Last February, Serge Brigot gave a conference on PCD - Packaging Of Perfume Cosmetics & Design about "A new white colour in Cosmetic Industry:Trivalent chromium (Cr(III))." http://www.pcd-congress.com Il existe plusieurs technologies pour chromer une pièce electrochimiquement,en effet sur une pièce sur laquelle on a déjà déposé du cuivre puis du nickel ,il est possible de chromer à partir d'une solution de chrome hexavalent c’est-à-dire de la forme 6+ du chrome ou à partir d'une solution de chrome trivalent (forme 3+ du chrome). Dans les deux ,le métal déposé est chrome au degré d'oxydation 0. La première technique est la plus ancienne et communément exploitée dans le monde ,la deuxième technologie est plus recente . Le chrome sous sa forme 6+ est classe CMR alors que le 3+ n'est pas classe . La couleur du métal déposé (le chrome en l'occurrence dans les deux cas) est dit blanc bleute dans le premier cas ,alors qu'il est plus blanc dans le second. Il convient de tester ces deux dépôts métalliques afin de déterminer si les différences de comportement sont acceptables ,ce que l'on peut présager dans le cadre de la Parfumerie Cosmétique.

10. Conclusions
• Sustainable developement,important reduction of the
impact on the environment.
• Cost of plating a few higher.
• Important step in the reduction of CMR substances.
• The etching step in the attack of ABS is still using the
Cr(VI) form ,but we can be hopeful of a good outcome in
that regard.
