3. Equipment
• My main equipment I will use is the
Wacom graphics tablet, I’m going draw
everything on this tablet because I have
very good experience with it, and I know
my way around it well.
4. Equipment
• When making my comic I will be using a
college laptop because they let me
download Krita on it and it’s my
preferred software to make things on. I’ll
also be using my own laptop at home
which already has it downloaded.
5. Equipment
• I will be using Krita because it’s a free
drawing software and it’s available
everywhere. I already have good
experience with Krita so I’ll know what I’m
doing
6. Equipment
• I will be using photoshop to make the
base layers if the college laptop isn’t
available. This will allow me to still do
production work if a piece of equipment
isn’t available
7. Art style - characters
My art style will be vector drawings as I want clean smooth images. However
using vector will be a bit of a challenge because sometimes it doesn’t allow me
to draw a line a certain way in which I then have to keep repeating drawing
that line until it comes out right.
I will make a base drawing first so I can easily draw over with line art and see
if the original base needed an improvement and I can also change things
around.
Most of the colouring will be block colours with a black outline, however with
the backgrounds I will experiment with them and make them look creative and
using different brushes.
10. Character description –Jonas
Jonas is an idiot. He’s been selected as the new superhuman because Xavi, the gift
giver, got the wrong Jonas and now he has to deal with looking after a completely
irresponsible person. Jonas doesn’t really have any goals in his life and relies on his
parents money as an income even though his parents dislike him because he doesn’t
do anything. He’s incredibly forgetful and dyslexic. His parents suspect him of having
ADD but because he doesn’t really do anything he hasn’t checked up on it to a doctor.
What inspired me to make this character was after listening to the Weezer blue album
and watching The Batman and seeing a pathetic emo Bruce Wayne on screen I
thought, what if there was a version of Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne that who’s
parents were still alive but he was an absolute loser instead. And so Jonas was born.
Jonas is also based on Simu Lui’s character Shang-Chi.
13. Character description – Xavi
Xavi is also an idiot but he’s immortal. He gave the gift of superhuman abilities to
Jonas and tries and guides him through his powers. When he died during the middle
ages he came back as a skeleton and has travelled the world. What inspired me to
make this character was that painting of Vincent Van Gogh of the skeleton smoking
and I thought it was funny so I made him as a character.
15. Script
• The script is short but I prefer to have a base script
and then improvise it during the actual production
since I change my mind a lot of the time.
16. Fonts
For the Skam font, I'll be using it
for onomatopoeia so people can
easily identify the sound effect
it's supposed to be
For the Bako Sapi font, I'll be
using it in speech bubbles and
thought bubbles. It gives it a
more comic and
handwritten look
17. Preparing my pages
When I prepare to draw my pages, I'll first draw the base of the
comic with all the boxes and sketches of the characters, and then I
draw and colour it over. It makes it a lot easier for me so I know
exactly how I want my character to behave, and I can easily
change things around when I'm drawing its line art and colour over
it.
18. Preparing my pages
If Krita isn’t available I’d use photoshop to draw
the base so I can easily go over it in vector on
Krita.
