Electrolyte replacement popsicle made with natural
ingredients
Problem
There are three main problems that our product solves.
1. Difficult to get proper hydration/ electrolyte replenishment
When athletes sweat they lose valuable electrolytes. Not having enough electrolytes in your body results in
impaired performance. Athletes need a convenient and versatile way for electrolyte replacement.
2. Versatile Hydration
While many companies sell products that can quickly hydrate and deliver electrolytes to athletes, very few
consider the unique and varied environments that athletes are performing in. Athletes need a product that is easy
to handle, especially when running. A normal popsicle would melt and be a mess. A large plastic drink bottle
would become cumbersome to hold. Athletes need something that is not only conveniently portable but able to
withstand the variety of extreme conditions they perform in.
3. Food Dyes/Excess Chemicals
Leading sports drinks brands have sacrificed the needs of actual athletes by making a product that is more soda
than a sports drink. Athletes need a healthy alternative. Leading brands disenfranchise actual athletes by filling
their products with high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavoring, and artificial coloring. Athletes need a healthy
alternative that they can feel good about fueling their body with.
Solution
PowerPop is a product that addresses the issues with sports hydration and offers:
1. Electrolyte Replenishment
PowerPop is the only sports popsicle for athletes. No other popsicle products on the market are infused with
electrolytes. PowerPop delivers the electrolyte replenishment to help athletes reach optimal performance.
2. Versatility
PowerPops are packaged in a portable otter-pop style pouch. They can be consumed frozen as a refreshing
popsicle, or as a beverage. They are easy to hold and carry while running and during athletic events. They can be
brought to events in a cooler for the whole team to enjoy.
The packaging prevents leakage until the product is consumed.
3. Health Conscious
PowerPops formula is a blend of all natural ingredients: 100% juice, water, honey, and salt. This natural formula
eliminates unnecessary food dyes and excess chemicals found in other formulas.
Market
While we plan initially target our product to runners, our ultimate goal is to expand our market audience to
include all athletes. Furthermore, we plan on selling our product to runners and athletes for personal use as well
as to organizations that cater to events for these markets. Running events and institutions that operate
competitive and recreational sporting events would additionally be markets targeted by our company. The
industries involving these markets are growing larger every year. Mordor Intelligence, a market-share advisory
firm, has predicted that the $852.7 million dollar sports drink market of 2017 will increase to $1135.2 million dollar
market by the year 2023. Our product takes advantage of this incredible growth.
While popsicles, sports drinks, and healthy drinks already exist, our product is the only product on the market that
combines the best of these products into a single product. The PowerPop sets itself apart from the competition by
combining together these unique attributes.
