2. RAJA YOGA
It consists of ASHTANGA YOGA.
The eight limbs of yoga are yama (abstinences), niyama
(observances), asana (yoga postures), pranayama (breath control),
pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses), dharana (concentration),
dhyana (meditation) and samadhi (absorption).
3. KARMA YOGA
• Sanchit Karma- the accumulated karma(good and bad) from your
past life.
• Prabdha Karma – part of your karma which affects your present
• Agami Karma- your present karma which will affect your future
5. BHAKTI YOGA
• PARA BHAKTI- it is the higher form of devotion. Yogi strives for union with the
divine and liberation from the life – death- rebirth cycle. It grows every moment. It
is done without any expectation. It is beyond the gunas.
• APARA BHAKTI- it is the lower form of devotion. People use external items for
doing bhakti. It is done to gain something.
o Satvik- the person tries to know god.
o Rajsic – the person desires for something
o Tamsic – the person desires to harm someone.
7. GYANA YOGA
• SUBHECHA- this is the beginning stage of wisdom. It means the desire to
discover the truth and to study the Sanskrit texts .
• VICHARNA- this is the second stage . It means it question, to explore, to
contemplate on the principles of non-dualism.
• TANUMANSI- it is 3rd stage in which you have understood all the necessary
knowledge . It causes subtling your mind. Your mind becomes as thin as
thread (tanu- means thread) and remove the external stimulus to focus on the
internal .
8. GYANA YOGA
• SATTVA PATI- in the 4rth stage, the world appears like a dream and your
karma begins to dissolve . A yogi will view all the things in the universe
equally in this stage .
• ASAM SHAKTI- you become detatched and selfless and experience deep
states of bliss.
• PDARTH BHAVNA- (spiritual vision) it means to understand the truth, and
understand the nature and form of brahma.
9. GYANA YOGA
• TURIYA- ( supreme freedom) you are united in super consciousness and
attain moksha.
