Redemption is a capacity that both Amir from the remarkable novel Kite Runner, written by Khaled
Hosseni along with Walt Kalwoski the main character of the unforgettable movie Gran Tornio,
directed by Clint Eastwood, withhold. Both Walt and Amir were collided with life changing events
that later shaped the individuals they are today. Nevertheless, throughout both stories, the
protagonists are faced with opportunities to redeem themselves, often at the risk of hurting their
loved ones more than they already have. There is a reason for everything and in Walt and Amirs
case that saying is quite evident. Walt and Amir are two completely divergent characters with
opposite personalities. However, this doesn t interfere with the fact that both... Show more content

Amir s journey to redemption has its few differences from Walt s path. In the beginning of Kite

because of the fact that Amir s mother passed away giving birth to him. Therefore, Amir does as
much as he can to get Baba to stop hating him. Amir is determined to redeem himself to Baba s.
Amir goes out of his way and makes winning the Kite tournament is ultimate goal to gain Baba s
love, attention along with redemption. But all I heard all I willed myself to hear was the blue

like they said in school, then he d let me win. I didn t know what the other guy was playing for,
maybe just bragging rights. But this was my one chance to become someone who was looked at,
not seen, listened to, not heard.(Hosseini page 69) In other words, Amir attempts to use the victory
of the Kite tournament as a way to fix his relationship with Baba. This is awfully similar to Walt s
situation. At the Lor BBQ in Gran Tornio, Youa gets curious as

Assignment 2 Duloxetine Peer Response
Assignment Two Duloxetine Peer Response I thought you provided a thorough look on Cymbalta
and biblical background for the use of medications for depression. I found it interesting that
Cymbalta can be used for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder
(GAD), Fibromyalgia, Musculoskeletal pain, and Diabetic peripheral neuropathy. I would be
fascinated in exploring more about how Cymbalta helps with other disorders since it is listed
primarily as an antidepressant. I am wondering if the medication reduces their depressive emotions
about their diagnoses which then help with their pain. It appears, many of the studies you found
observed significant reduction in depressive symptoms with treatment for MDD and GAD. Li et al.

Paul s Ministry to Thessalonica Essay
The Apostle Paul was a traveling man. One must simply look at the various places where he
preached and established churches to confirm this fact. The letters of Paul found in the canonical
Bible establish connections with Rome, Corinth, Galatia, Ephesus, Philippi, Colossae, and
Thessalonica. Paul was heavily involved with the formation of the church in the final location, a
city now known as Thessalonki, and continued to support it through his letters. The church in
Thessalonica dealt with much oppression and persecution during its formativeyears. That kind of
beginning contributed to much uncertainty in the young church, especially considering that Paul, its
founder, was not always with them. Paul s ministry to the church can be found in... Show more

Not finding the two leaders, they attacked the house of new convert, drug him and several other
believers before city authorities, and accused them of seeking to cause disturbance. The converts
were released on bail and Paul and Silas were hurried off to another city.[2] From the very beginning
the Christians in Thessalonica were in a hostile environment.
The issue of persecution continues to exist in Pauls letters to the Thessalonians. At the beginning of
1 Thessalonians 2, Paul recalls the opposition that the gospel message faced when he first visited
the city. Thankfully, Paul did not just write about the hardship that persecution brought. We learn
from his writings that Paul addressed the troubles that the church was currently facing by sending
Timothy to help the Thessalonians deal with the opposition that they faced. He is encouraged when
Timothy returns with a positive report of the churchs faith and love.[3] Paul was honest with the
believers about the nature of persecution. The apostle writes that he warned those in Thessalonica
that such oppression would occur. In fact, when we were with you, we told you beforehand that we
were to suffer persecution; so it turned out, as you know.[4] One of the key aspects in helping those
that are struggling is encouragement. Paul attempted to encourage the church when he wrote about
Timothys glowing assessment of the

Knowledge Management Is Critical to the World Bank s Future
Knowledge Management is critical to the World Bank s future. Knowledge Management is a
subset of IT and that the needs for KM were easily satisfied with technology based solution. A
first shortcoming lies with senior leadership, many at the top of the bank equated KM early on
with various IT based initiatives such as the global distance learning network or the development
gateway. As a result, leadership never fully appreciated the peculiar characteristics of knowledge at
the bank or its deeply social aspects.
There are few issues in this case study some of the important issues are:
Lake of coordination between the middle manager and operation staff
Reporting to CIO
Inconsistency in one team
Institutionalizing KM practices into their day to day work.
Knowledge Management is one of the most recent change administration methodologies, basically
investigated by business, administration and steadily by the IT groups. The objective of knowledge
management is to capture, store, keep up and convey valuable learning in a significant structure to
any individual who needs it wherever and whenever inside an association. Fundamentally,
knowledge management is coordinated effort at the association level. Knowledge Management can
possibly alter the method for joint effort and use registering.
As information systems have multiplied in associations, it has been a regular conclusion to expect
the expanded capability of utilizing current data innovations, for example, Internet, intranets,

