Persuasive Speech About Procrastination
We all know that feeling when we are staring at the cursor blinking away at the blank document, while thinking about everywhere else we could be
instead. Although we keep telling ourselves "No I'm not getting up until that word count hits 3000." But wait, you just have to grab a drink first, before
you know it that drink has turned into a Neflix marathon and that word count still remains at zero.
This is every student's worst nightmare, referred to as procrastination. Procrastination is the avoidance of doing a task that needs to be
done–postponing until tomorrow what can be completed today. Studies suggest among college students the rate for procrastination may be as high
as 70%. Although procrastination is common, it can easily get in the way of academic and future career success and can make you feel bad about
yourself. When we all came to Kansas City Community College as a freshman, we all got the same advice wherever you turned: "Don't
procrastinate!" The truth, however, is that you will procrastinate whether or not you listened to that advice. Why is it that no matter how hard we try
not to procrastinate that we always do?Here are some things that will help you recognize if you are starting to procrastinate. First, you do low priority
tasks on your "to do" list like reading the instructions of the assignment over and over again before actually doing any work. Second, you think you
have to wait until the "right mood" or the "right time" to do that work, and you

Persuasive Essay On Sports
Competitive sports
Do you have a passion, something you love to do more than anything? Imagine people trying to stop you from doing what you love because they think
it's not useful or a waste. Some people say competitive sports cost too much and they are way too dangerous for young kids to participate in. However,
for many youth, competitive sports play a positive role. When kids play competitive sports, they are happier and they learn how to be healthy. Also,
they learn life lessons that they will need for the future.
One thing that is a positive outcome in sports is the overflowing happiness people get when they participate in competitive sports. One example is
that "children who were involved in sports were more assertive, had greater confidence in their skills and physical appearance, and reported more
positive feelings than those who didn't participate. (Merkal, Donna, Youth sport: positive and negative impact on young athletes, 201, May 31)."
If children hold an extreme love for the sport they play, most children use that sport as an escape. Playing sports blows off steam and helps people
relax. "Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you feeling happier and more relaxed. (Mayo Foundation for Medical
Education and Research ,Exercise: 7 benefits of regular physical activity, 1998)." Playing sports can help bring families or other kids together to
build strong bonds. "It appears that US children are healthy and happy as they engage in this traditional pastime, and families report higher levels
of satisfaction if their children participate. (Macdonald, Brian, Kids in Sports, Part 5: Can sports help shy kids to make friends?, 2009)." A pat on
the back from a parental figure is enough to keep kids going and doing their best. Because sports make children happier, they are more prone to keep
playing which all in all makes children happier and it teaches kids to do what makes them happy. With suicide being the second biggest fatality for
adolescents doing what makes them happy can be a life or death situation.
Correspondingly, fitness is a huge plus side of competitive sports. Diabetes is affecting around 8.6% of America's population. "More than 29 million

Persuasive Essay On Sexual Orientation
Love is a tricky topic. Many have been persecuted because of who they have loved. A common debate in society is that sexual orientation is a choice.
Nurture will say that the environment around a person plays a role, and nature will say that sexual orientation has to do with science. The nurture
argument is a common viewpoint because many can never imagine liking the same–sex, but then why is the nature viewpoint scientifically backed up?
Before jumping into each argument, sexual orientation needs to be defined. "Sexual orientation is about who you're attracted to and want to have
relationships with," according to Planned Parenthood (Parenthood). Sexual orientation is not the same as gender identity. Sexual orientation has to do
with who a person is attracted to, and gender identity is about what gender a person identifies with. There are many different labels that people put on
people who have a different sexual orientation than what is considered the common, which is a heterosexual relationship. The most common two are
gays for men who like men, and lesbians who are women that like women. There are also people who identify as bisexual meaning they like both
male and female. Another group that has a different sexual orientation is people who are attracted to more than just the average male and female, they
can be attracted to basically anyone, which includes people who are transgender, genderqueer, or intersex. They are named pansexual or queer. Lastly,
there are people

Persuasive Essay On Daycare
Leaving your child with someone else as you head off to work every day is not easy: As a parent, chances are, you long to be with your child 24/7.
This is especially true for new parents. However, once maternity leave has ended, even mom must return to work. While there are several child care
options available, one of the best options available is daycare. That said, choosing the daycare center that suits the needs of your family best will require
a bit of research.
Choosing a Daycare Provider: What Parents Need to Know
Some daycare providers have licensed caregivers. These licensed caregivers receive special training to ensure the children are given exceptional care.
10 Signs of a Good Daycare Provider
1. A Stimulating Environment

