Classification of materials
This module deals with the classification of the engineering materials and their processing techniques. The engineering materials can broadly be classified as:a) Ferrous Metals ,b) Non-ferrous Metals (aluminum, magnesium, copper, nickel, titanium) ,c) Plastics (thermoplastics, thermosets) ,d) Ceramics and Diamond,e) Composite Materials & f) Nano-materials.
Ni and ni based alloys
Ni-based superalloys are excellent high-temperature materials and have proven very useful, Co-based superalloys potentially possess superior hot corrosion, oxidation, and wear resistance as compared to Ni-based superalloys. For this reason, efforts have also been put into developing Co-based superalloys over the past several years.
Welding electrode
It describes about welding electrode flux coating, specification of welding rod and specification
Welding of aluminum alloys
Brief overview of aluminum weldng processes and related defects with possible remedies. Especially GMAW, GTAW and FSW.