Summary of Theodore Roethke s Poem My Papa s Waltz
Affection in My Papa s Waltz
Theodore Roethke s My Papa s Waltz is a gentle poem, made so by its affectionate and simple
tone, its innocence, its light heartedness, and its humor. While other readers, like John Ciardi,
have found it to be a poem of terror (Fong 80), when one considers the original drafts, as John J.
McKenna does, one sees a much less forbidding melodrama and a much more down to earth
representation of home life. This paper will show how Roethke s Waltz uses language, tone, and
rhyme to convey, with childlike sensibility, a happy image of an energetic dancewith one s father.
Roethke s corrections in the original draft seem to be geared towards removing any type of
suggestive language or imagery that might rob the poem of its lightheartedness. In the original
draft, the boy is a girl and the mother s countenance / Could not unscrew itself (McKenna 35).
Apparently the sexual connotations of the latter term were to be avoided and the closeness of a
small, dizzy girl to whiskey on your breath was likely an unwanted image as well. By replacing the
girl with a boy, and changing unscrew to unfrown, Roethke removed from the poem the two main
potential obstacles: abusive, neglectful tone and sexual imagery. Carefully observing the
suggestions associated to terms in the English language, Roethke sets the reader in front of a scene
of rough housing between father and son, with mother looking on disapprovingly (but comically)
because their

Why Is Lincoln s Assassination Justified
On April 14th, 1865, John Wilkes Booth kidnaped and assassinated Abraham Lincoln. It was a
mournful day for individuals of the U.S . Meanwhile, Booth wanted to protect the South against the
Union. He had co conspirators by his side who attempted to kidnap the president several times but
ended in failure. Many think Booth should have done something different to change Lincoln s idea
of abolishing slavery. Although John Wilkes Booth did something wrong for the right reason, it
will never be justified because there is always a different alternative.
Being motivated to do harsh actions leads to jealousy, which develops a person to do anything for
their own satisfaction. Considering the fact, Booth compares himself to Brutus which was the
Roman statesman who murdered Julius Caesar. Brutus and his fellow Roman senators feared
Caesar wanted to become the dictator of the republic. In the article, Last Diary Entry of John
Wilkes Booth , Booth states, I am here in despair. And why? For doing what Brutus was honored
for. What made Tell a hero? And yet I, for striving down a greater tyrant... (1). This means... Show

Booth s assassination toward Lincoln did not make a difference after all since the African
Americans received their freedom. In the other hand, after Caesar s death, Rome comes into a
cycle of civil wars which leads to an empire. The citizens of Rome are unhappy about the
upcoming wars, they thought the killing of Caesar will make their problems go away but instead it
leads to more chaotic situations. In the article, The Telegraph , it states, With Caesar gone, Rome
spiraled into another cycle of civil wars, which resulted in one of the most significant constitutional
transformations in history (19). This means, the citizens of Rome regret not having Caesar as their
leader. They would rather have Caesar than to deal with civil

Modern Traditionalism Vs Modernism
The period of the twentieth century, specifically the nineteen twenties, was a historically
significant event in history due to the dramatic changes politically and socially. In this time
period there was many altercations between two specific groups who had completely different
outlooks on change. Modernists, or people who tended to be in favor of new ideas, styles and
social trends, embraced the idea of change during this time period whereas traditionalist, or people
who are opposed to change, had deep respect for long held cultural and religious values that they
believed should not be broken under any circumstances. The disputes between the traditionalist and
modernist over religious beliefs made way into the woman s lives leaving pop culture to rise rapidly.
In the centuries leading up to the Jazz and the Machine Age , the nineteen twenties was in a major
dispute over religious beliefs between the traditionalist and the modernists. In 1925, a trial was held
that was known as the Scopes trial. John scopes, a high school teacher, taught the theory of
evolution in a Tennessee public high school. At the time, Tennessee had a state law they made it
illegal to teach evolution in schools. The modernists had believed that the teachings of evolution
gave the public another perspective through science but not religion. The traditionalist however,
feared that the teaching of the Bible would be lost along with religious morals if Scope had won
the trial. Traditionalist had

The aim of this reflective essay is to evaluate my professional development whilst undertaking the
role of the Developing Intra Operative Practitioner/ Advanced Scrub Practitioner (ASP). Using a
reflective model I want to see how my new role affects me as an Operating Department
Practitioner (ODP) and any legal implications it has for me as an employee.
For this assignment I have decided to use the Gibbs (1988) date model of reflection and will base
the assignment on prevention of Surgical Site Infection (SSI) in relation to the operative procedure

Fig. 1) Gibbs Model of Reflection. (BCU, 2005)
My practical competencies have been obtained through working with a general and orthopaedic
surgeon. Whilst working with my clinical supervisor, (a consultant orthopaedic surgeon) we
decided it would be beneficial to review orthopaedic wound infections. I chose to concentrate on
wound infections during a Total Hip Replacement (THR). Wound infections is a massive subject
so I have selected specific areas to look at, which are: * Skin Preparations.
* Draping.
Surgical site infections (SSI) occur in 2 5% of clean non abdominal surgical procedures (Rothrock,
2007). Staphylococcus epidermidis is the most common cause for SSI in Orthopaedic surgery
(NICE, 2008). Guidelines were produced by the National Institute for Health and Clinical
Excellence (NICE) to try and reduce this infection rate and include a preoperative phase, (including
hair removal and antibiotic prophylaxis), an intra operative phase and postoperative phase.
The majority of SSIs become apparent within 30 days of an operative procedure and most often
between the 5th and 10th postoperative days. However, where a prosthetic implant is used, SSI
affecting the deeper tissues may occur many years after the initial operation.
SSI are measured by definitions from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or the
Surgical Site Infection Surveillance Service, other valid measures based on clinical signs and

Sodium is the major cation (positively charged ion) which is present in the ECF. The normal
range for sodium is 135 145mEq/L. Sodium plays a role in fluid balance, osmotic pressure, muscle
contraction and can be regulated by a sodium potassium pump. When there are deficiencies in
sodium (i.e. 145mEq/L) are known as hypernatremia. The kidneys try to counteract this by secreting
ADH to retain water. Hyperaldosteronism (increased aldosterone levels which increase sodium
reabsorption) can be another cause of hypernatremia. Other causes can include excessive fluid loss,
high salt intake and increased kidney reabsorption. Symptoms of hypernatremia include
dehydration, fever or coma.
Overall regulating electrolytes are vital to maintaining a balance in keeping homeostatic conditions.
Acid base balance must also be sustained to enable maximum function of the kidneys. Both
electrolytes and acid base balance are important components regulated by the kidney and lungs to
some extent; and keeping equilibrium and balanced levels will be beneficial for a healthy
functionality of the kidneys.

