A Nor'easter storm occurred between April 15-17, 2007 along the East Coast of the United States. Nor'easters typically happen 20-30 times per year between October and May when a low pressure system collides with cold Arctic air moving south. This storm brought heavy rain up to 30 cm in some areas, high winds up to 120 km/hr, snow in New England, and severe coastal flooding and erosion. The storm caused widespread damage including washed out beaches, fallen trees, destroyed bridges and power outages, leaving thousands homeless.