Are the toys provided age–appropriate and in good shape? Ask about daily activities: These activities should include talking, singing, dancing, reading
and on–the–floor playtime.
2. Security
Any daycare that you choose should have a locked door policy. This ensures that your child cannot just roam around the neighborhood. Ideally, only
staff members, individuals touring the facility and adults who are dropping off or picking up their children should be allowed in the center. All adult
visitors need to be closely monitored, including you!
3. Age–Group Separation
Toddlers and older children should not be mingling with babies who are under the age of 12–months. Toddlers can be highly–spirited and somewhat
unsteady on their feet. In addition, they have yet to master the art of being gentle with infants.
4. A Clean, Healthy Setting
Look for a health and sanitation rules sign. This sign should address hand washing procedures related to food preparation and diaper changes.
Additionally, it should outline the steps taken to wash and sanitize toys, feeding utensils, and pacifiers, etc.
5. A Safe Setting
Make sure there are:

Persuasive Essay On The Art Of Art
Art declares many things. It's a way for people to articulate their views, express their emotions, and communicate to the world in a way that gives
them creative release. This ability to exhibit one's views in a imaginative and safe manner is exceptionally important to society's growth, and to border
this freedom to articulate is detrimental. Art should not be hidden and concealed permanently from the public eye because some see it as vulgar due to
the fact that many people have varying definitions as to what is crossing the line. Only certain, obvious things can be noted as truly indecent.
Censorship is not an easy subject. As an artist, there is often a lot of tolerance for the obscene, from appreciation to detail on the human figure or
the unique renditions of animalistic interaction. However, the majority of the public might find the same things that the artists see as a unique
interpretation as vulgar. It is easy to see that such a standpoint must be taken into more consideration, as the point of indecency can differ greatly
for a conservative Christian compared to a liberal atheist. The two images of what each group considers unseemly would most likely range in their
obscenity, and so it would be difficult to put a line where one should be crossed. "If an image offends very many people, sooner or later someone
will invoke the law, and along with it judges, legislators, policymakers, and the police," quotes Melinda Hinkson in Australia's Bill Henson scandal:
notes on the new cultural attitude to images. Here we have a majority rule, where an image should only have action dealt upon it if enough people
want change. Such censorship is easy to determine when there are pieces depicting derogatory themes, such as child pornography or racial notions.
But there are multiple cases where there are two sides of the story, and it is not as simple.
A statue named Truth is Beauty by Marco Cochrane has recently been constructed in the city of San Leandro, here in the bay area. This statue depicts a
nude woman dancing, her body semi–geometric, and although you can not vividly see the all of the womans body parts, it is not difficult to know that
she is supposed to be depicted as naked. A completely naked figure,

Persuasive Essay On Pollution
Your day has been great so far. You went on vacation, you found a dollar bill on the floor, you ate your favorite dish, nothing can be better than
this. As soon as you walk on the boardwalk you are hoping to see big waves and fish in the sea, instead, you see dead fish and some animals floating
in the water next to old car tires, trash, and fertilizer. Now you feel terrible and want to go home. Pollution is devastating. The reason why I
researched this topic is that I do not want my family nor my planet to get sick. Pollution can be stopped very easily, it's just that people "don't
know" how to stop or they just don't care, which is a serious problem. I want people to see that pollution is mainly caused by humans, and also for
them to see that it is a horrible thing that is happening. Some kids litter because they see their parents and their whole family doing it. When I was
researching this topic, I noticed that I needed to find out more information, so I asked questions to myself. When did pollution get so bad? How
many animals have gone extinct because of pollution? How many people die each year because of pollution? How much does everyone on the
planet pollute each year? What is the best way to stop pollution? Can just one person make a difference? After a lot of research, I found out lots of
ways that we can stop pollution, so it is possible to end it. Or at least improve the air. Pollution is caused by people littering, throwing their trash
everywhere, wasting energy, and burning fuel from vehicles. Pollution effects all animals and plants from around the world. It can harm them and
kill them. Some animals have gone extinct because of pollution, thanks to humans. To be exact, over 11 species of animals have gone extinct because
of pollution, Not to mention people have died too! How much? Well, about 6.5 million people have mainly because of respiratory problems (lung
cancer caused by air pollution) . Yea, its really bad. Pollution has been around for a long time in the U.S since the mid–19 centuries. It got worse
because of the industrial revolution. This caused the air and water to become polluted because of all of the manufacturing factories, which uses coal for
their factories and threw their waste

Persuasive Essay On Water Pollution
The one thing humans need on this planet to survive is water. If we need water to survive, then why are polluting it? Most of our nation's waterways
are in terrible condition because of the pollution in the water. Water pollution not only can cause illnesses, but also deaths for humans. Humans aren't
the only thing that water pollution causes harm to. It is also hurting our ecosystem. Humans are the leading cause of most water pollution. We keep
throwing wastes into the water making the water unsafe for humans to drink. Scientists are coming up with ways for humans to decrease the amount of
wastes they are putting in the water. We need to stop polluting the one thing that keeps us alive. Water pollution is a change or decrease in water