Essay on Power of Nuclear Energy
Abstract
The use of nuclear energy is a big topic for debate. Many countries have fully embraced it while
others, such as the U. S., haven t. Nuclear energy is feared for its danger and scorned because of
its wastes. On the other hand, nuclear energy does have some pros like cheaper cost of energy and
environmentally safe. Reactor breeders show great promise in nuclear waste, but are it enough to
convince the nation?
Introduction
Nuclear knowledge has existed for a long time. Nuclear Engineering U.S. Department of Energy
relates, ―By 1900, the physicists knew the atom contains large quantities of energy‖ (par 11).
Many others formed good theories, such as Ernest Rutherford and Einstein s contribution with his
equation E=mc^2. In 1934 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nuclear Engineering U.S. Department of Energy explains that, ― It [self sustaining chain] would
happen if enough uranium could be brought together under proper conditions‖ (par 19).
The result of all this talk was that in 1942 Fermi gathered scientists at the University of Chicago
to discuss their theories and possibly create a self sustaining chain reaction. By November of that
year they had constructed plans and were prepared to build this new model known as Chicago Pile
1. Nuclear Engineering U.S. Department of Energy describes the model as, ―In addition to
uranium and graphite, it contained control rods made of cadmium. Cadmium is a metallic element
that absorbs neutrons. When the rods were in the pile, there were fewer neutrons to fission uranium
atoms. This slowed the chain reaction. When the rods were pulled out, more neutrons were
available to split atoms. The chain reaction sped up‖(par 21). In December of 1942 the scientists
were ready to demonstrate their hard work. This was a huge break through in the nuclear world.
Most of the early research done on nuclear energy consisted of trying to make nuclear weapons.
The experiments were performed in New Mexico under the name of the Manhattan Project. Their
efforts were a success with the creation of the first atom bomb. After World War II though, the use
of nuclear energy was turned more peaceful uses. In 1946 Congress created the Atomic Energy

How Did Rockefeller s Monopolies
The monopoly of oil created by Rockefeller caused smaller business to go out of business or
make it very unprofitable for them to function. The regular oil companies could not compete with
the Standard Oil Company, for they were trying to put smaller companies out of business.
Rockefeller joined with competing companies in trust agreements. Participants in a trust turned
their stock over to a group of trustees. This made it so you either had to join the bigger company
or stop selling oil because it would not be profitable. The first hand account of this happening
shows the negative effects to big businesses. How could a business survive when it is being
attacked by a monopoly that was formed illegally? The Sherman Antitrust Actmade this illegal. The
large businesses forming monopolies would say this is the point of capitalism. They can sell their
better product for whatever they want. Is it really illegal to undercut prices, but it is morally
wrong to do. Unfortunately the owners of the monopolies did not care about others they only
cared about themselves. Overall the monopolies formed by Rockefeller, Carnegie, and Pullman
were very beneficial to themselves, but to no one else that wasn t making money. The next
document is about how Carnegie feels about giving money away. Carnegie claims that to be rich
you must show that you are rich. You must have shunning displays that show wealth. People have
to look up to you for answers. People have to want to be you and they must

The Differences Between Vascular And Nonvascular Plants
Land plants can be divided into three different groups. One of these groups are nonvascular plants
which include liverworts, hornworts, and mosses. The other two which are the focus of this paper
are vascular seedless plants and vascular seed plants. The difference between vascular and
nonvascular plants is that vascular plants have vascular tissue which enables them to grow up and
be bigger than nonvascular plants. The difference between seedand seedless vascular plants is the
presence of a seed. A seed is defined by the 10th Edition of Campbell Biology as an adaption of
some terrestrial plants consisting of an embryo packaged along with a store of food within a
protective coat. This includes anything from apple seeds to dandelion seeds. The absence or
presence of a seed changes how a plantreproduces and also leads to different advantages and
disadvantages to the plant. Seedless vascular plants include such plants as ferns, horsetails, club
mosses, and whisk ferns. They live in wet environments because they require water for
reproduction. They reproduce through the use of spores. Using ferns as an example the spores
are found on the underside of the leaves. They are found in cases called sori and each sorus holds
many spores which are haploid. Spores are released and they form gametophytes. Gametophytes
make gametes which are also haploid and both the egg and the sperm of the fernare created in the
gametophyte, but in different parts. The egg is made in the

Dementi A Clinical State Caused By Neurodegeneration Essay
Dementia is a clinical state caused by neurodegeneration and characterized by a loss of function in
cognitive domains and behavior. There are several different causes of dementia including
Alzheimer s disease (AD), vascular dementia, dementia with Lewy bodies, and frontotemporal
dementia (FTD). Hippocampal sclerosis of aging (HS aging) is prevalent in people of advance age,
manifests with distinct neuropathological properties, and can be present with or without other
dementia causes and vascular diseases [1].
Although HS aging is poorly understood, this phenomena may describe a proportion of non AD
dementia [2]. The prevalence of HS aging pathology ranges from 5 to 30% in older people [3 6].
HS aging is generally diagnosed postmortem by the presence of TAR DNA binding protein 43
(TDP 43). The clinical signs and symptoms of HS aging are similar to those of AD with amnestic
memory deficits [7, 8]. Because of the overlapping symptomology, HS aging is often clinically
misdiagnosed as AD [7 9]. AD is characterized by accumulation of amyloid plaques and
neurofibrillary tangles [10], while HS aging is pathologically characterized by neuronal loss with
gliosis in the subiculum and Cornu Ammonis area 1 (CA1) region of the hippocampus, which can
occur unilaterally or bilaterally [6, 7].
Genetic risk factors for HS aging have been recently identified. Unlike AD, the apolipoprotein E4
(APOE4) genotype is not a risk factor for HS aging [11]. Potassium channel subfamily M regulatory

