5. BOECrystal Report Interface for Portal users (SPA Portal)
 Successfullycreatedandimplementedabrandnew dynamicSPA Portal whichisfullyintegrated
withBusinessObjectEnterprise (BOE).Anyfolders,reports,links,changedoraddedinBOE,will
automaticallyappearonthe portal withoutmakinganychangestothe code.The userinterface
of the portal looksverysimilartothe one of Windows8 or the tabletenvironment(see below).
The informationthatthe userswants,will be justaclick away.Everythingwillbe icon-driven
and withjustone-clickthe userwillbe presentedwithinformationorthe report thathe or she
wants.The portal consistsof 4 areas: message board,dashboard,reportandapplication.
Administrative usersare allowedtomanage whatobjectstopresenttothe usersbymodifying
pre-definedXMLfilesaccordingly.The portal alsoallowsuserstoeasilyfindandschedule any
BOE reportsusingexistingBOEfunctionalitiesanduserinterfaceswhichthe usersare already
familiarwithandasa resultthere isnoneedtore-trainthe users.Some of the neat featuresof
the portal are the following:(1) easilypublishanyobjects(website,application,links,and
messages),(2) abilitytotapintoCindy’s55” TV to see the KPIswithouthavingtolaunchthe KPI
reports,(3) the lookandfeel of the portal can be easilycustomizedbythe usersvia XML files.
The portal isdesignedtosupportanyapplicationssuchaswebapplicationsandclient=server
applications(e.g.M3,Stop& Zone database maintenance system,etc…)
