2. Gambling
Introduction
Gambling Addiction and Problem Gambling
To some people gambling is just a waste of time and money but to some it can be a
winning streak. Back then in the 1970s 30 55 years old was the typical age that
most people gambled but now the typical age is 17 70 years old. In the United States
the legal age to gamble is 21 in most casinos and in some Indian casinos the legal age
is 18. There are many ways to gamble there are casinos, online gambling and even
home gambling with family or friends. Gambling not only interferes with your
money it can also affect and causes problems with an individual s life. Gambling
addiction and problem gambling create physical, emotional, social and financial
problems in the lives of the gamblers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Internet gambling is easy to get hooked on. There are advertisements for casinos at
almost all of the major search engines and home pages (ex: yahoo, metacrawler,
excite etc.) Many of these advertisements claim that they have free gambling or
give away free money. For example one casino will give you $125.00 for a $50.00
deposit. Do you think they would really give you that money if they weren t
confident that you would get hooked and spend it all there or if they thought that
they wouldn t get it all back? Once they have lured you to their websites it is easy
for them to get your money. It seems a lot easier to spend virtual casino tokens
purchased with a credit card than it is to spend your actual hard earned cash at a
real casino. Another obvious problem with having online casinos is that children
have easy access to them. There is no way to check ID. Anyone with a credit card
number can play. Parents of children who gamble online are legally responsible for
the debt that their children accumulate. It is especially easy if the parents have
already been to that particular casino and set up an account. All the child would
need is a password and many computer operating systems have the option of saving
passwords and filling them in for the user. Young people are especially vulnerable to
Internet gambling. In virtually all studies of the rates of gambling problems at
various ages, high school and college aged individuals show the highest problem
rates, said

What is Management by Objectives
(MBO)?
MBO is difficult to define. Organizations useTracks performance different reasons.
In it in different ways and for broad terms, it may be stated that MBO is both a
philosophy and an approach of management. It is a process in which superiors and
subordinates sit together to identify the common objectives and set the

Get duly communicated to all who are concerned with it;
Align short term objectives to medium and long term objectives; and
MBO is a system in which specific performance objectives are determined through
participative approach. Progress towards objectives is periodically reviewed and
rewards determined accordingly.
In other words it refers to a formal, or moderately formal, set of procedures that
begins with goal setting and continues through performance review. The key to MBO
is that it is a participative

Through industrial development we have diminished our soil, ruined farmland, trees
and have caused extinction of various species. All of these natural resources took
over hundreds of millions years to form and Americans have destroyed them all for
the need to build more. David Brower a prominent environmentalist says we have
diminished our soil, fisheries, fossil fuels and we have changed the climate. We
caused the extinction of countless species by half. Over consumption has reached a
point of harming Americans health and the overall environment. According to John
De Graaf, David Wann and Thomas H. Naylor sixty nine acres of prime American
farmland are lost to development. Once you cut down and pave over farms the land is
gone forever. The very thing that humanity relies on is being taken for granted.
Americas increase in consumption does have benefits but the negative effects on the
environment, American health and family outweigh the positive. What once was an
abundance of natural resources is now becoming hard to find. The magnitude that this
type of industrial development has on the environment is irreversible. The damage
we are doing can never be undone. Through our constant need for more we have
managed to change the climate. American Farmland Trust points out how 24 million
acres of agricultural land has been developed since 1982. In Bloomington Minnesota
on over 100 acres stands the Potomac Mills

Choosing a charity wisely can be a challenge. With so many places and ways to
donate your time and money, you need to use your head more than your heart to be
sure your dollars are well spent. Research into the Ronald McDonald House
Charities of Eastern Iowa has proven to be a worthy cause. Iowa s Ronald
McDonald House opened in 1985 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City,
although the concept has been around since 1973. The idea of a home away from
home started in Philadelphia when Fred Hill, from the Philadelphia Eagles football
team, learned his daughter, Kim, had leukemia. The team did fundraising for Kim and
other sick children, raising money for the first house in 1974. This first house had

Some of the events that have been done are, runs/walks, golf outings, bike rides,
and marathon dances. Otherwise, you may attend some of these fun events in
your area. One of the easiest, no cost ways to donate is to collect pull tabs from
cans. These tabs are shipped to a recycling center, and the Ronald McDonald House
receives money based on how many pounds of pull tabs are collected. About
$14,000.00 is raised a year through this process for the Eastern Iowa Chapter. A
minimal concern of this charity could be, there are so many programs connected
with the Ronald McDonald name. This could be confusing as to where your
donated monies are actually going. If you want your donation to be specific you
will need to figure out how to make that happen. Becoming a donor to the Ronald
McDonald House Charities of Eastern Iowa can be a very fulfilling opportunity. This
organization has so many ways to contribute to changing the lives of sick children.
You have already donated by eating at McDonald s restaurants, why not step it up to

