Capitol Records was founded in 1942 by Buddy DeSylva and Johnny Mercer. It is an American record label that signs artists from various music genres, including pop artists such as Katy Perry, Tori Kelly, Lily Allen, and Sam Smith. Capitol Records has also had success signing non-pop acts like The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Coldplay, Pink Floyd, Queen, and Radiohead.