Globalizatio Foer Chapter Summary
Globalization implies distinctive things to diverse individuals. To the individuals who support it, it
speaks to less explanations behind outfitted clashes, more open doors for getting away from the
bounds custom and bias, a higher expectation for everyday comforts, and more access to the great
things of life; so, private enterprise and majority rules system. To the individuals who doubt it or
disdain it, it implies the submersion of national power, the elimination of territorial societies, the
advancement of multinational enterprises and the chapter 11 of corner stores, the undermining of
religion, and the defilement of profound quality; to put it plainly, private enterprise and popular
government.

One answer is that in the 1920 s Jewish groups set out to demonstrate their pundits wrong in

The Street Empire
The United States has had its share of economic prosperity, but none as thriving as the 1920s era,
labeled the Roaring Twenties . The 1920s era saw great political and social change to the United
States society. The US economy blossomed, and the nation s total wealth more than doubled in
the 1920s era. As a result of this social and political change as well as the success of the economy,
transformed many Americans into a consumer society . The great economic success during the
time period also created an excess of money to spend, which was used and spent aimlessly on
unnecessary luxuries due to the fact that it was affordable and accessible. During this time period,
some freedoms were expanded while others were restricted. Evidence of this is the ratification of
the 18th amendment, banning the production and sale of alcohol. Although the purpose of the law
was to prevent alcohol related crimes, the 18th amendment created a greater demand for alcohol.
Renegades became common, and many people would purchase bootlegged alcohol through illegal
manners. Criminals and gangsters viewed the prohibition as a method of making money fast, and
created an organized system concentrated on manufacturing and distributing of alcoholic beverages.
Organized crimehas always been notoriously feared; however, they became successful during the
Prohibition era in the 1920s. They established an organized system and evolved into a successful,
established, and dangerous organization that

Absolutism During The Period Of The Enlightenment
As Plato once wrote, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This concept can apply to many ideas,
other than beauty. How similar governments are run is a good example of how something could be
fundamentally the same, but in reality very different. Absolutism during the period of the
Enlightenment can show many differences, even though the concept is the same. Absolutism is the
form of governmentwhere power is concentrated in the hands of an individual. In an absolute
monarchy, the monarch exhibits and exercises unrestrained, supreme power over the people. A
strong centralized government is the key to the success of an absolute monarchy. Monarchs could
create a strong government in their hands through various means, but all monarchs exercised the
four characteristics of an absolute monarch no matter what they did to keep their country under
control, but still powerful. The methods of exercising the four characteristics of absolutism had
many similarities and differences. The contemporary monarchs, King Louis XIV of Franceand Tsar
Peter the Great of Russia, display the similarities and differences that are demonstrated between
absolute monarchs. The similarities and differences in the four characteristics of an absolute
monarchy, divine right, skilled administration, control of the economy, and a professional army, are
good examples of how something can differ in practise, but still be fundamentally similar. Divine
right is characterized by the belief that the authority of

The Communist threat inside the country has been magnified and exalted far beyond its
realities (273). Accusations have been made, irresponsible citizens are spreading fears.
Multiples of suspicions had been made. Innocents are being considered as disloyalty. Suspicion
grows until only the person who loudly proclaims the orthodox view, or who, once having been
a Communist, has been converted, is trustworthy (273). Suspects are those who are unorthodox,
who does not followed military policymakers. The fear has driven citizens to the folds of the
orthodox. The fear was to be investigated, to lose one s job, etc. These fears have driven many
people to sorrow. These fears have effected younger generations. This pattern of orthodoxy that

The Environment Protection Agency s New Clean Power Plan

Consol Energy is heavily involved in two major industries: coal and natural gas. This is an
interesting situation given that the two industries directly compete against one another. As a result,
Consol is diversified and strategically projected against the risk of downturn in either profit stream.
Coal Industry
The coal industry has a gloomy economic forecast going forward. The U.S. Environment
Protection Agency s new Clean Power Plan (a part of the Clean Air Act) causes much
uncertainty for corporations like Consol. It was proposed by the EPA in June of 2014. The goal of
the Clean Power Plan is to decrease CO2 emissions by 30 percent in the year 2030 from 2005
levels. Already, it has had an impact on the internal... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prices for coal are currently down. This drop has coincided with the drop in oil prices.
Originally, it was expected that these two prices would be tied together, and that the drop would
be quite temporary. However, the longer that coal has been down, the more likely it looks like it
is down for the count so to speak. Many analysts believe that there has been an over production
of coal in the past decade and the market has been saturated as a result. With every passing month
that coal s prices stay low, and the supplies keep growing, it becomes less likely that things will
turn around for the better in a permanent manner. Even with the rest of the world playing catchup
with the transition to zero carbon intensive energy sources, the U.S. coal exports have been
extremely low. China, for instance, has imported less in recent years. At one point, they were
helping to drive our export market. In response to the lower demand, many mining corporations
have begun to optimize their operations. This has been done by focusing on lower mining
production costs, cheaper transportation costs, and favorable exchange rates. The goal is to keep
operations from further declining profit wise as the U.S. Energy Information Administration
expects a 7% decrease in total coal consumption for the year 2015. This decline in coal
consumption will likely cause a decline in coal production, causing a decline in jobs for states such
as Wyoming, West Virginia, Kentucky, Illinois, and