There is a new chemical that "decreases male fertility, hormones, and testosterone" ("Declining Male Fertility"). The chemicals are in the shape or form
of medicine and pesticides and can affect fish and other species in the water. Some research has shown that these "chemicals make male fish believe
they are turning into females which is declining the male fertility in the water. These chemicals are getting in the water through the sewage pipes
leading into the water. This not only harms the water, but also the organisms inside the water. Water pollution isn't just hurting the environment, but
also costing Americans money. Instead of drinking water from the faucets, people are buying more expensive types of bottled water. Since most people
are buying expensive bottles of water, this is going to cost them more money. "Water pollution is costing the government, facilities, and Americans
nearly $4.3 billion" ("Freshwater Pollution Cost $4.3 Billion"). These pollutants can cause harmful effects on us humans. Water pollution impacts how
humans and other living organisms live their life. Most common way humans are effected by water pollution is through diseases while drinking the
water. Scientists have found over "five hundred different types of diseases" that can affect humans. (Book). These diseases get into the water streams
by human and animal wastes. The diseases in the water can often lead to death for humans. Recent research has shown that that each year

Persuasive Essay On Success
Goals, something every human being on this planet has and to reach those goals you must be successful. We set goals to fulfill our purpose in life, but
to do that, you must be successful in meeting and completing those goals. "How Bad Do You Want It?" is a motivational speech that highlights the
requirements of being successful. This speech is important to study because success is so vital and important for our survival as human beings, it
changes the world. No matter your race, religion, culture, etc., you want to be successful and that will have a different definition for everyone, because
only you can define what success means to you. "How Bad Do You Want It" encourages itsaudience to think differently about wanting to be successful
and how to make it happen. This speech holds all the components Aristotle says a speech needs to be effective which include, persuasive, decorative,
and informational, also meaning motivational, actionable, and fun (Morgan, 2016). While watching the football player perform each exercise
repeatedly, I witnessed the effort and dedication he exerted through each set – this commitment resonated with me, as I am also an athlete who is
expected to elicit these qualities. Not only hay, the video serves as confirmation that success is only attainable for those who want it bad enough and
are willing to work for it. Even the background music playing provoked an internal motivation to be proactive.

Persuasive Essay On Procrastination
Have you ever postponed something super important because you wanted to have fun on a Friday night? Convincing yourself "Oh, I'll just get it done
tomorrow?" This action of putting off a task until the next day or a later time is called procrastination. Someone displaying procrastination would
either be delaying their work for another job that they consider more important or distracting themselves with an activity that is more interesting.
Many people believe that only disorganized or lazy people acquire or pick up this intrusive habit, but I disagree with this misconception. Productive
people, too, occasionally lack the desire to get things done on time. Take for example myself; I have always struggled with this mannerism and even

The prefrontal cortex is what makes an individual decide to engage in a task. With that in mind, putting work off makes it easier for the limbic system
to dominate and give immediate pleasure feelings which the brain prefers. In other words, people begin to manipulate this perception and enjoy the
short–term effects because it becomes more satisfying not to complete the task. This habit can start to control how or when we choose to tend to
our responsibilities (Spencer). I recognize this feeling on a daily basis. For example, there was a day that I decided I was going to study in the
library as I would hopefully be more productive in that setting. However, as soon as I sat down I began to fiddle with everything I could get my hands
on. From obnoxiously twirling my pencil to watching time–consuming YouTube videos, I wasn 't very productive, and as a result, I had to cram until
two AM for an exam the next day. I had always known thatprocrastination was satisfying, and now with this new information that confirms that it
feeds off of my "good" feelings based on my body 's anatomy. Moving on, I then researched how to recognize why myself and others procrastinate in
the first place. The first reason people procrastinate is that they "become" perfectionists. As procrastination becomes a more common act, it can also
bring about the action of perfectionism. Harold Taylor does a fantastic job at identifying perfectionism, along with other reasons

Persuasive Speech To Stop Bullying

Central Idea: Bullying has been around for years, but it's time to make a difference and get rid of it.
Introduction
Attention Getter: How would you feel if someone was trying to put you down for your appearance or your culture or your for just being you? How
would you feel if there was no one to turn to because you feel like everyone would just make fun of you? How would you like it if you were stuck in

