This document contains summaries of several design projects including:
1. A residential space made from old airstreams and recycled materials that uses sustainable design.
2. A corporate headquarters for a magazine that takes cues from Duchamp's readymades and emphasizes the magazine's process.
3. A modern elegant hotel restaurant that uses curved pathways and materials to guide customers through the space.
4. A dorm room that looks to Danish design traditions and creates a sleek, multifunctional space with privacy and sustainability in mind.
5. An office environment where strong lines create pathways to assist communication and glass offices allow daylight, reflecting the firm's values.
This project was a collaborative project with one other student in my studio 3 class. The project consisted of using systems furniture in an office setting.
This presentation explains different types of landscape lighting used for architectural purposes. This can help design and architecture students to study.
For many years, daylight was the only efficient source of light available. Architecture was dominated by the goal of spanning great spaces and making openings big enough to distribute daylight to the interior of a building. Efficient artificial light sources and completely glazed facades have freed designers from these requirements of the past. Advanced daylighting systems and control methodologies are another progression forward in providing day lit, user-friendly and energy-efficient environments for buildings. These systems should be integrated into a building’s overall architectural system and merged into the process from its earliest stages. This thesis mainly analyzes sustainable daylight, the simulation program for daylighting, although it is an overview of new and advanced daylight technologies along with daylighting calculation. Hopefully this thesis will give the reader some knowledge about this topic. You can check this link for more academic presentation;

Program Level: This is a level 200 program. Intended for individuals familiar with green building principles and practices.
Who Should Come: Individuals involved in the building design, construction and renovation industries, especially those who are interested in optimizing daylighting to reduce energy consumption and enhance occupant comfort and productivity.
"When properly designed and effectively integrated with the electric lighting system, daylighting can offer significant energy savings by offsetting a portion of the electric lighting load. A related benefit is the reduction in cooling capacity and use by lowering a significant component of internal gains. In addition to energy savings, daylighting generally improves occupant satisfaction and comfort. Windows also provide visual relief, a contact with nature, time orientation, the possibility of ventilation, and emergency egress."
-US Department of Energy
Daylighting has the potential to significantly reduce energy consumption, improve life-cycle cost, and increase occupant productivity and wellbeing. In light of the inherent value of strategic daylighting design, dont miss the opportunity to join GRTs own Holly Wasilowski as she presents a 2.0-hour intro-level training on the principles of daylighting for buildings.

Corporate Headquarters
Concept Statement
ReadyMade magazine takes everyday objects and turn
them into useful items you can use in your home. The
concept for their corporate office takes cues from
Marcel Duchamp’s definition of Ready Made and his
controversial art work “The Fountain” which is a simple
manufactured and mass produced item. The floor plan
reflects a factory by laying out each department along a Floor Plan
straight corridor that emphasizes the process of the
making of the magazine.

Hotel Restaurant- Group Project
Concept Statement
By using the idea of modern elegance for our space, we use
gracefully curved pathways and sophisticated materials to
pull people into the space. This option would open the
space up and purposefully circulate people to their
seats, to gather and enjoy each others company. The
reception area would set the tone with stylish elements
such as comfortable seating, relaxing colors and curved
desk directing you into the space.

Our dorm room looks to the traditions of modern Danish Dorm Room: Group Project
design by creating a sleek and multifunctional space.
This space will perform as a sleeping, study and social unit.
In addition it will give each of the roommates a sense of
privacy when needed. Sustainability will be the foundation
of this room by reusing some of the existing built in
furniture as well as employing green fabrics, finishes and
appliances. Energy efficiency will be addressed through the
examination and exploration of water usage, lighting
efficiency, and recycled materials. The redesign of this
dorm room will set the tone for future dorm rooms by
setting an example of a modern multifunctional space that
embraces sustainable design.

Office Environment-Group Project
Concept Statement
A circuit board provided a roadmap to the design of this
office environment, strong lines extenuate pathways to
assist in communication and collaboration between
divisions. Glass office fronts and workstations along the
window wall allow daylight to penetrate the space. Using
natural daylight helps to create a more open and
collaborative work environment that reflects the firms
values. The space includes a variety of team areas, private
offices, conference rooms, as well as relaxing stations to
help reduce stress among employees. Circulation
throughout the space enhances teamwork and increases
productivity to provide solutions that enhance
efficiency, improve client services, and enable the
company to push the envelope in development of software
products and technical services. .
