Pestera village is situated in Romania at the bottom of the Piatra Craiului Mountains between 900-1200 meters above sea level. The village has around 1000 homogeneous inhabitants and is considered one of the most striking mountain villages in Romania. The land is located in an area called "The Birch Hill" which has a panoramic view of both the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului Mountains, and gets its name from the large number of birch trees that surround it on three sides.
