The key purpose of playground supervision is to ensure safety. Nearly 200,000 playground injuries occur in the US each year requiring emergency room visits, and 40% of these are related to inadequate supervision. Quality supervision can significantly reduce injuries by preventing interactions that may lead to harm. Playground supervisors must understand their responsibilities to provide a safe environment for children through careful supervision of designated zones, monitoring for hazards, enforcing rules and intervening when needed to stop inappropriate behaviors. Over 40% of injuries can be attributed to issues of supervision, so supervisors must be vigilant and not engage in other activities when on duty.
The playground presentation summarizes the equipment and areas in a school playground, including a wall ball area that is now eroded, a soccer or dodge ball yard, an 8-foot tall metal slide, old wooden teeter-totters, a tire tower and tetherball pole without a ball, tires to walk across and a free-standing tree fort in the back, tire monkey bars, a climbing dome, a basketball pad without a backboard or basket, a bucket-shooter pole, tires on the ground, a rocky boundary where the youngest kids play, a sandbox adjacent to the top parking lot, and swings segregated from other equipment in the back.

Some issues noted include debris, drainage into the playground, worn equipment, and accessibility only to the grass area but not the play area. Suggestions are made to address drainage, foreign objects, and improve accessibility.
The playground assessment at Augustine School found several safety issues that need to be addressed. Younger students frequently use the playground which has deteriorating equipment, loose hardware, puddles of water and debris presenting general hazards. Specific problems included a shaking bridge, broken swing, poor drainage leading to large puddles, and an unsecured gate. The assessment recommends cleaning up debris and water, repairing broken equipment, securing the gate with a lock, painting aging structures, and performing landscaping to improve the playground's weaknesses and general upkeep.
The document discusses the importance of play for children's development and health. It notes that play is intrinsically motivated and supports cognitive, physical, and social-emotional growth. However, children's opportunities for free play are decreasing due to concerns about safety, academics taking priority over recess, and parental hyperprotection. The document argues that playgrounds are critical environments for beneficial outdoor play, and that some risk-taking is important for healthy development and should be allowed.
The document discusses child care in the Philippines and Ontario, Canada. It covers the history and growth of child care in the Philippines from its origins under Spanish rule to modern preschool programs. It also outlines the availability and types of child care in both locations, including center-based, home-based and school-based options. This course is not a permanent one, but one that people can construct or put together easily for a fundraiser, get together, picnic or just a day of fun at home.
For each element, I provide a list of materials, instructions on how to set it up, and discuss any safety concerns. I have tested each element before including it in the final plan.
For the last part of my project I am distributing the plans to you, disability organizations, and schools so you can use it to create obstacle courses at your events and fundraisers and share it with your families for fun activities they can do at home birthday parties or just everyday fun.

Noisy toys are not just annoying but they may be able to damage a young child's hearing thresholds permanently. Parents need to be aware of the risks that come with noisy toys.
Children's toys have the potential to permanent cause hearing loss. Parent and caregivers need to be aware that toys that young children could put up to their ears may harm their child. Noisy toys are not just possible annoying but should come with a warning label.
Kites Unlimited in Atlantic Beach sells kites and hosts weekly kite flying events at Fort Macon State Park on Sundays. This is a fun activity for children and adults alike. Wading in the shallow water is also a great way for young children to enjoy the ocean safely under parental supervision, especially at low tide when the water is calmest. Picnicking on the beach provides an opportunity to enjoy meals together in the warm sun.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.