7. Essay On Racial Profiling
According to research obtained by Cornell University scientists, 92% of Americans
watch TV, 87% read newspapers, and 81% specifically watch local or national
televised news stations...
Hate, by definition, is a deep and emotional extreme dislike that can be directed
against individuals, entities, objects, or ideas. Hatred is often associated with
feelings of anger and disposition towards hostility. Unfortunately, hatred in America
is publicized, promoted, and praised upon. As if people weren t hateful enough as
to so, the mass media plays a vitals role in the [developing] minds of Americans;
most dramatically in times of war or protest. I am overwhelmed with disgust when

It is detrimental to the American society to possess prejudice mindsets that alter our
viewing and acceptance of those who are poles apart.
The mass media selectively promotes racial profiling. The assumptions driving
terrorism profiling are not any different than street level profiling in that, a
particular crime (in this case, terrorism) is most expected to be committed by
members of a particular religious, ethnic, or racial group and that the members of
that group (in this case, Muslims) are, in general, likely to be implicated in that
manner of criminal activity...These assumptions are highly defective. The
assumption that terrorist acts are inevitably perpetrated by Arabs or that the
architect, of a terrorist act, is likely to be Islamic is a faulty assumption. While all
the men, believed to have been, involved in the September 11th hijackings were of
Arabic nationality, Richard Reid, who on December 22, 2001, attempted to ignite a
volatile device on a trans Atlantic flight, was a British citizen of Jamaican ancestry.
This furthermore coincides with my line of reasoning that extremists exist throughout
all cultures. In fact, prior to September 11th the deadliest act of terrorism on United
States soil was initiated by [Oklahoma City bomber] Timothy McVeigh. Even non
Arabs like John Walker Lindh, a Californian, can be linked to the Taliban, al Qaeda

The hardest job that I have ever had in my life that required a lot of my time and
effort, is raising my sons . I was and I still am a single mother of three boys, Tunji
(my oldest), Jaylon and Jaleel (my twins). This has and is a fulltime job, but I am
not going to speak about the present, only my past life of raising my three sons. I
have always worked but there was a time that I had to stop working in order to
focus on my twins. I knew from the age of 1 year old, something just wasn t quite
right with their behavior and cognitive development was lacking in a lot of areas.
For example; not talking, just babbling and pointing at objects, loud noises caused
them to shut down and cover their ears, lining up objects and any little disturbance
in their routine caused them to have a tantrum or screaming fit. It was so hard
trying to get answers from doctors, their favorite thing to say to me was it s a twin
thing they will grow out of it. This was the beginning of a long hard road. The
three most enjoyable things that I liked about this job is: Investigating, finding out
what was wrong with my sons? Why are they behaving in this manner? I was
relentless in finding out and I didn t stop until I received all the right answers. I
finally started getting answers, first I found out that they had a sleeping disorder, so
they was put on sleeping pills, my thought was YES, I will know get sleep! The
second diagnoses was ADHD, which explained the bouncing off the walls, floors

ESSAY OUTLINE Introductory Paragraph: General Statement: A common
misconception among adults is that extracurricular activities interfere with their
children s education and have no overall benefit, but recent research and studies
beg to differ. Claim 1: Students should be engaged in extra curricular activities
because it instills in them valuable life skills and character traits needed for a
successful future. Claim 2:Students should participate in extra curricular activities
as doing so would make it easier for them to get into the post secondary education
or workplace they desire. Claim 3: Involvement in extra curricular activities should
occur among students because it acts as a pathway to better grades. Thesis: Students
should be involved in extracurricular activities as they assist in strengthening both
their academic and character development, leading to future success. Body
Paragraph One: Topic Sentence (Claim 1): Students should be part of
extracurricular activities because it provides for them important life skills and
character traits needed for future success. Evidence: One important benefit would be
the building of solid relationship and interpersonal skills, especially in team oriented
clubs and activities. They allow for the development of working skills, in addition to
interpersonal and people skills. Analysis: Many extracurricular activities involve
working with other peers to achieve a common goal. In the process of doing so,
students learn
10. The Social And Political Causes Of The Haitian Revolution
The Haitian Revolution is based on the political purpose that France had when they
fought to possess Saint Domingue (now called Haiti). France, like other empires at
the time, was trying to extend its wealth and power. Therefore, possessing Haiti,
having a lot of gold, sugar, coffee, indigo and others were one way to be strong and
powerful. Being driven by the profits that Haitiwere emanating, African slaves were
continuously brought to Haiti, first to replace the Aboriginals that had died
previously, but also to increase their profits. This led to the slaves outnumbering the
French colonizers. Later on, the free people of color were demanding more right to
the French government and after their refusal, the slaves and the free people of color
revolted which led to the Haitian revolution (Simpsons 1942, 487). The French
colonizers were already struggling about the equality between themselves because
there was a hierarchy present within the White community. Moreover, what created a
reaction to help slaves to revolt was the religious ceremony performed at Bois
CaГЇman by the Maroon voodoo priest Dutty Boukman, which was attended by
representative slaves from several plantations (Laguerre 1989, 1). Boukman called
the help of the spirits to revolt against the white colonists. The revolution of Haiti in
1804 was a social and political uprising in the French Colony of Saint Domingue.
Voodoo rapidly became Haiti s way out of slavery, as it helped them reunite together