Reconciliation And The Forgotten African American
Written Assignment 3: Reconciliation and the Forgotten African American Jessica Howell
History 2010 Dr. Michael Ramey December 3, 2015 Howell 2 The Campaign rhetoric of Horace
Greeley in 1872, the religious revivals of D.L. Moody, and the yellow fever epidemic of 1878
influenced northern white attitudes regarding African Americans in the South in a way that
actually had a negative impact. I had no idea these three events could have had the ability to, in a
sense, set back the progress that could and should have been for African Americans. To me, it is
not so much of an attitude whites had regarding African Americans as much as a complete erasure
from their memories as to what should have been happening with regard to helping the African
American population to properly integrate into American society. Horace Greeley had been a
strong abolitionist for many years and was concerned about the newly freed African American
people. Greeley had championed a program of economic assistance education and equal rights for
African Americans (McPherson). However, Greeley seemed to abandon his original ideas and
moved more towards a priority of reconciliation between the North and the South. Greeley s ideas
for reconciliation and forgiveness for the South led many to believe the South would return to an
environment that would have bee far worse than what the South had been prior to the Civil War.

How Bone And Osteoporosis Related Injuries
Bone
Bone is a form of collagen; a protein that creates the structure and with calcium phosphate makes
this structure hard and strong. Collagen and calcium make bone strong and flexible enough to
withstand stress (National Library of Medicine, 2016). Bone is considered a living tissue and
everyday undergoes reproduction as any other tissue. As much of 99 percent of the calcium in the
body is in the bones and teeth, and the 1 percent is in the bloodstream.
There are two types of bone in the human body; Cortical bone is dense and compact, forms the
outer layer of the bone and the trabecular bone forms the inner layer of the bone and is known as
spongy bone (National Library of Medicine, 2016).
Definition
Osteoporosis makes bones weak and brittle; fragile bones can easily be fractured. With
osteoporosis, a fall or mild stresses cause a fracture. Most of the Osteoporosis related injuries are

The Positive And Negative Effects Of The Endangered...
The Effects of the Endangered Species Act Thirty seven different species of animals have
recovered their population since being placed on the endangered species list, yet over two
thousand still remain. The purpose of the Endangered Species Act is to save those species that are
either considered threatened or endangered, and provide them with the habitat they need to thrive
in . In 1973, this act was passed, and it has been in action ever since(NOAA Fisheries). While it
has been successful at recovering the populations of some species, it has been very ineffective at
doing so with others, sometimes the ones who need the help most. The Endangered SpeciesAct is a
controversial topic because it has both positive and negative effects. First and foremost, the
Endangered Species Act is a good thing for animals because it helps to recover species populations.

Probation has been called the workhorse of the juvenile justice system according to the Office of
Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, probation is the most common disposition in juvenile
cases that receive a juvenile court sanction. In an average year, about half of all minors judged to
be delinquent receive probation as the most restrictive sentence. Specific terms of probation vary
widely from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, and from case to case. Typically, a juvenile must obey both
the general terms of probation and any additional requirements tailored to the particular case. The
court usually expects that parents or a guardian will help the juvenile fulfill the conditions of the
probation order. These conditions can include community service, attendance at a certain school,
counseling, curfews, and orders that the juvenile not associate with certain individuals (as in cases
involving suspected gang members). As part of probation, some juveniles must attend special day
treatment programs that provide additional monitoring and educational services including anger
management classes, social skills building, and substance abuse education. Probation Officers A
juvenile placed on probation is assigned to a probation officer who monitors the youth s

Essay on The Horse Fair by Rosa Bonheur
The Horse Parade Dozens of horses are charging through the fair grounds, each hoof vibrating the
ground, which causes chaos to erupt. Some horses are white as for a person of royalty, and others
a mysterious brown. Through all this chaos, Rosa Bonheur paints what is before her. Her painting
is called The HorseFair. The painting itself is 8 feet tall by 16 feet wide.1 The Horse Fair is
located at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.1 Bonheur uses a panoramic view in her painting.2
The Horse Fair was inspired by the horse market that Rosa Bonheur use to visit on Boulevard De
l Ho М‚pital.1 The building in the upper far left of the painting is called Asylum on Salpetriere,
which is located in Paris.3 The people on the hill in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bonheur was an important figure in women s right; she herself reflects the social movement for
women. She was a women that didn t let society s standards keep her down; she worked hard to
build her career. Bonheur was the first woman in France to get a permit to wear pants.1 The
police s reasoning for allowing Rosa this permit was because of health, and her doctor co signed
the permit.1 The slaughterhouses and fairgrounds would dirty her dresses thus it was impractical
for her to wear a dress. Bonheur was smart she knew what wearing pants would do to her career.1
She knew buyers would not purchase paintings that came from a woman who wore pants, so
Bonheur would wear dresses to social events. Naturalism in art is both a style and a theory of
accurate representation of details in demonstrating an object or living thing.2 For example, to
portray an animal anatomically correctly, one needs to see the animals from the inside out. Similar
to Leonardo Da Vinci, Bonheur would dissect the animal to understand the anatomy.1 Unlike Da
Vinci, Bonheur strictly dissected animals. Being anatomically correct is a huge key in making a
piece of work realistic. The purpose of explaining her work is to prove that Rosa Bonheur displays
naturalism through her painting. Rosa Bonheur used many structural elements in creating The
Horse Fair; in addition to Bonheur s anatomical accuracy, she used chiaroscuro, and color to display
naturalism. Bonheur uses

