This document discusses factors that influence an African American student athlete's decision to enroll at an historically black college or university (HBCU). It will examine their attitudes and decision making processes. The study aims to identify the key factors such as athletic reputation, academic reputation, proximity to home, affordability, and parents' alumni status. It will utilize surveys administered to student athletes to understand their college selection process and the influences of parents, teachers, and coaches. Reliability and validity testing will ensure the survey accurately measures their attitudes towards different HBCU options.
