The document is an invitation to an event on November 9th, 2010 at 7:30pm in London that will feature 10 speakers, each using a metaphor to provide a new perspective on a topic in 10 minutes or less. Topics mentioned include digital technology, experience design, and video games. The event aims to change the way people look at things through the "chin-stroking medium of metaphor" over drinks. Interested speakers are invited to propose an idea to the organizer.
This is the final presentation I did in Madrid in April 2010. It's about doing.
Basically it contains an argument against distilling rich conversations down into simple, light messages; that you can bring people into the richer story simply by getting them to do one, simple thing.
Neuroscience Approach To Sales trainingUmar Hameed
A salesperson's mindset is critical to sales success. Sales training tells salespeople what to do but fails to impact a salesperson's mindset.
This is why many salespeople don't change their old behaviors after a sales training. Neuroscience shows us how to turbo change salespeople with a superior mindset.

Steve Krug Explains It All for You - SxSW 2011Steve Krug
My slides from my first SxSW.
The audio (60 min.) is available at http://schedule.sxsw.com/events/event_IAP8293. Play both at the same time and create your own multimedia presentation! (Note: For some reason, the SxSW media player widget isn't visible in IE. Consider alternate routes.)
Don’t make me think là cuốn sách nền tảng nhất, căn bản nhất.

i have been working for the past twenty five years as an artist. I earned a bfa in drawing and a mfa in printmaking. my aesthetic sense tends to lean towards the immediacy of mark making no matter the media i chose to express my ideas.
each medium lends itself to particular approaches for visual expression, but i am always interested in providing moments of visual interest and metaphors that serve as catalysts for thought.
i strive to provide others with a road map of my inner journeyings.

This is the framework for a talk to the JIVE Group at the University of Canberra in October. I hope to use some of my experiences in sport to explore the importance of self-esteem. I hope too the themes within my talk will resonate with the Journey, Inspiration, Vision and Encouragement.
The title for the talk is prompted by two songs. One is Release Me by Oh Laura and Are We Human by the Killers. The mispelling of my talk title is lined to the debate about the lyrics in Are We Human.
The funnel as a marketing model is insufficient. It doesn't account for permission and trust. Provided is an alternative model (CAKE) to help guide your social media strategy development.

Services and Stories - why marketing and product innovation need to play niceAndy Whitlock
I gave this talk at the Google Firestarters event in London on 17th September 2014. It’s a personal tale about my transition from marketing to product innovation and an attempt to talk sense about why they’re different and why they need each other.
I put this together for a talk to the lovely people at the British Library. Which might explain why it's quite booky in places.
It makes a simple point. But maybe one that gets neglected.
This is a talk I did for the IED and APG in Madrid in May 2010.
It's a thought piece exploring the energy/effort exchange when marketers attempt to create behavioural change. I don't think I come to any tight conclusions, but I hope it's good food for thought.
I've also had to hack it a bit to make it make sense without me talking. Hope it works.
What all that beta talk means for brandsAndy Whitlock
This is the second of four presentations I gave in Madrid in April 2010.
I was asked specifically to talk about "beta ideas". With that starting point, I decided to recap on where the language came from but to quickly move to how organisations need to think about releasing 'ideas' into an environment that is so unpredictable.
I talk about evolution and Andromedans. Apologies if any of it doesn't make total sense without my verbal narrative.
This is the first of four presentations I gave at a thing in Madrid in April 2010.
It explains how my background in PR and WOM has helped to shape my approach to digital marketing.
The more things melt into one another, the more invisible the channels and platforms are - and the more about real lives things become. Or something like that ;)
Apologies for holes in the presentation. I talked around a lot of the points and examples.
I'm a thinker with a doer's roots. Every now and then I feel like I'm thinking too much and not doing enough.
So I made this - a twist on Edward De Bono's famous six thinking hats.
