The LGBT community has faced much difficulty and mistreatment in U.S. society for many years. They long advocated for acceptance and protection from abuse. One of their hardest fought battles was for the right to marry, which was finally granted by the Supreme Court in 2015. However, this decision was criticized by some holding religious beliefs that view homosexuality as sinful. Now some religious organizations deny services to LGBT couples, believing it sinful to participate, but others see this as discrimination, as stores should not deny any customer for any reason.