Digital Marketing Essay
You Will Always Cut It With Any Of These Digital Marketing Techniques
Digital marketing keeps growing more and more everyday. Right now, digital marketing is a big
umbrella of several marketing techniques. This is why it is now much more expensive to hire a
digital marketing service provider.
Every mobile app development company includes digital marketing tools in their app. A good
example is the single push button with which you can send posts to all the users of your app. The
common digital marketing techniques have been outlined right below.
1.Social media marketing
People are now generally obsessed with social media like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter... etc. So,
digital marketers take advantage by creating social media account to ... Show more content on

The suggestion will hold water as other participants will take it as a non biased opinion.
3.Email marketing
Digital advertisers send marketing emails to people that have subscribed for their newsletters.
However, before each mail is sent, there will be some profiling. The people who may need the
product are then filtered out. For instance, if the product is ladies shoes, it will be sent to only
ladies. And guys will be left out.
Email marketing has a lot of advantages. It is sent directly to only the intended recipients. It is also
about the most cost effective marketing techniques. Besides, you can be able to track who received
the mail and who didn t.
4.Google adwords
Google AdWords are keywords people are expected to type into Google searchengine when
looking for certain products or services. As a company, you are supposed to link these keywords
to relevant landing pages on your website. This means that when you adopt keywords like Buy a
cheap raincoat , you are supposed to link it to the exact landing page on your website that has all
the raincoats you offer and the price of each of them. It is wrong to link it to your home page as it
will waste the prospective buyer s time and also earn you low quality score.
For Google to display your site on its search engine result page (SERP), you have to submit it to
Google. However, Google has its own set of procedures for displaying results. On its own, Google
has to find, crawl and analyze

Why News Ownership Affects Free Press And Press Censorship...
The importance of news media ownership has been both a contemporary and historical issue that
has had significant effects on the way in which the press operates and influences society. This
essay examines why the ownership of the news media is of importance to society. In order to
examine this fully the essay will discuss why news ownership affects free press and press
censorship, why it can be seen to change the nature of political communication, and why is it is
important that it affects the circuit of communication and the ways in which the public receive news.
One reason why it matters who owns the news media is that is can be seen to affect the levels of
free press within a state, determining therefore how regulated or censored information becomes.
The freedom of the press is a factor that is highly influenced by the organisations and public figures
that own the news media. Government ownership of the media, particularly authoritarian regimes,
can be seen to limit the levels of free press a country has. Barker (2006, p. 5) argues that
authoritarian regimes regularly try to censor or control the mass media s provision of vision and
information . His argument therefore suggests that if the state has a strong control of the news
media, they are more easily able to alter the information that the public receive. For example in
North Korea, newspapers, such as the official party mouthpiece Rodong Sinmun, are all owned by
the state (BBC, 2011). This therefore allows the

At Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, Lt. Richard Pratt worked closely with Indians and had a certain respect for
the Indians. Pratt advocated to General Sheridan to reform the Indians. Pratt had them moved by
train to St. Augustine, Florida. At Ft. Marion, Florida the Indians underwent an experiment to
change them. The Indians were dressed in army uniforms and had their hair cut to resemble the
white man s image. The purpose was to assimilate the Indians and wash out an resemblance of
native culture. Pratt recruited local volunteers to help teach the IndianIndian prisoners english.
They were taught to work and serve the community. Pratt believed education would save the Indians
during a time of industrialization. He enrolled the Indians in a black school.

On-Campus Garden Persuasive Essay
Sustainability is something we talk about a lot. It s taught to kids in elementary and middle
schools now, but when I was in primary school it was not heavily focused on. There has been
shift in priorities between generations, and I feel that it s very hard to get my generation on
board with living in a sustainable manner. I once gave a speech on the importance of recycling
that almost put the entire class to sleep. I think this is because my generation does not care, it s
not their problem, the idea of the earth not supporting them is not something that has been
brought to their doorstep, and in a manner of speaking they are unaware that their actions have
negative consequences. My ideas for making the Grand View campus more eco friendly is a
three fold process fully incorporated to form a closed loop. First, I believe we should have a(n)
on campus garden(s) where students are responsible for caring for crops which could be consumed
in the cafeteria or used in a food pantry. Second, we should harvest rainwater for use in the gardens

In this example, the school installed a 50,000 gallon tank below the frost level in the ground. The
tank is made from recycled plastic. The water is stored in the underground tank and then it is
cleaned before it is transferred to a 600 gallon holding tank in the basement of the school
(Pushard, n.d.). This water is used in the toilets and in the irrigation systems. Any flushed water or
overflow rainwater goes into the on site wetlands which are a rubber lined rock filled pond where
plants are grown in septic water and the micro organisms and plants feed off the pollutants. The
clean water is then pumped into the ground to help recharge the aquifer (Pushard,

Benefits Of Electronic Medical Record
Introduction
There are many benefits of using electronic medical record (EMR). This paper will discuss the
benefits of electronic medical record for the physicians, patients, and the healthcare organizations.
Benefits of EMR for Physicians There are so many benefits for physicians to use electronic medical
record, for example, they can eliminate a tremendous amount of paperwork since most of their
charting is done on the computer. Another advantage of using electronic medical recordis the fact
that it allows for easy transfer of data or information to other departments or medical providers.
This ability of the electronic medical record helps to eliminate errors, it also less time consuming
and it prevents physicians and patients from repeating the same test. It also helps to prevent
patients from over exposing their body to unnecessary radiation. It is also important to note that
healthcare insurance is also enjoying this feature of the electronic medical record since they are
saving money whereby they will not have to pay for duplicate testing. The electronic medical
record being able to transfer patients data and information from one provider to the next is
important since it allows collaborations among various departments and healthcare facilities, also,
physicians do not have to worry about paperwork being misplaced or misfiled. Most patients find
themselves at some time or another gone to another healthcare facility that is not affiliated with
their current