2. Playground Pointers
When taking your child to a playground, safety should
be a #1 priority for parents/teachers. Parents/teachers
should be making sure that their child is in a safe
environment.
Playgrounds should have signs determining the
appropriate age to participate in play (if so, adhere to
them!)
Any hazards should be blocked off/fixed
Water, toilets and shade provided
Being aware and observant of children at all times
3. 1765 Royal Ave. Simi
Valley Ca. 93065
(Deyma)
ADVANTAGES
•
It has a sign describing
the suggested ages for
play participation on
equipment.
•
Playground equipment
in great conditions
•
Equipment made with
material to avoid hot
to the touch or burns
4. Disadvantages
You might think that it is
always safe to take your
children to the nearest
playground. But it is always
better to double check about
the place’s safety.
Demonstrated in the picture
below is the blocked entrance
to the broken slide as a way to
prevent injuries at Simi
Valley’s Recreation and Park
District. *
*slide was only blocked off on one side
5. RATING: 7.5 out of 10
There are no other hazardous situations within this particular playground, the only
concern that we still have is the fact that the water fountains and shade are
relatively far for children to be properly hydrated and away from the sun as to say
that this playground is entirely safe and well guarded from dehydration.
This park seemed to be a safe place for children to have a great time and exercise.
But now that we can tell that hazards are everywhere, we can’t be caught off guard
at anytime or anyplace.
6. 950 North Ventu Park Rd.
Thousand
Oaks, CA 91360
(Janine)
ADVANTAGES
•
open area; lots of room available
for the children to play and
explore
•
grass area around the equipment
for them to play on when they
wanted to run around.
•
Drinking faucet and shade
provided.
•
It was age appropriate for
children older then toddler age.
They had a few rocking dinosaurs
for the younger children, but
again, not for anyone younger
then 2.
•
The equipment looked to be in
good shape that was well built.
The paint was not chipped. There
was one wall missing but it was
boarded up tight and nicely with
a thick piece of plywood that was
not chipped or splintering at the
corners.
7.
DISADVANTAGES
•
Wood chips; though
acceptable but not favorable
•
Playground not age
appropriate for anyone
under the age of 2. It is
more based on older
children. They had a few
baby swings but that was
about it. The activities they
had on the playground was
not for younger children.
•
There was only 1 drinking
fountain and limited
benches around the
playground.
•
There were not many mind
stimulating games. I feel like
they should have more "busy
wall" activities, such as,
tick-tack-toe, or complete
the animal.
•
RATING: 7 out of 10
8.
Very pleasing and newly made
playground.
Had welcoming sign mentioning that
this specific playground, was designed
for children between the ages of 2
and 5 years old with adult
supervision. The sign was very clear
and a great way to inform parents of
the age the playground was designed
for.
Had recycled rubber for the
playground flooring; safe!
The playground had three very low
slides, making the children very
comfortable going down them.
It also had little puzzle like games for
the children to mess around with, as
well as a voice tunnel so that the
children can talk to each other from
opposite sides of the playground.
The guardrails on this playground
seem to be in regulations so that
children would prevent head
entrapment. The swing area had a
few neat looking seat swings, that
looked like roller coaster seats.
Safe swings; parents would need to
pull over a chest harness and buckle
them in.
(Angel’s Park)
ADVANTAGES
9. ANGEL’S PARK
DISADVANTAGES
There were only two hazards that I seemed to find while
observing this playground. One was the playground was very
low, making it possible for children to crawl underneath and
possibly bump their head.
Awkward set up with little sand area that took up a quarter of
the playground.
Underneath the swings there was a hole of missing recycled
rubber making it dangerous for a child to fall in.
RATING: 8.5 out of 10
10. 980 Aranmoor Ave.
Thousand Oaks CA
(Nicole)
ADVANTAGES
It had a tunnel with
holes through it so easy
access to see through.
Climbing spaces
dimensions wide enough
to avoid entrapment.
No loose bolts and
everything checked out
pretty good.
11. DISADVANTAGES
•
Plastic rock climbing
stimulator, hot to
touch and slippery
•
Park area limited;
not enough room for
too many kids.
•
Though woodchips
are acceptable, not
highly favorable due
to splinters
•
RATING: 9 out of 10
12. TIERRA REJEDA PARK
11900 Mountain Trail
Street
(Elba)
ADVANTAGES
•
Equipment were
separated and had a
clear sign with
appropriate ages for
play!
