Mission Statement

✦   I am a young, intelligent and enthusiastic
    young woman who is excited about her future
    in the Public Relations industry. I am new to
    the game of social media and need to warm up
    to my new role as a future expert in the field.
Goals/Objectives

✦   Get myself out there, learn more about
    myself through searching my passions, have
    others learn more about me through writing
    about/posting my passions. Develop and
    become comfortable with my online
    presence. Have fun while doing it.
Key Messages
Strengths

-weak online presence (like REALLY weak)
-slow to change (more prone to update my
 facebook than my twitter)
-skeptical of the “interverse” - who is reading
 my stuff? Is it relevant? Appropriate?
 Interesting enough?
Opportunities
✦   my classmates and teachers introduce me to
    new things every day
✦   my growing knowledge of social media is
    breaking down the walls built against
    change
✦   I’m curious, I’m willing to learn about all the
    new apps, platforms, blogs, people
✦   I feel that I am on the cutting-edge with the
    things I am learning. I can enter the
    workforce with a wealth of knowledge

✦   Staying power: this is an assignment, am i
    going to be motivated enough to keep it up
    after the semester ends?
✦   low feedback: what if no one cares about my
    brand?
✦   originality: I aim to be original, what if my
    brand gets lost in a sea of others just like
    me?

✦   update and search twitter on a daily basis to
    learn interesting information that is related
    to things that I am interested in. Share

    constantly updates me on the people and
    places and things I am interested in

✦   Tweet something new everyday; something relevant to
    my life and my career choice
✦   Find mentors in the social media world who will
    inspire me to develop my brand further
✦   Become comfortable enough with my brand presence
    by the end of the course so that I will continue to grow
    after it is finished
