The document presents a numerical investigation of power generation using diffuser augmented wind turbines, focusing on the effectiveness of a brimmed diffuser, or wind lens, which enhances turbine efficiency by creating a low-pressure region that increases mass flow rates. Various diffuser configurations were analyzed, revealing that the presence of a brim significantly augments torque and improves energy capture from wind, particularly with bumped and curved diffusers. Experimental validation of the numerical results showed a correlation between pressure distributions, confirming the advantages of using wind lens technology for wind power generation.
