Introduction
Nineties was a difficult decade for both the urban and rural poor women as women were rapidly losing their livelihood base due to structural adjustment programmes and macro economic stabilization policies. Reduction in budgetary allocation for social sector (privatization of education and health as well as dismantling of public distribution system) and privatization of essential survival needs made lives of poor women unbearable. Draught in several parts of India and liberalization of agrarian market added fuel to fire with increasing numbers of farmers’ suicides and starvation deaths. It was in this backdrop, that women’s leadership in microfinance thro’ Self Help Groups (SHGs) came to the fore to provide safety net to the poorest of the poor women initially in the four Southern States- Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamilnadu and during the 21st century all over the country.

Problems and Prospects of Woman Entrepreneurship – A Review of Literature
Any nation, to grow today in the world of intense competition, requires entrepreneurs at the core of the economic development. Entrepreneurial activities and entrepreneurship has been dominated by males since ages. However, in the era of information technology, the women have become more aware and better educational facilities have enabled them to venture into this male dominated space. The women today have emerged as a key player in economic development of the nations. However this transformation of society is far from over and the women entrepreneurs not only face difficulties while starting up an enterprise but also during the running phase. Globally, they have become a key player in sustaining both social development and economic growth. However, in a country like India where almost 50% of population is made up of women, the number of enterprises run by women entrepreneurs is only 7.36% or out of 361.76 Lakh enterprises in the MSME sector, only 26.61 Lakh have women at the top. There are a number of socio-economic hurdles faced by the women while they attempt to venture into setting up and running their own enterprises. Hence, the paper discusses the status of the Women Entrepreneurs and their importance. Also, an attempt is made to identify the challenges faced by these women entrepreneurs, by reviewing various literatures and provide some suggestion for overcoming these obstacles

Introduction
Nineties was a difficult decade for both the urban and rural poor women as women were rapidly losing their livelihood base due to structural adjustment programmes and macro economic stabilization policies. Reduction in budgetary allocation for social sector (privatization of education and health as well as dismantling of public distribution system) and privatization of essential survival needs made lives of poor women unbearable. Draught in several parts of India and liberalization of agrarian market added fuel to fire with increasing numbers of farmers’ suicides and starvation deaths. It was in this backdrop, that women’s leadership in microfinance thro’ Self Help Groups (SHGs) came to the fore to provide safety net to the poorest of the poor women initially in the four Southern States- Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamilnadu and during the 21st century all over the country.

Problems and Prospects of Woman Entrepreneurship – A Review of Literature
Any nation, to grow today in the world of intense competition, requires entrepreneurs at the core of the economic development. Entrepreneurial activities and entrepreneurship has been dominated by males since ages. However, in the era of information technology, the women have become more aware and better educational facilities have enabled them to venture into this male dominated space. The women today have emerged as a key player in economic development of the nations. However this transformation of society is far from over and the women entrepreneurs not only face difficulties while starting up an enterprise but also during the running phase. Globally, they have become a key player in sustaining both social development and economic growth. However, in a country like India where almost 50% of population is made up of women, the number of enterprises run by women entrepreneurs is only 7.36% or out of 361.76 Lakh enterprises in the MSME sector, only 26.61 Lakh have women at the top. There are a number of socio-economic hurdles faced by the women while they attempt to venture into setting up and running their own enterprises. Hence, the paper discusses the status of the Women Entrepreneurs and their importance. Also, an attempt is made to identify the challenges faced by these women entrepreneurs, by reviewing various literatures and provide some suggestion for overcoming these obstacles

