1. Philosophy Statement
Personal MissionStatement
I believe that God has uniquely created each individual in this world, including myself,
giving everyone a life filled with special talents. Each life should be valued; therefore, I should
treat everyone I encounter with respect and worth without regard to their limitations or situation.
I believe it is my responsibility to take the unique life God has given me, with my gifts and
talents, and use it in service to others, helping them improve the life God has given them.
Philosophy of Health
Health refers to one’s ever-changing level of wellness and deals with virtually every part
of one’s life, including the spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, environmental, and intellectual
aspects. Everyone has limitations of some kind, making perfect health unattainable; however, if
one maintains a balance between all aspects of one’s life, optimal health for that individual is
possible. As part of God’s special Creation and His follower, I have the responsibility to
maintain an optimal level of health so that I can serve others and ultimately God to the best of
my ability.
Philosophy of Health Education
Health education deals with helping a community and its individuals live life to the best
of their ability by giving them the knowledge and resources they need to better understand all
aspects of health and enabling them to work towards reaching their level of optimal health.
Health education is a dynamic and ever changing field, and as a health educator, I want to use
my knowledge and skills to develop methods and programs for a community or individual,
specially tailored to their unique needs and situation with the ultimate goal of improving their
health in some way.