For Colored Girls is comprised of seven women who represented a different shade
of the rainbow. The colors are brown, red, yellow, white, green, orange and blue.
Their costumes and make up transformed each of them and were symbolic of the
color their character embodied. The ensemble acting made all of their roles of equal
importance, without one dominating the other. These women together formed a bond

Two of the biggest wind energy companies in the world are in Denmark named
Vestas and Siemens Wind Powerand contributed a lot to the energy sector of
Denmark. Nearly 33% of the energy consumption in Denmark is through wind
energy[3] and according to the latest energy strategy Denmark plans to increase this
percentage to 50% by 2020[4] which would lead to 40% reduction in CO2 emissions
as compared to 1990.
Onshore wind in Denmark is around 4.9 5.6 m/s at a height of 50m while offshore
wind is around 8.5 9.0 m/s at 50m height[5]. Onshore wind technology is almost two
times less expensive than installing offshore wind and is the cheapest form of
renewable energy and the most mature technology in the renewable industry.
Denmark are one of the few countries that are exporting wind energy to their
neighboring countries which helps them because whenever there is no wind they can
run on the electricity provided by the neighboring countries(Germany Sweden
Norway) and similarly they can also provide electricity to their neighbors whenever
there is more energy production.
The present installed wind capacity is 4,855MW and provide almost 6.6TWh of
energy[6]. The significant increase in the installed capacity is mainly because of the
offshore power plants like HornsRev 2, Rodsand 2 and Anholt wind farm which
shows that despite the offshore technology being more expensive Denmark is still
investing in this technology which shows acceptance from both

The digital microscope Keyence VHX 5000 is a method, which is easy to handle
and supports research with high resolution images and the calculation of 3D
surface models. Several functions make it easy and quick to work with: The 3D
function also allows clear 2D images of a rough surface, because all levels are
focused automatically and a sharp image of all levels will be created. This
function makes it easy to analyse deep cuts, which can be only partially focused in
light microscopy or electron microscopy. To calculate a 3D surface model the
lower and upper border of the depth of interest has to be determined, by focusing on
these levels. Between these borders a level difference of five microns were chosen.

To avoid steps between the different levels, the edges will be rounded. Therefore a
minimal resolution of five microns is valid for the cut mark measurements, although
the software allows measurements till to decimals because of its logarithm to
calculate the surface. In this dissertation, all measurements are fully specified.
However, a less accuracy of values less than five microns must not be forgotten.
Higher resolutions till one micrometre are also possible, but the number of scanned
levels is restricted. Therefore it is possible to analyse fine cut marks in a higher
resolution, but in this case, cuts were up to 1 mm deep and a smaller resolution is
sufficient. Using this resolution, the ends of cuts, which are very flat, were excluded
because their size is approximately under 15 microns and therefore inaccuracies in
measurement increase, which might influence the

16. Isaac Asimov s Three Laws Of Robotics
1.1Introduction to Robotics
Robotics is a branch of engineering that involves the conception, design, manufacture,
and operation of robot s. This field overlaps with electronics, computer science,
artificial intelligence, mechatronics, nanotechnology, and bioengineering.
Science fiction author Isaac Asimov is often given credit for being the first person
to use the term robotics in a short story composed in the 1940s. In the story, Asimov
suggested three principles to guide the behavior of robots and smart machines.
Asimov s Three Laws of Robotics, as they are called, have survived to the present:
1. Robots must never harm human beings.
2. Robots must follow instructions from humans without violating rule 1.
3. Robots must protect themselves without violating the other rules.
Robot is defined as a mechanical design that is capable of performing human tasks or
behaving in a human like manner. Building a robot requires expertise and complex
programming. It s about building systems and putting together motors, flame sensors

