Abstract
Photojournalism
Task 2
• I think this photo is an abstract photo or it is and example of photojournalism
because it is capturing the Rolling Stones in action on the Edd Sullivan show. It is
an example of a mid shot. This photo effects me because I grew up listening to
this sort of music.
I think that this image is an example of a long shot but also an example of sport
photography. I picked this photo because this was when Danny Way jumped the
great wall of china on a skateboard, opening the eyes of skater world wide making
his quote “nothings too gnarly” seem possible. This photo was taken by DC one of
Danny Ways sponsors.
This photo of Dancer Jacques
D'Amboise playing with his children
near his home, mid shot, this is an
example of abstract because its not the
type of photo that people take
everyday. I chose this photo because
my dad used to do this to my brother
and I when we were younger.
This picture of the View of the
Earth as seen by the Apollo 17
crew traveling toward the moon,
Dec. 7, 1972 is a long shot and is
an example of photojournalism
because it proves that people
went to the moon and marks a
part of history.
Triple Exposure NYC, 1995;
from Journal Square. This
photo is a long shot and is
an example of landscape.
This photo was taken by
George Forss and I chose
this photo because I love
cities at night when they are
all lit up.
Task three
• George Forss was born in 1941 and grew up in an
orphanage in new York because his parents were
drunks so they couldn’t look after him. He tort
himself photography in 1964, after this he
started selling $5 prints outside the Metropolitan
Museum of Art in new York before being
discovered by Life magazine photographer David
Duncan in 1980. he now works with life magazine
as a photographer. This is one of his famous
photographs of the twin towers before 9/11