Body
Everyone has either been bullied or have been the bully, but the ones who are the bully don't see what they're really doing until it's too late.
For the past decade, the bullying rate has been sitting at 28%, but finally dropped to 22% just a few years ago. (U.S Department of Education, 2015)
It obviously shows that something is being done about the bullying. But do you really think it's ever going to stop completely? Do you think if we
really try to stop the bullying, will it actually make a difference in society? I hope so because if nothing changes in the next decade, there's no hope of
anything ever being done.
I'm sure there's someone here that has either been bullied or has been the bully. Do you ever look back at what you did or what was said to you? I
sure do. B. As the bully, you don't see what you're doing to the person because you're dealing with things yourself.
The real reason behind getting bullied is the bully himself is going through his own stuff and takes his anger out on

Persuasive Speech On War
War is a topic plenty have a hard time talking about it or even comprehending the idea of war in the first place. It is part of the human condition of
conquering and controlling whatever we feel is rightfully ours, despite the consequences that come with that certain type of impulse. Millions
have died over the causes for territory, religion, independence, equality, etc; but that begs the question: should we even feel guilty over viewing or
even being the cause of these deaths in the first place? When you are even inadvertently responsible for killing someone or if you only think so
then of course you would feel guilty for killing someone either on or not on purpose. It is hard to cope with the fact that there is one less soul on
this planet because of your actions and perhaps one of, if not the worst feelings on Earth. However, in war, you are not the only one. In battle you
have a job to due which is making the 'enemy' surrender in order to support the cause you are fighting for. You have signed up to due this in the
first place, so why not go through with the deal you have made? In fact, by engaging in such bloodshed, you are providing an odd, twisted benefit to
our society: population control. By getting out there on the battlefield and eliminating a few soldiers, you are slowing down the process of
overpopulation. Face it, we are reaching upwards of 8 billion people on our small planet with its dwindling resources and space and struggle to control
ourselves from

Persuasive Essay About Science
Every kid wants to go to the moon one day, or save children and families from blazing fires They all have a dream. We were always asked the
question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" The stereotypical jobs always came to mind. The thought of being an astronaut, floating
through space and discovering the planets. The thought of being a firefighter and saving the town from disastrous flames. These were normally
the first ones. Kids would always argue over who would be the best police officer. They would run around the playground playing "Cops and
Robbers", testing each other's heroic abilities. Then, there was me. Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to study some sort of science. My
mom has always worked in the medical field, so as soon as she got home I would ask what she did that day. It was always different. Some days she
would be working with a patient with cancer and others she would be removing an arm or leg due to a horrific car accident. It all kept me
entertained as a child and has since. Although I knew what subject of study I wanted to go into, I never knew the specific field. There were so
many options. You could be a physician, surgeon, or a research scientist. The list goes on and will continue to grow as new fields are developed.
There is one deciding factor for everyone, though. There is always that one moment or event that caused a feeling of awe. A desire to learn more. This
feeling came to me in my sophomore year of high school. Walking

"Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will

prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give
examples of topics we could choose and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already rushing to tell
the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of
anything and the teacher was slowly making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line. I have always
thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly
dragged myself over to his desk. Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. "What is your topic Cindy?" As usual in such desperate times,
my mind turned to food. "Waffles are better than pancakes." I figured that a waffle was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. "Hmm.
Excellent topic. I look forward to your essay!" I survived to live yet another day. As I walked to lunch, I went around and asked everyone the age old

Persuasive Essay On Inclusive Education
Gretchen Walsh, a special education professional with a masters in education stated, "Inclusion is important because through our diversity we
certainly add to our creativity. If you don't have a diverse classroom or a diverse world, you don't have the same creative levels and I think our
strength lies in our diversity" (What is inclusion?). Inclusion is the integration of students with disabilities into a general education classroom receiving
accommodations and services necessary for their specific needs. Inclusion is beneficial for all students because diversity is critical and results in better
academic outcomes and social connections (Willis, J.). Inclusion varies by extent of assistance needed and it provides students with disabilities the
opportunity to learn beside a diverse range of students. Overall, inclusive education is a current implementation in schools and has been proven to
positively impact students' lives.
Classes today are more diverse than ever and students with learning disabilities contribute to this. It is important to recognize the great modification in
the past two decades that has led to the growth of inclusive education. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act commenced in 1997 and requires
that all public schools in America offer a free education to students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment, and this federal law is

Writing A Persuasive Essay
It's a simple enough idea, write an essay about a topic for credit. I'll admit I've written good essays in the past, I just have one issue with this topic;
I am not a persuasive person. I don't have a passion to write about, or an idea in my head. Even if I was passionate about something, I doubt I have
the skill to convince you. My arguments would consist of why I like the topic (or hate it) with an extreme bias, and I doubt that you would be moved. I
couldn't convince you that the long hours of school take a toll on the students. Even if others agree with me, the way I word things, the lack of
passion and my lack of being able to be assertive is the reason why I can't write this essay. First things first, the way I word my thoughts. Regardless

