This document discusses planning and conducting a photoshoot where the author was the model. It includes screenshots of the photoshoot schedule. The author took background shots in advance at simple, accessible locations. On the scheduled day, the author took many photos outdoors to have natural backgrounds when the weather cooperated. The photos were then selected and categorized on the computer as definite includes, excludes or possibilities for the magazine cover. The final choices are shown to decide on editing needs.

I did take the background
shots prior to the final ones
just to make sure they would
work with my cover format
I wanted natural bland but
not boring backgrounds so I
chose simple accessible
locations that I could get to
at any time

2. Photoshoot On the day I finally had
enough sun to do the shoot
we made the most of it and
took loads of photos.
Then I dowloaded them all
onto the computer, picked
out the best ones and
marked them either as
definite ‘no’, definite ‘yes’ or
maybe’s
It was quite difficult to star in
and organise the photos but
I really wanted to be on my
own front cover!
These are pictures I had taken before when I was think-
ing about other content for the magazine - the Example
one was taken on my phone at a concert and the key-
board is at our house

MMade Magazine
QuarkXPress page layout
software used by designers
and by lots of publishing
companies I used it for all
my magazine page layouts
from the draft stage
onwards and again it would
takes years to probably
master all the things it can
do but I found it really useful
and started using it to layout
all my pages presentations
rather than powerpoint. I did
have to save the original
Quark documents as Adobe
Canon EOS 550 D
pdf (portable document
Digital SLR
files) files to upload them
though.
Quite straightforward to use
Another Adobe package I
immediately although I’m sure
used was Photoshop,I did
the more complicated lighting
play around a lot with this
and focusing choices would
but ultimately used it very