Ms Jessi Fu started an international coffee business with her graduate school classmates, drawing on her experience of working for an airline. Tsai Meng Yu
Mr. Cai Mengyu is a Ph.D. graduate from the Institute of Environmental Engineering, National Sun Yat-Sen University and currently serves as a counselor for the Kaohsiung City Government. Cai served as the Director of the Environmental Protection Bureau, Kaohsiung City Government from 2015 to 2018. During his tenure, he had been committed to various air pollution reduction measures, and promoted various tightened standards, total control, pollution reduction in the port area, and increased subsidies for replacement of old and high-pollution vehicles, etc. In terms of water quality management, Cai strengthened inspection and control to reduce environmental water pollution, revitalized polluted land, and promoted green remediation technologies. For environmental sanitation, Cai reinforced waste reduction and resource recycling and promoted environmental education and other multi-pronged measures. Counselor Cai is an expert in environmental protection. In the past, he led the Environmental Protection Bureau staff to improve the environmental quality of Kaohsiung City, which was proven to be one of the best performing bureaus in Taiwan in the field of environmental protection. Cai will continue to contribute his environmental expertise, assist in the municipal administration, and provide professional advice in the future as an important aide to the mayor, in order to improve the environmental quality in Kaohsiung and create a green and fresh harbor city.
Ching Fu Chen
Professor Ching-Fu Chen, PhD.is the Department Chair of Department of Transportation and Communication Management Science, National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan. He served as the director-general of Transport bureau, Kaohsiung City Government (KCG), Taiwan from 2013.2 to 2018.7. During his term at KCG, he successfully carried out the privatization project of the city-own Bus Administration of Kaohsiung city in 2013 and subsequently a series of bus reform strategies. In close collaboration with ICLEI, he is currently leading the project ‘2017 Ecomobility World Festival’ which will take place at Kaohsiung in October, 2017.
Dr. Chen has been in academia for two decades as a professor of transport management at Nan-Hua University and National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan. His research concerns urban mobility, transport economic analysis, and tourism management. He received outstanding research award from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Taiwan and has published a number publications in main-stream academic journals such as Transportation Research Part A, Transportation Research Part F, Accident Analysis and Prevention, Journal of Travel Research and Tourism Management, etc.
Victorino Aquitania
As Regional Director of ICLEI Southeast Asia Secretariat, he has more than 28 years professional experience working with local governments on sustainable urban development, climate adaptation and mitigation, Local Agenda 21, waste management, as well as sustainable urban transport policies. During his career he has been involved in more than 30 international projects, including several research activities. He develops strategies and programs around localizing regional-national directions for sustainable development and poverty reduction; manages a team of experts and consultants within the Southeast Asia region where ICLEI operates. Works directly with external support agencies and national governments to develop and deploy all of ICLEI's campaigns and projects in Southeast Asia. Keller Wang
Dr. Wang Hao holds a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Cologne, Germany and is currently the Director of the Research Institute of Social Enterprise of Feng Chia University. After the 921 Earthquake, he submitted an article to the Der Spiegel Weekly in Germany, which kicked off his advocacy for social innovation and corporate responsibility in the next 20 years. Wang served as an EMBA supervisor, Consultant at the Credit Union League and the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families, Director of B Corporation, and a team leader at a Youth Development Administration’s international group and a social enterprise delegation to Germany. Wang participated in and hosted the APEC Renewable Energy Innovation Project Competition. He believes that interdisciplinary learning to be the key to social innovation. Wang mentioned the happiest experience in his life as hiking the Peruvian plateau to interview Inca herders, for purpose of conducting a series of social enterprise MOOCs sponsored by the Ministry of Education.
Corey Lian
Mr. Lian, Tingkai is an active serial entrepreneur. From medical and pharmaceutical to fashion industries, Lian has always held a macro perspective on social and business issues. Recognizing that everyone must act to defend the environment and fight climate change, Lian founded "DOMI " to provide easy and effective energy saving solutions, and promote social justice in combating the impact of climate change. DOMI was the first business in Taiwan being awarded the international certification of B Corporation. In 2015, 2016 and 2018, DOMI was listed as one of the best companies in the world by the international headquarters of B Corporation, and has consecutively won the "Best Company in the World” award. Recognizing the urgent needs to turn around the business mentality of Taiwanese enterprises, Lian co-founded the Asia Pacific B Corp Association (APBCA) and started the B Lab Taiwan.Before Lian returned to Taiwan, he majored in biotechnology at the University of Alberta, Canada, took the Chiropractic Program at the Life University in Atlanta, USA, and studied fashion management at Domus Academy in Milan, Italy. He then completed an EMBA degree at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He was invited to teach as a part-time assistant professor at the Public Policy Research Center in Feng Chia University and Fu Jen Catholic University. He also teaches social innovation and UN-SDGS courses at National Taiwan University.
Gerry Higgins
Gerry is Managing Director of Social Enterprise World Forum and Director or International Enterprise at Community Enterprise in Scotland (CEIS). These dual roles were created in January 2019 as Social Enterprise World Forum required more capacity to support its ambitious programme to build a global social enterprise movement and after 13 years as CEO of CEIS, Gerry wanted to focus on the international dimensions of social enterprise in Scotland. Gerry is also a Director at Social Value Lab, CEIS Ayrshire, DSL Business Finance, Social Enterprise UK and Societi. Gerry has a BA in Education and a MSc in Business Studies and was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of Social Enterprise UK in 2017.
Gerry has many years’ experience in developing and leading social enterprises and works with government agencies and third sector partners internationally to create supportive social enterprise ecosystems. His current work includes oversight of major programmes to support social enterprise development and to contribute to social enterprise policy at home and abroad. Gerry is committed to social justice and has spent over 30 years working in the social enterprise sector to assist individuals, communities and enterprises to fulfil their potential.
Joseph Jisong Lim
Joe is the co-organizer of Citypreneurs, an SDGs startup competition hosted by UN agencies and city governments. He currently serves as the Senior Partnerships and Innovation Officer at the World Federation of UN Associations, and teaches on problem solving, impact business models, creative thinking and sustainable development for startups, corporations and universities. He is an adjunct professor at Yonsei University, and serves on the innovation advisory board for various public and private companies.

11June 2024. An online pre-engagement session was organized on Tuesday June 11 to introduce the Science Policy Lab approach and the main components of the conceptual framework.
About 40 experts from around the globe gathered online for a pre-engagement session, paving the way for the first SASi-SPi Science Policy Lab event scheduled for June 18-19, 2024 in Malmö. 1.) Introduction
Our Movement is not new; it is the same as it was for Freedom, Justice, and Equality since we were labeled as slaves. However, this movement at its core must entail economics.
2.) Historical Context
This is the same movement because none of the previous movements, such as boycotts, were ever completed. For some, maybe, but for the most part, it’s just a place to keep your stable until you’re ready to assimilate them into your system. The rest of the crabs are left in the world’s worst parts, begging for scraps.
3.) Economic Empowerment
Our Movement aims to show that it is indeed possible for the less fortunate to establish their economic system. Everyone else – Caucasian, Asian, Mexican, Israeli, Jews, etc. – has their systems, and they all set up and usurp money from the less fortunate. So, the less fortunate buy from every one of them, yet none of them buy from the less fortunate. Moreover, the less fortunate really don’t have anything to sell.
4.) Collaboration with Organizations
Our Movement will demonstrate how organizations such as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, National Urban League, Black Lives Matter, and others can assist in creating a much more indestructible Black Wall Street.
5.) Vision for the Future
Our Movement will not settle for less than those who came before us and stopped before the rights were equal. The economy, jobs, healthcare, education, housing, incarceration – everything is unfair, and what isn’t is rigged for the less fortunate to fail, as evidenced in society.
6.) Call to Action
Our movement has started and implemented everything needed for the advancement of the economic system. There are positions for only those who understand the importance of this movement, as failure to address it will continue the degradation of the people deemed less fortunate.
