Nearly half of the world's population lives on less than $2.50 a day, with over 1 billion living on less than $1.25, and 1 billion children worldwide living in poverty. Basic needs like adequate food, water, healthcare, and shelter are lacking for much of the world's population, with over 800 million lacking reliable access to food, 750 million to clean water, and 165 million children stunted due to malnutrition. Providing clean water, nutrition, healthcare, education, clothing, and shelter are identified as key ways to help reduce poverty.