Some may question our motives for choosing this moment to embark on creating a

1. During a summer day the air temperature goes through the most fluctuations. It is
much easier for the ambient air temperature to increase and decrease rapidly. It takes
much longer for the much denser ground to both heat up and cool down. During the
day the sun s radiation heats up the air in the atmosphere. This happens for many
hours and causes large increases in temperature. The air temperature increases as this
occurs, whereas the ground takes much longer. Additionally when the sun sets the
temperature begins to drop. The air temperature drops rapidly, but the ground
temperature does not. This is due to the insulating properties that the ground
possesses. Therefore it can keep a certain temperature for longer and is more resistant

Theses similar patterns do not mirror the patterns observed in the summer data. The
primary reason for this is due to the fact that the reduced amount of sun from a lower
aspect and less time in the sky means that both ecosystems don t have time to be
affected. Both soil temperatures sit around the same average since there is no real
exposure to sun and both are insulated. The natural density of dirt and other
contributions to the soil insulate it from temperature changes. The air temperature in

22. Effects Of Hormones On Learning Performance
As an adolescent, hormones are raging and as their brains are continuing to develop
hormones play a big role in their future learning and memory. The hormonal
fluctuations of adolescent stress coupled with their gonadal hormone ups and downs,
impact their learning capabilities and memory retrieval. Males with the predominance
of testosteronelearn in a unique way and exhibit certain advantages like spatial
learning over females. Females on the other hand, with the predominance of estrogen
exhibit their own unique learning capabilities and styles which is all dependent on
their estrous cycles, pregnancy, and postpartum. These differences between males and
females have the potential of greatly impacting curriculum and teaching.

There is a lot of evidence of sex differences in learning and memory, particularly in
spatial tasks, although there are species differences.
Estrogens appear to enhance spatial learning and memory. As previous mentioned,
there are sex differences in hippocampus dependent cognition tasks, implying that
there are sex hormones involved. There is sufficient evidence demonstrating that
estrogen interacts with the reproductive cycle and in turn modulates hippocampal
learning, memory and neurogenesis. However, the way in which estrogen effects
learning and memory, from adolescence to adulthood, is dependent upon the type of
estrogen, the duration, timing and dose of treatment, and the influence the effects of
estrogen had on cognition and neurogenesis. There seems to be a correlation
between spatial learning, estrogen and ones life cycle (age). Typically spatial
learning is favorable in males, however, in terms of females spatial learning differs
based on ones estrous cycle. The reason for this is because as both estradiol and
progesterone fluctuate during ones estrous and menstrual cycle, each hormone
contributes differently to learning and memory. In recent studies examining the
relationship between estradiol and learning and memory, it was found that
motherhood enhanced spatial learning and memory.
23. Defining Leadership And My Opinion
1.In defining leadership and in my opinion, I would have to say that it is a method
that people use to encourage others to achieve a common goal by always
performing tasking the proper way. What I mean by my definition is that every day
one is placed in a position to alter from standard procedures. Whether it be briefing
the Command about something important or fixing a million dollar diesel engine,
there exists a time in many circumstances where slight deviation from procedures
will make the job easier. This is where leadershipcomes into play. A leader that has
instilled a firm foundation of ensuring those under them are aware of the implications
of taking a shortcut and are properly taught how to do tasking, will not only be even...

The OIC told me that he would have rather the unit fail the inspection than to see me
allow someone to take a short cut. This immediately taught me a valuable lesson to
not ever take the easier route just because it is easy. Meaning, had I took the extra
few minutes to have my personnel properly stow the equipment not only would the
job been officially complete, but the lesson I would have taught the junior personnel
would have been more important than the score of the inspection.
3.The first area that I am going to work toward altering is under the Challenge the
process practice. In the area of Challenging people to try out new and innovative
ways to do their work is an area that I thought I was excelling in. As per the LPI
report, that is not the case. I gave myself a higher score than I actually received.
Even the comments that were left stated that I needed to be a little more open
minded. In my job most tasking is driven by a procedure or there is a manual
somewhere that will drive one to a decision. This sometimes leads me in a direction
to repair the problem at hand and move on to the next problem. I often do this
without asking for any insight from those working for me. Effective immediately I
am going to cease and desist this action. If time permits
24. Acute Care Facilities
After working in a long term and acute care facility, I saw many differences that
would explain one facility to be better than the other. From working in a long term
facility for two years, working in an acute facility like the hospital shows more
experience to a nursing student than a place where it involves too much patients
given and low acuity. In a long term care facility you also see the same patients over
and over, which gives some experience to the real deal but with limitations of nursing
interventions. While this is true about long term facilities, acute facilities help
nursing students learn more at the register nurselevel such as using more intravenous
therapy and constantly flushing those saline locks , as well as performing actual...

