FUNCTION- is an activity or purpose natural to
or intended for a person or thing.
COMMUNICATION-is the sending and receiving
of information and can be one-on-one or
between groups of people, and can be face-to-
face or through communication devices.

2.SOCIAL INTERACTION- communication allows
individuals to interact with others.
- used to produce social relationships; used to
develop bonds, intimacy, relations; used to
express preferences, desires, needs, wants,
decisions, goals, and strengths; used for giving
and getting information.

3.MOTIVATION- Communication motivates
or encourages people to live better.
-this is when the speaker’s purpose is to persuade
another person to change their behaviour,
attitude or opinion.
EXAMPLE:
3.a In a company, the boss has to encourage
his/her employees to do their best for the growth
of the company, like for example, in increasing the
sales of products.
4.Emotional Expression-
communication facilitates people’s
expression of their feelings and
emotions.

“ I need you in my life.”

“We pray for those who suffered a
