Who are we?
The Association of Municipalities
Polish Network „Energie Cités”
(PNEC)
 is a non governmental, non profit organisation with its office
in Kraków registered in 1994
 its members are Polish towns, cities and districts
 staff: 10 employees
 since 1997 a member of the European Network Energy Cities
 since 2009 the official Supporter of Covenat of Mayors

PNEC fields of activity
 local energy policy
 supporting local authorities in energy efficiency and
renewable energy use
 ecological education in the field of climate protection
 help desk for municipalities: how to take advantage of
structural funds and other sources of financing
 assistance for our members in finding partners for
projects
 promotion of Covenant of Mayors
 assistance for LA in fulfilling the CoM commitments

 Covenant of Mayors’ main objective is to reduce the CO2
emission in cities
 One of PNEC statutory goals consists in improving
local energy policies, promoting energy efficiency

 Covenant Cities declare to prepare Sustainable
Energy Action Plans (SEAPs)
 PNEC is experienced in preparing Municipal Energy
Programmes for cities based on the methodology
and experience from MODEL, Energy for Mayors
projects

 Covenant of Mayors requires improvement of communication
with citizens through Energy Days or Covenant Days
 PNEC is experienced in organizing such awareness