Sometimes it might be difficult to get all the patient s blood pressure readings but
if you know a patient suffers from hypertension, orthostatic hypotension, and other
cardiovascular disease, as well as kidney disease you should at least try do one or
two, especially differencing between systolic and diastolic readings. Doing so can
help reassure the blood pressure is accurate to the when the aide took the blood
pressure or even if the nurse suspects that a blood pressure reading might be
incorrect or inaccurate, or other times to see if a medication took effect. Using
evidence based practice on this topic will help support my findings statistically. The
article given below demonstrates how taking an automated blood pressure can
sometimes be beneficial but easily influenced by movements, on the other hand,
manual blood pressure can be more beneficial because you could hear and see from
the sphygmomanometer the systolic and diastolic reading. The results of the article
came to a conclusion that using both methods the only reading significantly different
is the systolic pressure, however, the diastolic pressure was influenced but not as
much as the
25. Meaning Of Metaphysical Poetry
INTRODUCTION The word meta means after and so in simple terms ,
metaphysical means after physical . Metaphysics cover a wide range of topics from
religious to consciousness. It is all about exploration and philosophy. Samuel Johnson
first coined the term metaphysical poetry in his book lives of the most eminent
English poets. Metaphysical poetrycan be divided broadly in two parts. They are
love poems and religious poems. The habit of writing both these type of poetry is
derived from John Donne , who in his first phase of life wrote love poems in during
his later life wrote religious poems. The metaphysical poetsare known for their ability
to surprise the reader with the help of conceit, paradoxical images, colloquial
language,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example in the poem, The definition of love , the poet makes a series of
paradoxical assertions that pose a riddle. It invites the reader to identify the nature
of the love of which its speaks. The early stanza suggest love for god. The second
half is related to love between man and woman.
We can also see allegory in Marvell s poetry. One such example is Bermudas .
Bermuda is an allegorical poem of forty iambic tetrameters rhyming in couplets.
The poem is in 3 parts a four line introduction describing a small boat; a central
section of 32 lines consisting of the song sung by the sailors on the boat , in which
the Bermudas are represented as an earthly eden and again a four line conclusion.
Bermuda is an island in the West Indies. They were often referred to as earthly
paradise in the early seventeenth century. Again the image from the small boat to
the song plays with two traditions. A) In Homer s Odyssey , Odysseus is advised
that if he wishes to sail past the sirens safely he must plug his men s ears with the
help of wax and have himself tied to the mast so that he is not seduced by the
charm of their choices. B) In Petrarchan lyrics, a man s life is often likened to a ship
sailing through storms until he can reach the harbor the love of his mistress
26. The Importance Of Education In Post-Secondary Education
There are basic skills that students learn in high school such as reading and writing.
However, there are many skills courses that are unavailable for academic students to
learn like home economics, teamwork skills, and financial literacy because it may
not fit into their schedule, or there are no courses focusing on those skills. Thus,
many students feel unprepared to face the real world and post secondary education.
Many students with a low socioeconomic status graduate without basic skills because
they are behind even before starting schoolas a child and then not getting
encouragement from parents and other factors. The two major reasons that have an
impact on students not achieving basic skills are socioeconomic background and the
limited skills that are taught in courses offered to students. Firstly, many students
living in low socioeconomic areas have a higher chance of graduating high school
without basic skills. Since low socioeconomic status corresponds with low
educational achievement, many student s parents did not do well in school or
dropped out before graduating. Therefore, most parents will have minimal rules and
expectations regarding grades and attendance. Their family may also be dealing
with other problems and may not be able to focus on their children s success at
school. Also, students may have the responsibility of being the primary caretaker for
their siblings and may be too tired to their school work after taking care of them.