I would be fascinated in exploring more about how Cymbalta helps with other disorders since it is listed primarily as an antidepressant. • 4. Paul s Ministry to Thessalonica Essay The Apostle Paul was a traveling man. One must simply look at the various places where he preached and established churches to confirm this fact. The letters of Paul found in the canonical Bible establish connections with Rome, Corinth, Galatia, Ephesus, Philippi, Colossae, and Thessalonica. Paul was heavily involved with the formation of the church in the final location, a city now known as Thessalonki, and continued to support it through his letters. The church in Thessalonica dealt with much oppression and persecution during its formativeyears. That kind of beginning contributed to much uncertainty in the young church, especially considering that Paul, its founder, was not always with them. Paul s ministry to the church can be found in... Not finding the two leaders, they attacked the house of new convert, drug him and several other believers before city authorities, and accused them of seeking to cause disturbance. The converts were released on bail and Paul and Silas were hurried off to another city.[2] From the very beginning the Christians in Thessalonica were in a hostile environment. The issue of persecution continues to exist in Pauls letters to the Thessalonians. At the beginning of 1 Thessalonians 2, Paul recalls the opposition that the gospel message faced when he first visited the city. Thankfully, Paul did not just write about the hardship that persecution brought. We learn from his writings that Paul addressed the troubles that the church was currently facing by sending Timothy to help the Thessalonians deal with the opposition that they faced. He is encouraged when Timothy returns with a positive report of the churchs faith and love.[3] Paul was honest with the believers about the nature of persecution. The apostle writes that he warned those in Thessalonica that such oppression would occur. In fact, when we were with you, we told you beforehand that we were to suffer persecution; so it turned out, as you know.[4] One of the key aspects in helping those that are struggling is encouragement. • 6. Summary of Theodore Roethke s Poem My Papa s Waltz Affection in My Papa s Waltz Theodore Roethke s My Papa s Waltz is a gentle poem, made so by its affectionate and simple tone, its innocence, its light heartedness, and its humor. While other readers, like John Ciardi, have found it to be a poem of terror (Fong 80), when one considers the original drafts, as John J. McKenna does, one sees a much less forbidding melodrama and a much more down to earth representation of home life. This paper will show how Roethke s Waltz uses language, tone, and rhyme to convey, with childlike sensibility, a happy image of an energetic dancewith one s father. Roethke s corrections in the original draft seem to be geared towards removing any type of suggestive language or imagery that might rob the poem of its lightheartedness. In the original draft, the boy is a girl and the mother s countenance / Could not unscrew itself (McKenna 35). Apparently the sexual connotations of the latter term were to be avoided and the closeness of a small, dizzy girl to whiskey on your breath was likely an unwanted image as well. By replacing the girl with a boy, and changing unscrew to unfrown, Roethke removed from the poem the two main potential obstacles: abusive, neglectful tone and sexual imagery. Carefully observing the suggestions associated to terms in the English language, Roethke sets the reader in front of a scene of rough housing between father and son, with mother looking on disapprovingly (but comically) because their ... Sodium is the major cation (positively charged ion) which is present in the ECF. The normal range for sodium is 135 145mEq/L. Sodium plays a role in fluid balance, osmotic pressure, muscle contraction and can be regulated by a sodium potassium pump. When there are deficiencies in sodium (i.e. 145mEq/L) are known as hypernatremia. The kidneys try to counteract this by secreting ADH to retain water. Hyperaldosteronism (increased aldosterone levels which increase sodium reabsorption) can be another cause of hypernatremia. Other causes can include excessive fluid loss, high salt intake and increased kidney reabsorption. Symptoms of hypernatremia include dehydration, fever or coma. Overall regulating electrolytes are vital to maintaining a balance in keeping homeostatic conditions. Acid base balance must also be sustained to enable maximum function of the kidneys. Both electrolytes and acid base balance are important components regulated by the kidney and lungs to some extent; and keeping equilibrium and balanced levels will be beneficial for a healthy functionality of the kidneys. By November of that year they had constructed plans and were prepared to build this new model known as Chicago Pile 1. Nuclear Engineering U.S. Department of Energy describes the model as, ―In addition to uranium and graphite, it contained control rods made of cadmium. Cadmium is a metallic element that absorbs neutrons. When the rods were in the pile, there were fewer neutrons to fission uranium atoms. This slowed the chain reaction. The regular oil companies could not compete with the Standard Oil Company, for they were trying to put smaller companies out of business. Rockefeller joined with competing companies in trust agreements. Participants in a trust turned their stock over to a group of trustees. This made it so you either had to join the bigger company or stop selling oil because it would not be profitable. One of these groups are nonvascular plants which include liverworts, hornworts, and mosses. The other two which are the focus of this paper are vascular seedless plants and vascular seed plants. The difference between vascular and nonvascular plants is that vascular plants have vascular tissue which enables them to grow up and be bigger than nonvascular plants. The difference between seedand seedless vascular plants is the presence of a seed. A seed is defined by the 10th Edition of Campbell Biology as an adaption of some terrestrial plants consisting of an embryo packaged along with a store of food within a protective coat. This includes anything from apple seeds to dandelion seeds. The absence or presence of a seed changes how a plantreproduces and also leads to different advantages and disadvantages to the plant. Seedless vascular plants include such plants as ferns, horsetails, club mosses, and whisk ferns. They live in wet environments because they require water for reproduction. They reproduce through the use of spores. Using ferns as an example the spores are found on the underside of the leaves. They are found in cases called sori and each sorus holds many spores which are haploid. Spores are released and they form gametophytes. There are several different causes of dementia including Alzheimer