Persuasive Speech About Procrastination

  • 1. Persuasive Speech About Procrastination We all know that feeling when we are staring at the cursor blinking away at the blank document, while thinking about everywhere else we could be instead. Although we keep telling ourselves "No I'm not getting up until that word count hits 3000." But wait, you just have to grab a drink first, before you know it that drink has turned into a Neflix marathon and that word count still remains at zero. This is every student's worst nightmare, referred to as procrastination. Procrastination is the avoidance of doing a task that needs to be done–postponing until tomorrow what can be completed today. Studies suggest among college students the rate for procrastination may be as high as 70%. Although procrastination is common, it can easily get in the way of academic and future career success and can make you feel bad about yourself. When we all came to Kansas City Community College as a freshman, we all got the same advice wherever you turned: "Don't procrastinate!" The truth, however, is that you will procrastinate whether or not you listened to that advice. Why is it that no matter how hard we try not to procrastinate that we always do?Here are some things that will help you recognize if you are starting to procrastinate. First, you do low priority tasks on your "to do" list like reading the instructions of the assignment over and over again before actually doing any work. Second, you think you have to wait until the "right mood" or the "right time" to do that work, and you Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Essay On Sports Competitive sports Do you have a passion, something you love to do more than anything? Imagine people trying to stop you from doing what you love because they think it's not useful or a waste. Some people say competitive sports cost too much and they are way too dangerous for young kids to participate in. However, for many youth, competitive sports play a positive role. When kids play competitive sports, they are happier and they learn how to be healthy. Also, they learn life lessons that they will need for the future. One thing that is a positive outcome in sports is the overflowing happiness people get when they participate in competitive sports. One example is that "children who were involved in sports were more assertive, had greater confidence in their skills and physical appearance, and reported more positive feelings than those who didn't participate. (Merkal, Donna, Youth sport: positive and negative impact on young athletes, 201, May 31)." If children hold an extreme love for the sport they play, most children use that sport as an escape. Playing sports blows off steam and helps people relax. "Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you feeling happier and more relaxed. (Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research ,Exercise: 7 benefits of regular physical activity, 1998)." Playing sports can help bring families or other kids together to build strong bonds. "It appears that US children are healthy and happy as they engage in this traditional pastime, and families report higher levels of satisfaction if their children participate. (Macdonald, Brian, Kids in Sports, Part 5: Can sports help shy kids to make friends?, 2009)." A pat on the back from a parental figure is enough to keep kids going and doing their best. Because sports make children happier, they are more prone to keep playing which all in all makes children happier and it teaches kids to do what makes them happy. With suicide being the second biggest fatality for adolescents doing what makes them happy can be a life or death situation. Correspondingly, fitness is a huge plus side of competitive sports. Diabetes is affecting around 8.6% of America's population. "More than 29 million American Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 4. Persuasive Essay On Sexual Orientation Love is a tricky topic. Many have been persecuted because of who they have loved. A common debate in society is that sexual orientation is a choice. Nurture will say that the environment around a person plays a role, and nature will say that sexual orientation has to do with science. The nurture argument is a common viewpoint because many can never imagine liking the same–sex, but then why is the nature viewpoint scientifically backed up? Before jumping into each argument, sexual orientation needs to be defined. "Sexual orientation is about who you're attracted to and want to have relationships with," according to Planned Parenthood (Parenthood). Sexual orientation is not the same as gender identity. Sexual orientation has to do with who a person is attracted to, and gender identity is about what gender a person identifies with. There are many different labels that people put on people who have a different sexual orientation than what is considered the common, which is a heterosexual relationship. The most common two are gays for men who like men, and lesbians who are women that like women. There are also people who identify as bisexual meaning they like both male and female. Another group that has a different sexual orientation is people who are attracted to more than just the average male and female, they can be attracted to basically anyone, which includes people who are transgender, genderqueer, or intersex. They are named pansexual or queer. Lastly, there are people Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Persuasive Essay On Daycare Leaving your child with someone else as you head off to work every day is not easy: As a parent, chances are, you long to be with your child 24/7. This is especially true for new parents. However, once maternity leave has ended, even mom must return to work. While there are several child care options available, one of the best options available is daycare. That said, choosing the daycare center that suits the needs of your family best will require a bit of research. Choosing a Daycare Provider: What Parents Need to Know Some daycare providers have licensed caregivers. These licensed caregivers receive special training to ensure the children are given exceptional care. 10 Signs of a Good Daycare Provider 1. A Stimulating Environment When you...show more content... Are the toys provided age–appropriate and in good shape? Ask about daily activities: These activities should include talking, singing, dancing, reading and on–the–floor playtime. 2. Security Any daycare that you choose should have a locked door policy. This ensures that your child cannot just roam around the neighborhood. Ideally, only staff members, individuals touring the facility and adults who are dropping off or picking up their children should be allowed in the center. All adult visitors need to be closely monitored, including you! 3. Age–Group Separation Toddlers and older children should not be mingling with babies who are under the age of 12–months. Toddlers can be highly–spirited and somewhat unsteady on their feet. In addition, they have yet to master the art of being gentle with infants. 4. A Clean, Healthy Setting Look for a health and sanitation rules sign. This sign should address hand washing procedures related to food preparation and diaper changes.

