The power of
combining Omnistudio
and custom code
What is Omnistudio?
OmniStudio is a low-code development platform that allows businesses to
build custom applications quickly and easily. It helps to simplify the creation
of complex, industry-specific experiences on Salesforce. It is an all-in-one
platform that offers a range of tools and features to help businesses develop
and deploy custom applications without the need for extensive coding
knowledge.
Dataraptor
Integration procedure
Omniscript
Flexcard
There are many tables like this.
Omnistudio is supposed to reduce the development
time crazily. Is this true?
Can Omnistudio solve all the problems?
Should we abandon the custom code?
NO
But…
NO
Omnistudio is a powerful tool which DOESN’T
REPLACE the custom code, but complements it very
well and identifying the use cases for each tool is the
key.
Furthermore we need to remember that combining
them is another powerful option.
Options for combining Omnistudio and custom code
Flexcards and Omniscripts can be used on LWCs
Lightning Web Components can be used on Flexcards and Omniscripts
Elements from Omniscripts can be overridden by LWCs for extending
their logic
Apex code can be called from Omnistudio components
Integration procedures can be called from apex
So the key is to identify when each tool can be the
optimal or not, and make a design which takes the
advantage of each one of them.
Even if the first time can be a bit difficult, we shouldn’t
be scared of mixing Omnistudio and custom code.
For example, omniscripts and flexcards, in background,
THEY ARE LIGHTNING WEB COMPONENTS
So makes sense to mix then with LWCs, right?
An example
How to stay on top of
Salesforce releases?
● Salesforce releases updates three times a year: Spring, Summer, and Winter
● Release dates vary depending on your instance and the year, but generally, they happen
around February/March (Spring), June/July (Summer), and October/November (Winter).
You can find exact dates on: https://status.salesforce.com/
● Preview sandboxes provide early access to new features and let you test your
configurations before the production upgrade, about six weeks in advance.
Salesforce releases
● Each release may bring:
○ New features to optimise your processes
○ Enhancements to existing features based on feedback
○ Changes to existing functionality to improve efficiency or resolve bugs
○ Retirement of outdated features that are replaced by new ones
○ Enforcement of features to stay on top of security
● Visit the Release Updates page of your org to
prepare for changes that will be enforced
What to expect from each release?
How to prepare for releases?
● Read through the Salesforce release notes
● Follow and review Salesforce blogs and forums, such as:
○ Salesforce Ben
○ Reddit
● Complete the Release Highlights Trailhead modules and maintain your certifications
● Attend release readiness webinars hosted by Salesforce
● Use preview sandboxes to get early access to new features before they are rolled out to
production orgs
● Set up a team activity to prepare together!
● What are your favorite sources to stay up-to-date?
● Dynamic forms now support fields from related objects
● Add images and richt text in your dashboards - now available
in all editions and add up to 5 dashboard filters
● Use a Repeater component in screen flows - create a set of
fields and allow the user to input data for those fields multiple
times on the same screen
Exciting Spring ‘24 Updates
● Get 10 Einstein Conversation Insights
Licenses with Enterprise Edition

How do we get more women & talent into Salesforce?
Why does it matter?
● We must attract and develop women in tech or we are missing out
on half the population.
● Companies will be better equipped to meet the increasing demand
for tech talent when women become a substantial part of the
equation.
● We need to reduce biases as much as possible; teams designing,
developing and deploying new technologies, need to encompass the
world for which they are creating.
Network Bingo
● Find out who the phrases in the boxes apply to, and write down the name of
the person in the empty space below the phrase
● Each participant’s name can be used once per Bingo card
● BINGO = 1 horizontal, vertical or diagonal line of 5 boxes with a name
● When you got bingo, shout BINGO to win prizes
