 The Cultural Affairs Department of Pinellas County was   eliminated on October 1, 2010
 The PCCA served as Pinellas County’s Local Arts Agency (LAA)
 A group of community leaders pulled together a task force to develop a  sustainable business model for Pinellas’ Local Arts Agency.
The Task Force completed the following tasks: Reviewed local art agency (LAA) models across the country
 Created an inclusive process and gathered input from the arts community,    organizations, community leaders and education representatives through   focus groups.
 A total of 4 focus groups with over 100 attendees were conducted
 Created Facebook page to update interested community members
 Defined a corporate structure and name
 Developed a strategic plan for the LAA

  • #2 Major shift from being a grant making, program delivering organization to a promotional, marketing and networking organization that is trying to fuel the broad creative activities of the whole county. The reality of limited funds means we have to deliver the most impact with highly limited resources. Do things differently Not the same old arts council
  • #3 Pinellas County Cultural Affairs served as an advocate for the arts, by promoting the development and appreciation of the arts in Pinellas County through programs and services for the arts industry, government and the community at large. In addition, the Cultural Affairs Department served as the local arts agency (LAA) for Pinellas County.