s disease (AD), vascular dementia, dementia with Lewy bodies, and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Hippocampal sclerosis of aging (HS aging) is prevalent in people of advance age, manifests with distinct neuropathological properties, and can be present with or without other dementia causes and vascular diseases [1]. Although HS aging is poorly understood, this phenomena may describe a proportion of non AD dementia [2]. The prevalence of HS aging pathology ranges from 5 to 30% in older people [3 6]. HS aging is generally diagnosed postmortem by the presence of TAR DNA binding protein 43 (TDP 43). The clinical signs and symptoms of HS aging are similar to those of AD with amnestic memory deficits [7, 8]. Because of the overlapping symptomology, HS aging is often clinically misdiagnosed as AD [7 9]. AD is characterized by accumulation of amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary tangles [10], while HS aging is pathologically characterized by neuronal loss with gliosis in the subiculum and Cornu Ammonis area 1 (CA1) region of the hippocampus, which can occur unilaterally or bilaterally [6, 7]. Genetic risk factors for HS aging have been recently identified. Unlike AD, the apolipoprotein E4 (APOE4) genotype is not a risk factor for HS aging [11]. Potassium channel subfamily M regulatory ... The 1920s era saw great political and social change to the United States society. The US economy blossomed, and the nation s total wealth more than doubled in the 1920s era. As a result of this social and political change as well as the success of the economy, transformed many Americans into a consumer society . The great economic success during the time period also created an excess of money to spend, which was used and spent aimlessly on unnecessary luxuries due to the fact that it was affordable and accessible. During this time period, some freedoms were expanded while others were restricted. Evidence of this is the ratification of the 18th amendment, banning the production and sale of alcohol. Although the purpose of the law was to prevent alcohol related crimes, the 18th amendment created a greater demand for alcohol. Renegades became common, and many people would purchase bootlegged alcohol through illegal manners. Criminals and gangsters viewed the prohibition as a method of making money fast, and created an organized system concentrated on manufacturing and distributing of alcoholic beverages. How similar governments are run is a good example of how something could be fundamentally the same, but in reality very different. Absolutism during the period of the Enlightenment can show many differences, even though the concept is the same. Absolutism is the form of governmentwhere power is concentrated in the hands of an individual. In an absolute monarchy, the monarch exhibits and exercises unrestrained, supreme power over the people. A strong centralized government is the key to the success of an absolute monarchy. Monarchs could create a strong government in their hands through various means, but all monarchs exercised the four characteristics of an absolute monarch no matter what they did to keep their country under control, but still powerful. The methods of exercising the four characteristics of absolutism had many similarities and differences. The contemporary monarchs, King Louis XIV of Franceand Tsar Peter the Great of Russia, display the similarities and differences that are demonstrated between absolute monarchs. Originally, it was expected that these two prices would be tied together, and that the drop would be quite temporary. However, the longer that coal has been down, the more likely it looks like it is down for the count so to speak. Many analysts believe that there has been an over production of coal in the past decade and the market has been saturated as a result. With every passing month that coal s prices stay low, and the supplies keep growing, it becomes less likely that things will turn around for the better in a permanent manner. Even with the rest of the world playing catchup with the transition to zero carbon intensive energy sources, the U.S. coal exports have been extremely low. Reconciliation And The Forgotten African American Written Assignment 3: Reconciliation and the Forgotten African American Jessica Howell History 2010 Dr. Michael Ramey December 3, 2015 Howell 2 The Campaign rhetoric of Horace Greeley in 1872, the religious revivals of D.L. Moody, and the yellow fever epidemic of 1878 influenced northern white attitudes regarding African Americans in the South in a way that actually had a negative impact. I had no idea these three events could have had the ability to, in a sense, set back the progress that could and should have been for African Americans. To me, it is not so much of an attitude whites had regarding African Americans as much as a complete erasure from their memories as to what should have been happening with regard to helping the African American population to properly integrate into American society. Horace Greeley had been a strong abolitionist for many years and was concerned about the newly freed African American people. Greeley had championed a program of economic assistance education and equal rights for African Americans (McPherson). However, Greeley seemed to abandon his original ideas and moved more towards a priority of reconciliation between the North and the South. The importance of news media ownership has been both a contemporary and historical issue that has had significant effects on the way in which the press operates and influences society. This essay examines why the ownership of the news media is of importance to society. In order to examine this fully the essay will discuss why news ownership affects free press and press censorship, why it can be seen to change the nature of political communication, and why is it is important that it affects the circuit of communication and the ways in which the public receive news. One reason why it matters who owns the news media is that is can be seen to affect the levels of free press within a state, determining therefore how regulated or censored information becomes. The freedom of the press is a factor that is highly influenced by the organisations and public figures that own the news media. Government ownership of the media, particularly authoritarian regimes, can be seen to limit the levels of free press a country has. Barker (2006, p. 5) argues that authoritarian regimes regularly try to censor or control the mass media s provision of vision and information . His argument therefore suggests that if the state has a strong control of the news media, they are more easily able to alter the information that the public receive. For example in North Korea, newspapers, such as the official party mouthpiece Rodong Sinmun, are all owned by the state (BBC, 2011). This therefore allows the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
