11. SYMPORTERS: A symporter one ion across
the plasma membrane in the same direction
by using the electrochemical gradient of
another ion. Example: Ca channels.
ANTIPORTER: Antiporters use
electrochemical gradient of one ion to drive
another ion across the membrane in the
opposite direction.

13. Stimulation: Generally drugs which are actually
foreign substance are unable to stimulate enzymes.
Stimulation of enzyme relates to endogenous
several mediators and modulators in nature.
Inhibition: A common mode of action of drugs is by
inhibition of enzymes.Enzyme inhibition may be
classified as
Non-specific inhibition: Denaturation of protein is
adequately carried out by drugs. Drugs can cause
an inhibition of enzyme with which it comes in
contact by altering its tertiary strcture.
14. Specific inhibition: Many drugs possess the ability
of inhibiting a specific enzyme in such a manner
that the other enzyme involved in that particular
Pathway are not affected at all.
Competitive: The drug competes with the normal
substance or the coenzymes.
Non-competitive: Inhibitors that do not react with
the catalytic site instead react with an adjacent site,
is termed as non-competitive inhibitors.
