Photos of clothes/accessories
my potential artists would
wear
This would fit my male model on the front
cover because as well as the man catching
their attention, the bling/gold chains will
attract my target audience in more
(stereotypically gold diggers), this is
because the majority of my target audience
are black females and they would mainly
be into wealthy men and gold is a female’s
best friend (as well as diamond). Chains
also relate to the Hip-Hop genre because
most of the artists of that genre like to flash
their cash by expressing it through their
clothes and it relates to a rapper called 2
Chainz, who does the genre of Hip-Hop,
causing recognition to my target audience.
Chains would also look good with the
masthead ‘Bling’ and make the masthead
and main image anchor too.
This traditionally worn on the head of a person
or can be worn anywhere else on a person.
Bandanas are usually popular in street gangs
as it is associated with gang affiliation, but
mostly is a fashionable accessory in the UK, so
it would represent the realism of today’s world
as most people (especially in my target
audience wear this). This bandana also is an
iconic symbol of Tupac, who was a great Hip-
Hop artist. So i will ask people if they like Tupac
and if they do, that means they like his style
and that will help in knowing if my target
audience would like to see my male model
wearing it on the front cover. This would also
stand out on the front cover as it will be
beneath the masthead and will attract the
audience due to the rule of thirds.
This tank top will bring out the muscles of my
second male artist as it will also lure my target
audience as they are female, so most of them
will stereotypically like the look of men with
muscles. Tops that shows muscles like this, are
also worn by Hip-Hop artists as their fisic will
need to look as strong as the bars (the words in
their rap songs). This top will look casual and
relate to my target audience they might see
them around a lot, so this top shows the reality
of the magazine as most people of working
class, which is the class most of my target
audience are at, would wear this and like to see
casual things and not always flashy and
expensive things on the magazine because it
may cause them to not pick up the magazine as
it will look too expensive for their taste.
My female model will wear this bomber jacket as it
would go along with the theme of the front cover if
the chains are worn. Therefore, the masthead of
‘Bling’ will work very well with this theme of gold
chains. She will wear this as it is not all black and
dull. As there are many gold chains of the jacket, it
shows wealth and expensiveness, making the
whole magazine look well designed, thought
through and expensive but still has a reasonable
price for my target audience as the first issue. It
also shows my magazine is suited to my target
audience and most of them wear bomber jackets
and know the fashion styles that are around lately,
making the magazine common to my target
audience.
