Workforce Environment Upstate taxes are 53% higher than the national average. Average wages per worker are about 20% lower than the national average.
Policy Proposal: Property Tax Develop a competitive workforce environment with other regions and states Set a regional policy that ALL residential related property taxes shall be less than 2% of the property's assessed or appraised value
Local Government Currently, our region has one unit of local government for every 2,900 people About 66% of Upstate jobs are tax funded the other 34% are tax-paying Consolidate services and departments Cost-effective governmental structure