  • 7. Persuasive Essay On The Art Of Art Art declares many things. It's a way for people to articulate their views, express their emotions, and communicate to the world in a way that gives them creative release. This ability to exhibit one's views in a imaginative and safe manner is exceptionally important to society's growth, and to border this freedom to articulate is detrimental. Art should not be hidden and concealed permanently from the public eye because some see it as vulgar due to the fact that many people have varying definitions as to what is crossing the line. Only certain, obvious things can be noted as truly indecent. Censorship is not an easy subject. As an artist, there is often a lot of tolerance for the obscene, from appreciation to detail on the human figure or the unique renditions of animalistic interaction. However, the majority of the public might find the same things that the artists see as a unique interpretation as vulgar. It is easy to see that such a standpoint must be taken into more consideration, as the point of indecency can differ greatly for a conservative Christian compared to a liberal atheist. The two images of what each group considers unseemly would most likely range in their obscenity, and so it would be difficult to put a line where one should be crossed. "If an image offends very many people, sooner or later someone will invoke the law, and along with it judges, legislators, policymakers, and the police," quotes Melinda Hinkson in Australia's Bill Henson scandal: notes on the new cultural attitude to images. Here we have a majority rule, where an image should only have action dealt upon it if enough people want change. This statue depicts a nude woman dancing, her body semi–geometric, and although you can not vividly see the all of the womans body parts, it is not difficult to know that she is supposed to be depicted as naked. A completely naked figure, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Persuasive Essay On Pollution Your day has been great so far. You went on vacation, you found a dollar bill on the floor, you ate your favorite dish, nothing can be better than this. As soon as you walk on the boardwalk you are hoping to see big waves and fish in the sea, instead, you see dead fish and some animals floating in the water next to old car tires, trash, and fertilizer. Now you feel terrible and want to go home. Pollution is devastating. The reason why I researched this topic is that I do not want my family nor my planet to get sick. Pollution can be stopped very easily, it's just that people "don't know" how to stop or they just don't care, which is a serious problem. I want people to see that pollution is mainly caused by humans, and also for them to see that it is a horrible thing that is happening. Some kids litter because they see their parents and their whole family doing it. When I was researching this topic, I noticed that I needed to find out more information, so I asked questions to myself. When did pollution get so bad? How many animals have gone extinct because of pollution? How many people die each year because of pollution? How much does everyone on the planet pollute each year? What is the best way to stop pollution? Can just one person make a difference? After a lot of research, I found out lots of ways that we can stop pollution, so it is possible to end it. Or at least improve the air. Pollution is caused by people littering, throwing their trash everywhere, wasting energy, and burning fuel from vehicles. Pollution effects all animals and plants from around the world. It can harm them and kill them. Some animals have gone extinct because of pollution, thanks to humans. To be exact, over 11 species of animals have gone extinct because of pollution, Not to mention people have died too! How much? Well, about 6.5 million people have mainly because of respiratory problems (lung cancer caused by air pollution) . Yea, its really bad. Pollution has been around for a long time in the U.S since the mid–19 centuries. It got worse because of the industrial revolution. This caused the air and water to become polluted because of all of the manufacturing factories, which uses coal for their factories and threw their waste Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Persuasive Essay On Water Pollution The one thing humans need on this planet to survive is water. If we need water to survive, then why are polluting it? Most of our nation's waterways are in terrible condition because of the pollution in the water. Water pollution not only can cause illnesses, but also deaths for humans. Humans aren't the only thing that water pollution causes harm to. It is also hurting our ecosystem. Humans are the leading cause of most water pollution. We keep throwing wastes into the water making the water unsafe for humans to drink. Scientists are coming up with ways for humans to decrease the amount of wastes they are putting in the water. We need to stop polluting the one thing that keeps us alive. Water pollution is a change or decrease in water ...show more content... There is a new chemical that "decreases male fertility, hormones, and testosterone" ("Declining Male Fertility"). The chemicals are in the shape or form of medicine and pesticides and can affect fish and other species in the water. Some research has shown that these "chemicals make male fish believe they are turning into females which is declining the male fertility in the water. These chemicals are getting in the water through the sewage pipes leading into the water. This not only harms the water, but also the organisms inside the water. Water pollution isn't just hurting the environment, but also costing Americans money. Instead of drinking water from the faucets, people are buying more expensive types of bottled water. Since most people are buying expensive bottles of water, this is going to cost them more money. "Water pollution is costing the government, facilities, and Americans nearly $4.3 billion" ("Freshwater Pollution Cost $4.3 Billion"). These pollutants can cause harmful effects on us humans. Water pollution impacts how humans and other living organisms live their life. Most common way humans are effected by water pollution is through diseases while drinking the water. Scientists have found over "five hundred different types of diseases" that can affect humans. (Book). These diseases get into the water streams by human and animal wastes. The diseases in the water can often lead to death for humans. Recent research has shown that that each year Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Persuasive Essay On Success Goals, something every human being on this planet has and to reach those goals you must be successful. We set goals to fulfill our purpose in life, but to do that, you must be successful in meeting and completing those goals. "How Bad Do You Want It?" is a motivational speech that highlights the requirements of being successful. This speech is important to study because success is so vital and important for our survival as human beings, it changes the world. No matter your race, religion, culture, etc., you want to be successful and that will have a different definition for everyone, because only you can define what success means to you. "How Bad Do You Want It" encourages itsaudience to think differently about wanting to be successful and how to make it happen. This speech holds all the components Aristotle says a speech needs to be effective which include, persuasive, decorative, and informational, also meaning motivational, actionable, and fun (Morgan, 2016). While watching the football player perform each exercise repeatedly, I witnessed the effort and dedication he exerted through each set – this commitment resonated with me, as I am also an athlete who is expected to elicit these qualities. Not only hay, the video serves as confirmation that success is only attainable for those who want it bad enough and are willing to work for it. Even the background music playing provoked an internal motivation to be proactive. By delivering Eric Thomas's speech in his unique