1. Personal Statement Television & Radio
I have always been enthusiastic about the world of Media. Television and Radio to me sticks out the
most. I am a very creative and outgoing person. One of the reasons why I chose Television and
radio is because no matter what the world of television and radio will always be there. It will never
disappear. I am very keen and wanting to learn more about the world of television and radio.
Whether its production work or engineering work. I am very passionate about television and radio.
This is why I became a media student at college because I wanted to learn more about it. I was
always fascinated how the media did things and how they accomplish certain things. By studying
Television and Radio I feel I will be able to develop and enhance my interest for the subject as well
as expanding in what I already know about it. I want to gain new skills that will enable me to develop
and progress within the world of television and radio but at the same time enjoying the opportunity
of studying the subject.
During my media course at college I have been involved in different aspects of media. Television and
radio were the ones that I loved. I have studied media at GCSE and BTEC. On the course that I took
in college I worked on producing a lot media projects including creating and airing on the college
radio station, producing advertisements and music video production. From my education at school it
helped me decide what I wanted to do in University. Television and radio projects have always been
my main choices. During my time at college was when I realised how much I wanted to do Television
and Radio. Knowing that the opportunities out there in the world of Television and Radio are very
challenging is what motivated me to work hard. Nowadays we see ITV, E4, Channel 4 and the BBC
that are expanding within the production of television and radio. From there we can see today that
the world of Television and Radio is expanding worldwide. I am passionate to know how the
production of television and radio work and how I can enhance my skills within television and radio.
I’d like to think that I gave a positive attitude towards my years of studying in school and college. I
have always been enthusiastic about Television and Radio. In school, creative and productive work is
what I feel happy and confident in working on. In school I was always producing videos, voice blogs
and media performances. During my years in studying Media in college I have always been confident
in working in the production and creative side of the course, preferably Television and Radio. In
college I had a lunch time radio show where I broadcasted news and played music throughout the
campus. Also I participated in producing and creating music videos. All of the creative projects that I
have done in college have enhanced my skills within the world of television and radio. Even though it
was very educating for me the most important thing is that I loved it all in general.
My outside interest span on a wide of variety of things, I enjoy watching television programmes,
watching films, socialising with my friends etc. Even in my spare time I am always looking into the
world of Television and Radio. I have a part time job where I work in a rugby stadium. This has
developed my communication skills and it shows that I am reliable, organised and trustworthy. All
of the skills that I have gathered and developed in my part time job I can bring towards my course of
Television and Radio. Skills such as communication skills, productive work and being punctual.
2. Media is such a huge part of both my personal life and academic life. I truly feel that the placement
for this course is where I belong. It would help me in my future career ambitions in the world of
media.
