Continuity, the 180 degree rule, match on action, shot/reverse shot techniques, and mise-en-scene were areas the document identifies for improvement in cinematography skills. The preliminary task revealed issues like an unsteady camera, lack of shot variety, and costumes not suiting the scene. The diagnosis summarizes how the opening sequence applied lessons learned - using a tripod, wider shot selection motivated by meaning, and costumes fitting the character. Research into film techniques and examples supported developing a polished opening sequence adhering to genre conventions.
From the preliminary task, the student learned the importance of planning, including storyboarding and creating shot lists. They also learned filming techniques like the 180 degree rule and using shot reverse shot. For the full film, they planned more effectively by brainstorming ideas and creating individual storyboards and shot lists. They encountered problems with actor availability during shooting but overcame it by playing a role themselves. They also learned to maintain continuity between shoots through consistent location, costumes, and lighting.
Mathew created a documentary diary of his media studies coursework. For the preliminary task, he filmed a scene with classmates about an interrogation. They captured different angles and edited them together. They received feedback that improvements could be made to settings and dialogue. For the main task, Mathew's group created the opening to a thriller by filming in various locations and adding flashbacks. They refined the project based on audience feedback. Mathew documented the entire process and learned valuable skills in filming, editing, and incorporating feedback.
The photography studio is suitable for the main photo shoot. Permission was obtained from the photography teacher to use the studio. Equipment needed, including studio lights, a DSLR camera, and tripod, will be brought. Safety issues like tidy wiring will be checked. A variety of shots will be experimented with to choose the best for the magazine. Models were contacted via Facebook and text about their roles to make efficient use of limited studio time.
Tom Haase is planning a photography shoot for a film cover featuring a lumberjack character. He will shoot at two locations - a college studio and nearby Knavesmire Woods. At the studio, he will take close-ups and full body shots of the model against a white backdrop. The woods provide a dense, wooded backdrop but may be dangerous at night. He has booked time at the studio on March 14th and plans to shoot outdoors on March 16th-17th, depending on weather. Both locations are within a 15 minute walk of his home. He will use props including an axe, shirt, hat and boots to costume the model as a lumberjack.

This document summarizes a student's preliminary film task for their AS level course. The student's group filmed a conversation between two characters applying three principles: match on action, shot-reverse shot, and the 180 degree rule. They made one minor mistake breaking the 180 degree rule but refilmed to correct it. The group collaborated well, taking turns operating equipment and editing. They managed resources, equipment, the deadline, and ensured health and safety during filming. The preliminary task provided experience with filming and editing techniques.
The document evaluates the students' short chase sequence film project. It describes their initial idea to create an under-minute chase involving a woman being chased for her phone. It discusses their filming process, use of mise-en-scene, shots, editing, and how the project helped them learn skills for future filmmaking such as using iMovie, different camera shots and angles, setting up equipment properly, and considering elements in frame.

honest and clear image from a music artist
providing insight and using the uses and
gratifications theory by saying that consumers need
Personal Identity and this can be gained through
relating to a person, so I wanted an intimate setting

16. Magazine Masthead Planning
For my magazine title I have decided to use the title of
Pulse, it’s short, snappy, easy to remember and catchy, it
also relates to music by the beat (pulse). Out of the fonts I
looked at, I chose three fonts that I looked at and asked
for audience feedback on what they thought, and the
second choice was clear favourite. I agree that the second http://www.dafont.com/warning.font
font is best as it’s bold and clear, and very eye catching, it
would stand out against a background more so than the
other fonts and is most suitable for a title.
