Our solar system consists of the Sun and objects that orbit around it, including 8 planets. The planets can be divided into two groups - the inner terrestrial planets that are small and rocky, and the outer gas giants that are much larger. The planets move in elliptical orbits around the Sun and have unique characteristics that make each one special.
