The pipe is a Russian double-barreled wind instrument originally from Ancient Greece. It consists of seven connected reed tubes of different lengths and was invented by Hermes according to Greek mythology. The pipe is made of three types of wood and has a hollow core with 4 to 8 cut apertures along its length, making it a double-barreled longitudinal flute. It is used as both an orchestral and solo instrument.