Vygotsky (1896 1934) stated this idea by describing that Apart from nature,
everything around the world, including culture is based on human imagination

perceive things in new and different ways, gaining knowledge from past exercises
and relating those experiences to figure out how to co op with new circumstances. He
also explains the creativity as thinking along strange lines and breaking boundaries,
utilising non conventional ways to deal with the issues, going more distant than the
given information and making something new or unique . Being artistic empowers
children to make relationships with one learning areas to another and develop their
knowledge in educational settings. This area incorporates music, dance, role play
and creative play (Sharp, 2001). Creative arts are the experiences that affect children
s creativity through dance, music, visual arts and dramatic play (Mills,

Many Death row inmates endure a plethora of years within a prison, the majority of
the time in solitary confinement with no social interaction, very little exposure to
the environment, and in a room with bare walls or the necessities: a bed, sink, and

Prisoners sit awaiting their execution day for years. Through my research there has
been an abundance of evidence examining the situation of whether or not this is
ethical/moral. These questions have been addressed, but my research looks at it

person either committed the crime or did not. Usually with these cases there is not a
great deal of uncertainty. On the other hand with capital cases, exoneration count is
carefully examined and the trials are conducted in much larger terms. Some of the
obvious reasons are due to that fact that the trial involves someone s life, but also
due to the fact that evidence has to be pristine in order to do this. Because of this,
many death row inmates are incarcerated for years on end in order for the justice
system to confirm that it is indeed the true perpetrator. Throughout the inmate s prison
sentence during the variety of appeals, many inmates develop mental conditions,
some even go insane. The most eminent example of this is the case of Leroy Nash.
Nash was convicted for multiple counts of murder and armed robbery and was
sentenced to death. After 80 years of awaiting his execution, Nash died in prison
due to natural causes (Rapaport, N.D.). Nash was said to have many mental health
issues that were enhanced while he was incarcerated. He was placed in solitary
confinement for the majority of his sentence for twenty three hours a day with one
hour of sunlight. This is an issue that arises with death row: due to the appeals and
triple checking of all of the evidence, many inmates are incarcerated for an extended
period of time. Is the death penalty the

Abstract
Information and communication technology (ICT) is most important part of
modern education system. It is highly beneficial for the improvement of students
several aspect of knowledge, skill and attitudes. The study focused in use of ICT
with respect to students of class nine and ten from secondary schools of
Kathmandu, Nepal. Responses of 106 students were taken and data has analyzed by
percentage and Mann Whitney U test. It was found that most of the students of that
level are weakly using technology and public school students were poorer in
several measured items even boys and girl students were not differ in the use of
ICT. It is important to accomplish so many properties by several stakeholders for
proper use of it in their learning.
Key words: information and communication technology, Use of ICT 1.Introduction
Information and communication technology (ICT) is modern conception in the field
of education. It makes easy to understand new concepts, knowledge, skill related to
daily life circumstances. Education system has been affected by technology (Adu

new concepts in teaching learning process. So use of ICT in learning has typical role
for students motivation and learning. Developed country has good practice in the

31. Relationship Between God And God
The relation between nature (phusis) and God (theos) in early Greek philosophy is
almost one in the same. Homer and Hesoid were the first Greek philosophers to
make the connection between God and nature. They made connections to the birth of
nature simultaneously being the birth of the gods and thus, forever connecting the
two. Homer also gave the idea that Ocean is the creator of all gods and things in the
world which goes with Thales monist worldview of that basic nature was created by
one element, water. For ancient Greek philosophy, gods are seen as everything
including nature and so, nature is divine. As with nature being divine the Greeksnot
only worship the supernaturalanthropomorphic gods but also nature.
Homer and Hesoid were the first to claim the connection between nature and God as
they argued that the Gods created nature. In Hesoid s work Theology he states that
all things created have originated from Gaia (Mother Earth) as she was the first
God. After her came Ouranos (Heaven) and they created the Titians who created the
Olympians and Tartaros (Underworld). Hesoid makes the connection that the three
primordial gods all have the names of regions of the physical world (Earth, Heaven
and Underworld) so it is confident to say that the creation of these gods was
simultaneously the creation of the world and so the creation of nature. Homer on the
other hand, believed that the god Ocean was the first who created the gods and
nature. Another famous Greek

In your opinion, what changes should be made to accommodate further overseas
expansion?
As eBay expands into more foreign markets, eBay will have to further evolve and
allow for a more country centralized execution of its policies and manager control. I
can certainly see that in countries that have a high religious influence, such as the
Muslim dominated hierarchy, religious dictates will control how eBay presents
itself. In the Koran it states that you are not allowed to profit off another. This holds
true in examples like banking. However in some democracies eBay is being stifled
in its ability to require payments thru PayPal, as the book states an example of
Australian government, curtailing eBay s ability to require payment thru PayPal
(Griffin, 2012). To further accommodate expansion into these diversified markets
eBay will of course have to follow religious precepts, government regulations and
allow for more targeted products. It would be unwise of eBay to allow many items
that are permitted in democracies and free thinking countries to be purchased in a
more conservative nation. In the conservative nations, the potential buyers can
still buy off eBay USA. This type of targeted selling of their system has created eBay

they are faced with a decision that will either develop their growth as a character, or
emphasize how much of that character has remained the same throughout the story.
William Forrester from Finding Forrester reflects these types of characters, as he is

