5. 1. Stone Fruit
 Some fruits instead of attaining full size
remain very small and become brown and dry
up and ceased further growth.
 These are known as stone fruits which are
retained on tree for a long period.

6. Causes
 Entering of tree into dormancy before
harvesting.
 Moisture and nutrient stress.
 High temperature.
Remedy
 Proper application of manure and fertilizers.
 Timely irrigation.
 Regular fruit thinning.

7. 2. Woodiness
 Presence of woody seed pockets.
 Presence of gritty lumps in pulp and
discoloration of pulp occur.

8. Causes
 Moisture stress.
 Imbalance of calcium content in plant.
Remedy
 Maintain irrigation regularly.
 Maintain proper level of calcium in plant.

9. 3.Sunburn
 Mostly affect on young parts of tree.
 Affected parts crack and the bark peels off.

10. Causes
 Heavy pruning and exposure of branches to
sunlight cause sunburn.
Remedy
 Canopy management should be done.
 White washing of exposed part can control
sunburn.

11. 4.Tree Decline
 Drying of leaves and branches occur.
 Shading of leaves occur.

12. Causes
 Water stagnation around tree cause decline of
tree.
 Nutrients deficiency also cause tree decline.
Remedy
 Proper drainage facility should be arrange.
 Good irrigation method should be
established.
 Proper application manure and fertilizers.

13. 5. Fruit cracking
 Cracking of fruits occur while it still attached
on the tree.

14. Causes
 This usually happens from a heavy rainfall or
irrigation after a prolonged dry spell.
 When irrigation apply after long dry spell, tree
absorb water rapidly and fruit expand which
leads to cracking of fruits.
Remedy
 Evenly distributed irrigation schedule and
constant and uniform moisture level in the
soil will reduce this Problem.

15. 6. Fruit Drop
 Dropping of fruits occur before reaching
maturity.
Cause
 Irregular water supply and lack of proper
pollination cause dropping of fruits.
 Nutrient deficiency.
 Abnormal climatic condition cause fruit drop.
Remedy
 Regular irrigation can control problem of fruit
drop.
 Provision of proper pollination should be
arranged.
 Proper application of manure and fertilizers.