hip Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Persuasive Essay On Procrastination Have you ever postponed something super important because you wanted to have fun on a Friday night? Convincing yourself "Oh, I'll just get it done tomorrow?" This action of putting off a task until the next day or a later time is called procrastination. Someone displaying procrastination would either be delaying their work for another job that they consider more important or distracting themselves with an activity that is more interesting. Many people believe that only disorganized or lazy people acquire or pick up this intrusive habit, but I disagree with this misconception. Productive people, too, occasionally lack the desire to get things done on time. Take for example myself; I have always struggled with this mannerism and even more...show more content... The prefrontal cortex is what makes an individual decide to engage in a task. With that in mind, putting work off makes it easier for the limbic system to dominate and give immediate pleasure feelings which the brain prefers. In other words, people begin to manipulate this perception and enjoy the short–term effects because it becomes more satisfying not to complete the task. This habit can start to control how or when we choose to tend to our responsibilities (Spencer). I recognize this feeling on a daily basis. For example, there was a day that I decided I was going to study in the library as I would hopefully be more productive in that setting. However, as soon as I sat down I began to fiddle with everything I could get my hands on. From obnoxiously twirling my pencil to watching time–consuming YouTube videos, I wasn 't very productive, and as a result, I had to cram until two AM for an exam the next day. I had always known thatprocrastination was satisfying, and now with this new information that confirms that it feeds off of my "good" feelings based on my body 's anatomy. Moving on, I then researched how to recognize why myself and others procrastinate in the first place. The first reason people procrastinate is that they "become" perfectionists. As procrastination becomes a more common act, it can also bring about the action of perfectionism. Harold Taylor does a fantastic job at identifying perfectionism, along with other reasons Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Persuasive Speech To Stop Bullying Topic: Bullying in Schools Specific Purpose: To persuade people to stop the bullying and help the people that are dealing with it. Central Idea: Bullying has been around for years, but it's time to make a difference and get rid of it. Introduction Attention Getter: How would you feel if someone was trying to put you down for your appearance or your culture or your for just being you? How would you feel if there was no one to turn to because you feel like everyone would just make fun of you? How would you like it if you were stuck in bed just wanting to stay home because everyone is just not nice to you? This is what someone goes through when it comes to bullying. This also leads to other things that shouldn't be the only way out. There is always someone out there for you. You just have to...show more content... (Transition: So why does bullying need to stop?) Body Everyone has either been bullied or have been the bully, but the ones who are the bully don't see what they're really doing until it's too late. For the past decade, the bullying rate has been sitting at 28%, but finally dropped to 22% just a few years ago. (U.S Department of Education, 2015) It obviously shows that something is being done about the bullying. But do you really think it's ever going to stop completely? Do you think if we really try to stop the bullying, will it actually make a difference in society? I hope so because if nothing changes in the next decade, there's no hope of anything ever being done. I'm sure there's someone here that has either been bullied or has been the bully. Do you ever look back at what you did or what was said to you? I sure do. B. As the bully, you don't see what you're doing to the person because you're dealing with things yourself. The real reason behind getting bullied is the bully himself is going through his own stuff and takes his anger out on Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Persuasive Speech On War War is a topic plenty have a hard time talking about it or even comprehending the idea of war in the first place. It is part of the human condition of conquering and controlling whatever we feel is rightfully ours, despite the consequences that come with that certain type of impulse. Millions have died over the causes for territory, religion, independence, equality, etc; but that begs the question: should we even feel guilty over viewing or even being the cause of these deaths in the first place? When you are even inadvertently responsible for killing someone or if you only think so then of course you would feel guilty for killing someone either on or not on purpose. It is hard to cope with the fact that there is one less soul on this planet because of your actions and perhaps one of, if not the worst feelings on Earth. However, in war, you are not the only one. In battle you have a job to due which is making the 'enemy' surrender in order to support the cause you are fighting for. You have signed up to due this in the first place, so why not go through with the deal you have made? In fact, by engaging in such bloodshed, you are providing an odd, twisted benefit to our society: population control. By getting out there on the battlefield and eliminating a few soldiers, you are slowing down the process of overpopulation. Face it, we are reaching upwards of 8 billion people on our small planet with its dwindling resources and space and struggle to control ourselves from Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Persuasive Essay About Science Every kid wants to go to the moon one day, or save children and families from blazing fires They all have a dream. We were always asked the question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" The stereotypical jobs always came to mind. The thought of being an astronaut, floating through space and discovering the planets. The thought of being a firefighter and saving the town from disastrous flames. These were normally the first ones. Kids would always argue over who would be the best police officer. They would run around the playground playing "Cops and Robbers", testing each other's heroic abilities. Then, there was me. Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to study some sort of science. My mom has always worked in the medical field, so as soon as she got home I would ask what she did that day. It was always different. Some days she would be working with a patient with cancer and others she would be removing an arm or leg due to a horrific car accident. It all kept me entertained as a child and has since. Although I knew what subject of study I wanted to go into, I never knew the specific field. There were so many options. You could be a physician, surgeon, or a research scientist. The list goes on and will continue to grow as new fields are developed. There is one deciding factor for everyone, though. There is always that one moment or event that caused a feeling of awe. A desire to learn more. This feeling came to me in my sophomore year of high school. Walking Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Persuasive Essay "Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics," announced Mr. Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line. I have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk. Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. "What is your topic Cindy?" As usual in such desperate times, my mind turned to food. "Waffles are better than pancakes." I figured that a waffle was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. "Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward to your essay!" I survived to live yet another day. As I walked to lunch, I went around and asked everyone the age old question: "Do you like Get more content on HelpWriting.net

