action deals with:
o disadvantaged young people,
o non formal education,
o training,
o learning mobility,
o the development of local communities,
o active methodology,
o active citizenship.
PUBLIC INVOLVED AND TOOLS
In its initiatives CEMEA del Mezzogiorno involves
children
teenagers
Adults
Youngsters
through play and recreational activities
and International Mobility projects
ACTIVITIES IN ITALY
 training stages for educators, teachers, animators;
 educative centres for children, teenagers and youngsters;
 artistic and cultural activities within social programs;
 holidays and spare time centres;
 international exchanges;
 workshops outside compulsory education;
 ecological and environmental education;
 exchanges with universities;
 national and international meetings and seminars;
 publishing activities (bulletins, books, reviews…)

INCLUSION STRATEGIES
All the International projects are realized with a particular attention to
inclusion of young people with less opportunities. Our 3 main targets in
the inclusion work are:
 JUSTice in TIME
A cooperation with the Office for Social Services for Minors of the Ministry of
Justice,about mobility learning as complementary tool for on probation
system. Only youngsters defined "ready" from social services staff will
participate
 AD HOC
A cooperation with local and national association taking care of youngsters
with light mental disability ( Asperger syndrome, autistic, down, light mental
deficiency…) already included in local paths of autonomy
 URBAN LESS
Youngsters with socio economic disadvantage backgrounds, with school
dropout and occasional jobs. Often they are immigrants of second
generation with cultural identity problem

  • 2. CEMEA HISTORY CEMEA means Training Centres for Active Education Methods. The CEMEA movement was born in France in 1936 with the aim of developing democratic and participate behaviours. After the war Cemea spread all over the world.

CEMEA IN THE WORLD Today the Cemea movement is active in 29 European, African and American countries, coordinated by the International Federation with its headquarters in Paris, which since 1964 has the B status at the UNESCO and since 1972 a consultative status at the Council of Europe and at the European Youth Forum in Brussels. In Italy, the Cemea movement was born in 1950 and adhered at the Italian Federation of CEMEA in 1974.
  • 4. CEMEA VISION CEMEA promotes the respect of people diversities, believing in everyone's desire to better one self. Making this opportunity accessible to each individual is CEMEA’s main aim.
  • 5. CEMEA MISSION CEMEA’s educational activity, combined with the international learning opportunities offered by the European Union, support participation, intercultural approach, local dimension and active citizenship as basic elements for collective and individual actions.

CEMEA DEL MEZZOGIORNO CEMEA del Mezzogiorno is an ONLUS (non profit organisation of social utility) placed in Rome and its action deals with: o disadvantaged young people, o non formal education, o training, o learning mobility, o the development of local communities, o active methodology, o active citizenship.
  • 7. PUBLIC INVOLVED AND TOOLS In its initiatives CEMEA del Mezzogiorno involves children teenagers Adults Youngsters through play and recreational activities and International Mobility projects

ACTIVITIES IN ITALY  training stages for educators, teachers, animators;  educative centres for children, teenagers and youngsters;  artistic and cultural activities within social programs;  holidays and spare time centres;  international exchanges;  workshops outside compulsory education;  ecological and environmental education;  exchanges with universities;  national and international meetings and seminars;  publishing activities (bulletins, books, reviews…)

  • 11. INCLUSION STRATEGIES All the International projects are realized with a particular attention to inclusion of young people with less opportunities. Our 3 main targets in the inclusion work are:  JUSTice in TIME A cooperation with the Office for Social Services for Minors of the Ministry of Justice,about mobility learning as complementary tool for on probation system. Only youngsters defined "ready" from social services staff will participate  AD HOC A cooperation with local and national association taking care of youngsters with light mental disability ( Asperger syndrome, autistic, down, light mental deficiency…) already included in local paths of autonomy  URBAN LESS Youngsters with socio economic disadvantage backgrounds, with school dropout and occasional jobs. Often they are immigrants of second generation with cultural identity problem
