There are eight planets that orbit our sun: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. We live on Earth, which takes 365 days to complete its orbit around the enormous star, the sun, at the center of our solar system. Each planet has unique characteristics, such as Mercury being the smallest planet and closest to the sun, Venus being the hottest with thick clouds, and Neptune being the farthest and coldest.