You spot a spike trap, you turn sharply, but it's too late! Bang! The sun–faded hula girl on the dashboard dances to the sound of rubber slapping against highway. You climb out of your battle barge, open the cargo hatch and see the rig's last spare tire, sitting on top of it is a red cooler; sweaty from the desert sun. Follow this simple guide to changing a flat tire and you will be held aloft by your war party in celebration, or fail and be consumed by the poison gas cloud that pursues you. • 20. Writing A Persuasive Essay It's a simple enough idea, write an essay about a topic for credit. I'll admit I've written good essays in the past, I just have one issue with this topic; I am not a persuasive person. I don't have a passion to write about, or an idea in my head. Even if I was passionate about something, I doubt I have the skill to convince you. My arguments would consist of why I like the topic (or hate it) with an extreme bias, and I doubt that you would be moved. I couldn't convince you that the long hours of school take a toll on the students. Even if others agree with me, the way I word things, the lack of passion and my lack of being able to be assertive is the reason why I can't write this essay. First things first, the way I word my thoughts. Regardless ...show more content... You'll get this definition: "The writer takes a stand on an issue–either "for" or "against"–and builds the strongest possible argument to win over the reader. In a persuasive essay, it's the writer's job to convince the reader to accept a particular point of view or take a specific action." Along with a bunch of How Tos. I've have taken a stand that is very passive–aggressive, on why I can't write this essay. I know what you're thinking, this is ridiculous. Just think of it like this, as you sit there reading me ramble on and give excuses. You're starting to listen. Yes, you have been in my spot before, lack of passion words don't form right and you're just not clear enough. I see the irony here, this very essay, it contradicts itself. A persuasive essay on why I can't write a persuasive essay. In the end it's genius, I'm not faking an opinion or sing someone's thoughts. You might have considered this option before but it seemed too stupid. You looked up prompt after prompt. Nothing. When you finally settle you know it's not your best work and the grade shows. Or you did it last minute, reworded someone else's essay. You've even considered turning in nothing, I mean what's the point Get more content on HelpWriting.net