39. Essay Fate or Choice
Destiny is no matter of chance. It s a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited
for, it is a thing to be achieved, quoted by William Jennings Bryan. One of the most
debated questions in history is whether our lives are ruled by fate or by own
choice. William Shakespeare brings this question into play in his production
Romeo and Juliet. Although fate does seam to be ruling over every situation, I
believe that choice has more to do with this story then it s really credited to. Even in
the opening lines, this play drills into your head the inevitable outcome of the two
lover s deaths. When the chorus uses the phrase Star crossed lovers (I, 1,6) it clearly
shows William Shakespeare s thoughts on what killed Romeo and Juliet. This... Show

I would have strongly suggested to Romeo to slow everything sown. If he would

Another flaw is that the string needs to be taken fully out of the hoodie. This
makes the process longer than it should. The next DIY solution uses a straw to re
thread the drawstring in a hoodie. In order to use this method, the string needs to be
fully removed. Thorin Klosowski explains the steps to use this method. After fully
removing the string from the hoodie, place it within the straw and staple it in place.
Now take the straw, which has more flexibility than a coat hanger wire, and weave
it back through the drawstring path. Once again this method has flaws. Even though
straws are common household products, not every house has these on hand. Plus, if
one is trying to fix their garment, why would they put a staple through it in order to
re thread the drawstring? The third DIY solution uses a safety pin and is explained
on Lifehacker by Patrick Allan. Once again with the drawstring fully removed, attach
the safety pin to the string by poking the pin through the material. Now that the pin is
attached, use this pin as a guide to feeding the string back through the material little
by little. This method requires a lot of time and patience and the string has to be fully
removed. With the variety of DIY solutions and the widespread pain of the drawstring
coming out, few people have developed other solutions. One solution, that already is
patented approved, requires the entire drawstring to be removed. According to the

His public funeral followed five days later at the Richard Nixon Presidential
Library and Museum in his hometown of Yorba Linda, California. In keeping with
his personal wishes, Nixon s funeral was not a full state funeral, though his body did
lie in repose in the Nixon Library lobby prior to the funeral services. Nixon suffered a
cerebral vascular accident (a stroke) on April 18 at his home in Park Ridge, New
Jersey, and was taken to New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center. After an initial
favorable prognosis, Nixon slipped into a deep coma and died four days later. His
body was flown to Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, Orange County, California,
the presidential plane used as Air Force One while Nixon was in office. His body
was transported to the Nixon Library and laid in repose. A public memorial service
was held that evening, attended by world dignitaries and all five living presidents.
Nixon s wife, Pat, had died ten months earlier on June 22, 1993. This was the first
funeral for a U.S. president since Lyndon B. Johnson in 1973. Nixon presided over
President Johnson s funeral, as Nixon was the U.S. president at that
42. Costa Rica Comparison
Costa Rica is an absolutely beautiful country. It is full of tropical flowers, trees,
fruits, and animals. The waters are the bluest of blue and the landscape is the
greenest that I have ever seen. There are also beautiful volcanos and mountain
ranges throughout Costa Rica. It was extremely fascinating to me how different
Costa Rica is compared to the United States not only in looks but also in culture
and history. Geography While in Costa Rica my team visited the cities of San Jose,
Limon, Talamanca, and Puerto Viejo. All of these cities lie on the southeastern side
of Costa Rica next to the Caribbean Sea. The differences in the beaches was
extremely interesting to me. While we were in Talamanca, the beach was fairly dirty
but private. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here in the United States our culture is fairly consistent. When one visits another
state there may be some differences in the way things are done, but definitely not
drastic differences in culture. While my team was in Costa Rica I felt as if I had
visited three different countries. The cultures of San Jose, Talamanca, and Puerto
Viejo are completely different. When my team arrived in San Jose the first thing
that I noticed was the culture. It was completely different from the United States.
The people were extremely inviting and accepting. The city was not as loud as a
city in the United States either. There were no sirens or horns honking. In fact,
most cars were off the road by about eight o clock in the evening. According to
Pedro, our guide and translator, most Costa Rican s go to sleep around nine in the
evening and start their day around five in the morning. Talamanca was extremely laid
back. It reminded me a lot of a Mennonite community. Most people in the village did
not drive cars but instead rode horses. Ninety percent of their food is home grown
including fruits, vegetables, and butter. There is a truck that comes through the
village every morning with chicken and fresh eggs, but other than that their meat is
caught. The people of Talamanca look out for each other. It is extremely community
oriented, but also nature oriented. For example, while the team was walking on the
beach we stopped

