Poland has a rich history and culture with traditions dating back centuries. It has a predominantly Catholic population and was formerly the capital of Poland until 1795. Some of Poland's major cities include Warsaw, the current capital, as well as Krakow and Gdansk, all of which offer historic landmarks, architecture, and attractions that draw many tourists annually to learn about Polish culture and history.

2. Our Country
Poland is very interesting country with fascinating
history, culture, traditions and language.
It's a country in central Europe and it is bordered
by: Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine,
Belarus and Lithuania. To the north by Baltic Sea.
In Poland there is a mild climate: summers are
warm with temperature between 19- to even
30*C. Winters are colder (to -15 *C). That's the
continental climate.

3. More information ABOUT Poland
Poland is very modern country but it has got also
many traditions. Poles are very family people: all
the holidays, for example: they spend Christams
together with their families. Poppy-seed cake,
beet soup, prune dumplings and noodles with
poppy seed are typical Polish dishes on Christmas
Eve. There are a lot of different customs, for
example: Dożynki - Harvest Day, June 23rd - St.
John’s night or November 29th - Eve of St.
Andrew’s Day (Andrzejki).

4. Religion
Poland is also a religious country. Most people
go to the church on Sunday and that's their
free day. Children have got religion classes at
school too. In Poland there are a lot of Holy
Days.

5. Warsaw is the capital of Poland. This amazing city is full of
contrasts, question marks and surprises. It will excite and
inspire you.We’ve got a big national stadium. The photo above
shows the most famous landmarks, such as: The Castle of
Culture and Science ( the highest building on the right),
Mariott Hotel, which is in the middle of the photo.

6. Kraków is one of the largest cities in the country. It is located in southern Poland, in
Malopolska province. It is located on the Vistula River in the Cracow Gate,
Carpathian Plateau and the Nida Basin. Krakow was the official capital of the Polish
until 1795. It has a very rich history, which can not be so simply described. Krakow
offers us hundreds of fantastic monuments both secular and religious; most
popular of them are, of course, Wawel Castle, Wawel Cathedral, Main Square,
Cloth Hall, St. Mary's Church, but also many others. It’s really difficult to find any
other places, such as Cracow around the world .

7. • Gdańsk is situated on the Bay of Gdańsk and in the southern coast of the Baltic Sea. It is one
of the most magical places in which I have ever been . Gdańsk is a thousand years old city
with a population approximately half a million.
It features fascinating examples of urban architect styles, which catches almost everyone's
eye. There are a lot of monuments and historic buildings, that tourists from all over the world
can admire. The most famous buildings are (the Town Hall, the Mill and the Old Town)
Gdańsk has also developed a good infrastructure for the tourists. The city offers for us
comfortable hotels, elegant restaurant and cosy cafes. In the city centre there are located a
lot of shops, where tourists have a chance to buy souvenirs. The most famous souvenirs from
Gdańsk are products made from amber (especially unique, manually crafted jewellery).
Gdańsk is well-known from international fairs, which attract guests from the whole of the
world. Moreover the shipyard is a historic symbol of Gdańsk. It is a place where the fight with
communism started. There is also a big harbour, which enables contacts with Scandinavian
counties. The city and its sourandings are a good place for tourists because there are a lot of
opportunies for relaxation. People might walk at the seaside and if the water is warm enough
they can swim. At night young and older people can go out to night clubs and enjoy
themselves until the morning light.
With its characteristic architecture and its unique atmosphere, Gdańsk can undoubtedly be
called attractive for tourists. There is evidence that more tourists from all the corners of the
world are visiting Gdansk and appreciating its beauty.
