Living V/S Existing: Notes from my coaching journey -Bimal Rath Bimal Rath
Reflections from my journey as a coach
Just clocked 1000 hours of coaching and was penning down my own learning as reflection. Needless to say, the learning has been immense, working with a variety of individuals, ranging from CXOs to senior level executives in corporations.
Over the years, it was useful to read up a few varied authors--to expand my own perspective, and often as a consequence of a coaching conversation.
Here is the pick of the thoughts that have remained with me, and must say have helped me grow as a coach..nothing new, but worth a re-mention.

The self-help industry has become an entire entity itself. Whilst some ideas are questionable, the movement itself is a worthy cause.
Taking better care of yourself shouldn’t be contested; it should be wide practice. There are more businesses and individuals exploring the market than ever before. And the overall message of self-help has a positive impact.
It’s clear that men and women face different challenges in the modern day. Some more so than others, and some that neither sex can relate to. Whilst I don’t believe that great books are subjective to either men or women alone, there are some that will be better suited to each.

Rather than a job title, a digital nomad is a lifestyle. To be exact, a digital nomad is an individual who leverages technology to be able to work from anywhere in the world that has an internet connection.
On top of the expenses, college may not be an option to consider due to work, family, and other conflicting diversions that adult life brings. Luckily, there are options outside of universities to receive higher education.

Welcome to the Program Your Destiny course. In this course, we will be learning the technology of personal transformation, neuroassociative conditioning (NAC) as pioneered by Tony Robbins. NAC is used to deprogram negative neuroassociations that are causing approach avoidance and instead reprogram yourself with positive neuroassociations that lead to being approach automatic. In doing so, you change your destiny, moving towards unlocking the hypersocial self within, the true self free from fear and operating from a place of personal power and love.
2. I’ve been able to launch a business within the
industry that has graciously allowed me to
pursue a luxury lifestyle with my family.
However, I can’t take credit for all of my
business success, because I do have a quite a
few personal development speakers and
authors I look up to. Below are just three of
these influencers that have had a
tremendous impact on my life.
WITH A STRONG
PASSION FOR
PERSONAL
DEVELOPMENT,
3. Considered to be “America’s Foremost Business
Philosopher,” Jim Rohn was a personal
development legend for more than four decades.
He is most known for authoring books such as “7
Strategies for Wealth & Happiness” and “The Art
of Exceptional Living,” which are both among my
personal favorite books.
Jim Rohn has definitely had a positive impact on
me, since his insights have reached me halfway
across the world! With the ability to bring
extraordinary insights to ordinary life, Jim
focused on positive human behaviors that can
affect personal and business performance, both
of which I’ve used personally.

5. Well known for his book “Think and Grow Rich,”
this self-help book (which is also among one of
my favorites) put Napoleon Hill on the map
because it became one of the top 10 best selling
self-help books of all time.
Napoleon’s philosophy stresses that anyone can
succeed in any line of work, and can do anything
they can imagine. It’s no wonder that this book
became so popular, because at the time it was
published, America’s Great Depression was in
full swing and people were looking for a way out.
NAPOLEON HILL
6. “WHATEVER THE MIND OF
MAN CAN CONCEIVE AND
BELIEVE, IT CAN ACHIEVE.”
My favorite quote:
7. In my late teen years, I was going through a
difficult time in my life. That was, until, I read
“The Celestine Prophecy” by James Redfield. This
eye-opening novel was able to point me in the
right direction of life and taught me to realign my
mindset, get focused, improve my work ethic,
and never give up.
As an author and therapist, James’ book left such
an impression on me that he helped me change
my life forever — I was able to become a
millionaire by 34! You can read my other blog
about James Redfield’s book here.

8. “WE CAN BECOME
INSPIRED TO SHAPE A
HIGHER, MORE IDEAL
FUTURE, AND WHEN WE
DO, MIRACLES HAPPEN.”
My favorite quote:
9. a successful personal development life coach