wide array of business level strategies, corporate level strategies, international level

comes to beer sales. Even if Anheuser Busch beers aren t the cheapest, they still are
bought for their quality and Anheuser Busch has gained tremendous market share
for this. As for their focus, Anheuser Busch focuses on a broad segment of
customers producing a variety of beers for a variety of budgets to suit all

44. Essay on Baroque Music
Baroque Music
In 1600 a new style of music began to evolve, this form of music was later to be
called Baroque. Baroque music was very different to the music before its time such
as medieval and early renaissance music and the development of new harmonic and
melodic lines added difference in pace and variation to the compositions giving them
a new shape and form. The structure of the music also changed, different forms such
as fugues and cannons developed and different instruments were introduced.
There were many composers that wrote music throughout the baroque era, some more
significant than others but each contributing a large amount to the development
throughout this period.

Handel s father disapproved of his composing wanting him to study law; however
Handel s intentions were strongly pointed in the direction of his musical talent.
Handel became very much involved in the Opera scene developing in London at this
time and became key to it s development. After leaving Germany he spent a
significant amount of time in Florence, Rome, Naples and Venice and in this time
he studied with other influential artists such as ArcangeloCorelli. He then left Italy
in 1710 and moved to Hanover; here he was given the job of director of music to
George Louis, the Elector. Handel was considered as one of England s most
influential composers and after his death in 1710 he was buried in Westminster Abbey.
Johann Sebastian Bach was born on March 21st l685 and died in 1750, he was said
to have a great ability of bringing the different forms and styles of baroque music to
perfection and this helped him stand out as a significant composer during the
baroque era and forward till today. Bach came from a family with a large amount of
musical history making him well known in his home land of southeast Germany. It
was clear that Bach was considered a powerful composer because he was still
dominant to the developments made on the baroque style even though he
45. Zindel s Use of Literary Devices in The Pigman Essay
Zindel had a Pigman just like John And Lorraine who helped him through his life
and embraced him to be the talented author he really is. He worked first as a
technical writer at a chemical company then as a high school chemistry teacher. As
he taught he continued to write plays, Marigolds of his plays was soon turned into
a television show. A children s book editor from Harper and Row asked Zindel if he
wanted to be a writer and he accepted. He soon came out with The Pigmana Story
about two teenagers that have an unlikely friendship with an old man. Paul Zindelwas
born on May 15th 1936 on Staten Island, New York. When John and Lorraine started
messing around with Mr.Pignati all of their lives went from faulty to terrible. This

Lorraine s cage is her mother saying that she is not beautiful; and Mr.Pignati s is
the grief of his recently deceased wife. Through their friendship they help each
other come out of their cages like Mr.Pignati complimenting on Lorraines
appearance and how he appreciates John for who he is. John and Lorraine also
help Mr.Pignati by having fun with him and helping him forget about his dead
wife. They can only help each other for so long though after the party that John and
Lorraine throw Lorraine is back in her cage from the constant remarks her mother
makes and the disappointment. John is also back in his cage because he is now
looked down upon from his parents for the party and his father had higher
expectations for him. Mr.Pignati is also back in his cage, after finding out that
John and Lorraine had betrayed him by throwing a party without his permission
and smashing his collection of pigs, he is back in a depression that is the worst it
has ever been. The author also uses the monkeys in the zoo to describe their
relationship. There are three monkeys in particular in the zoo that just keep on
hugging each other. We must have looked just like three monkeys. The Pigman,
John, and me three funny little monkeys (Zindel, 8). Most of the symbolism
happens in the zoo; which is a very important place for the pigman. Zindel also uses
lots of foreshadowing in his book. In the beginning of the book John says I couldn t
stand the miserable look on

Diversity cultivates a setting that appreciates people s differences and exploits the
potential of all a business s workforce. It is now unlawful to not employ a worker
due to race, age, or gender. In order to produce a philosophy that backs diversity, your
management must be committed and have education with training. You must
sufficiently control workforce and organizational requirements for making a diverse
workplace. Find out what your employees are worried about and then management
can arrange a focus group to help determine how to solve those problems.
Administrative and management commitment is vital for diversity efforts. High
