Plan for improvement and organization with signature aesthetics[1]
1.
2. I currently work for a salon called Signature
Aesthetics as a receptionist. I started
working there in September of 2013.
While working I have noticed changes
that could be made to organize the
business more and save money.

4. I am only part-time at Signature Aesthetics therefore I am not
there to log all transactions and receipts every day and
sometimes the owner Jennifer will forget.
I propose I start making log sheets for the afternoon and
when we go to leave we print them out and make sure
every transaction and receipt is in our system QuickBooks.
It is easy to printout a list of every transaction entered on
QuickBooks so you can easily identify if something was
forgotten because the amount of sales should be equal to
what was brought in for the day. This past year for 2013 my
owner Mrs. Kyle had to take a lot of her time and go back
into our system when it came tax time because many
receipts had not been logged and it was extremely
frustrating. If we start doing a log sheet every day this will
save her a huge headache tax time next year.
5. After going over the sales for the business this year Jennifer
agreed that too much was being spent on products and
over ordering.
Basically my proposal is to create an inventory sheet of every
product Jennifer sells or uses for her clients. Each time we
need to do an order I will go through everything in the
salon and make sure I have accurate numbers of
products. The days are usually busy which is why when it
comes to doing product ordering it has been rushed and
items that we have are overlooked. Creating an inventory
sheet will make you see every product so you aren’t trying
to remember all the items we carry and you will get an
accurate count because you will go down the list and
check what you have and put the number down.
6. Money definitely went to advertising this past year for
Signature Aesthetics. Jennifer had her ads in a few
different magazines and coupon books. Also she did a
few ads in the newspaper. The business did gain some
clients but not enough to break even on all that was
spent.
For 2014, my proposal would be to not renew the advertising
except for one local magazine, Papernet, that was the
only ad that always was sure to bring in business. By doing
this it will save revenue for the business. This year should
be focused more on advertising through the internet and
newspaper. So many people are on the web today and
always looking up businesses. Facebook is one of the best
ways to advertise as well as Google. After doing a survey
on Survey Monkey it gave even more creditability to why I
think we should do more advertising online.
7. Question: Do you have an email account you
check regularly?
Answer: The response was a 100% yes.
Question: Do you frequently use Facebook?
Answer: Yes, 78.57%. No, 21.43%.
Question: Where do you hear about businesses or
salons the most?
Answer: Internet, 71.43%. Newspaper, 7.14%.
Magazine, 7.14%. Television, 21.43%. Radio,
28.57%
8. In my final project I have cited quotes
from this book. It is a little older but
great for explaining how to market your
business. With so many people using
Facebook it is so easy to market a
business and get great word of mouth.
All the time on my newsfeed I am
always seeing suggested businesses
and I am always checking out new
places as I know many other people
are as well.
9. All my proposals for Signature Aesthetics
are simple to do. The business will end up
saving money. As an employee I would
love to see the business save money and
grow. There are many ideas my owner,
Jennifer Kyle, has said she has wanted to
do. With these improvements and
organizations this year we should be able
to make new changes to the salon for
the business and our clients!
