My second year project involved designing a communal building within Le Corbusier's Unite d'Habitation in Marseille to bring residents together. The building is split into apartments accessed by central corridors, with an internal street on the 3rd and 4th floors. I proposed a library on the internal street, a communal building offering services for residents and visitors of all ages, to help foster community among the residents who either love or hate the unique design of the "vertical city". During my first two years of study, I gained an understanding of the design process by drawing most of my work by hand.
