Image Description Panel 3:
Mid shot of guitarist model - kneeling on the ground
holding the neck of the guitar. Looking at the
camera, take several of him smiling, looking serious
and puling faces so I have some variety to chose
from. Make sure I get front and side angles as well
as photos using different zooms and from different
heights (flat, low angle, high angle)
Panel 5:
Mid shot of drummer - stood up with arms crossed,
drum stick in either hand pointing to alternate top
corners. Use same variation as with Panel 3.
Costumes Panel 3:
Jeans and ‘Los Pollos Hermanos’ themed t-shirt -
same as in music video for continuity.
Panel 5: Jeans and ‘Average Joe’s’ themed t-shirt -
same as in music video for continuity.
Lighting Panels 3 and 5:
High Key Lighting. 3 separate lights (left, right and
middle. with higher intensity coming from the right in
order to create a shadow effect. Use a light trigger
on the camera to create simultaneous flash as it will
be shot in a dark room.
Location Panels 3 and 5:
The Castle School Sixth Form, photography studio
Models Panel 3:
Aidan Woodman (guitarist) - 17
Panel 5:
Mike Clarke (drummer) - 17
Both models live locally.
Both were the band performers in the music video.
Photoshoot 1 - Wednesday, 3rd December:
Digipak Panels 3 and 5
Image Description Panel 2:
A long shot looking through the subway tunnel,
similar to a re-occuring shot used in the filming. This
is the background for the disk tray so it’s important
that it’s not too detailed as it won’t be clear to see
with the tray on top. - Take multiple shots from
slightly different angles as well, such as a low angle
to incorporate the lights as well.
Panel 4:
A mid (2) shot of both the models against the walls
of the subway to create an urban background to the
image using the graffiti. - Take several photos with
them smiling, pulling silly faces and looking serious
so I can decide later which looks the best and the
most appropriate to my design. This will also show a
slightly different angle to subway, compared to what
was used in the music video so it separates the 2
pieces in that respect. Make sure to take photos with
and without instruments.
Panel 6:
Take many different close up and extreme close up
shots of different, interesting pieces of graffiti art in
and around the tunnel. Focus particularly on the
‘Space Invaders’ comic art as well as some of the
more humorous faces such as Borat and the alien.
This panel will include the track list alongside the
graffiti image so it’s important to take photos of the
images central (sticking to codes and conventions)
but also with focus on the left third of the frame so
that their’s space for the track list to be edited on.
Costumes Panel 2:
No costume needed as it includes no model.
Panel 4:
Same costumes as used in the video, jeans and
‘Los Pollos Hermanos’, ‘Average Joe’s’ themed t-
shirts as it’s the same location as in the music video
so it’s important to keep the same costumes as well
for good continuity.
Panel 6:
No costume needed as it includes no model:
Lighting Panels 2, 4 and 6:
Natural lighting because it’s outside. This means I
need to make sure I film earlier in the day, when the
sun is up, because at this time of year it gets dark
early.
Location Panels 2, 4 and 6:
‘Subway to Nowhere’ - along Mortan Way,
Thornbury
Models Aidan Woodman (guitarist) - 17
Mike Clarke (drummer) - 17
Both live locally and I have their contact details.
They are both the performers in the music video.
