PROJECT MANAGER
WELLS FARGO - 11/2015 - 12/2015
Solving problem tickets/customer issuesworking on thecreditapproval/denial system and ensuring theinfrastructureof the
system wasstable. If therewereany problemsI worked with theinfrastructureareato troubleshoot problems.

Software/Application Project Analusisand someManagement
- Managed many software/applicationprojects, including softwareupgradesthat could potentially affectcustomers.
TheprojectswereWeb based, Mainframebased, and other applicationsthat weredeveloped internally andothers
which werepurchased from avendor.
o Two projectsthat I wastheBAforwas managing affected approximately 6,000 ATM’sfor thepostage
stamp increases. I coordinated theproject to updateallATM’swith thenew stamp andfeepriceinboth
2013 and 2014.
3 | P a g e
o U.S. BankATM’sareon threedifferent softwareversionswhich madetheprojecttricky asall
updatesto theversionshad to bedonesimultaneously.
o My team included membersfromvariousareasof thecountry from Portland, ORto Irving, TX
and St. Paul, MN.
o These projectsalso required coordinating with ATM serviceproviders(Loomis, Diebold, NCR
etc.) to ensurethat everything wascompleted at thesametime. Both theseprojectswere
completed successfully withno issues.
o My teams consisted of approximately 30 people.
o Debit Card marketing, an internally developed Mainframetoolfor clients(creditunionsfor example), to
attempt to maketheir customersusetheir debit cardsmore, thusmaking thecredit union moreprofitable
by increasing interchangeand surchargerevenue.
o Thisproject required thecreationof(until then) unheard ofnew reportingand analysisfor the
client credit unionsor smallto medium sized banks. It wasnotaquickturnaround projectby
any means (it tooktwo years) but wasawonderfulsuccess.
o U.S. Bankand client revenuewentup greater than 50% for theinterchangerevenue. The
product isstillheavily used today by smaller institutions, asthey arenot affected by Dodd-Frank
restrictionson interchange.
o Thiswasby far and away onethemost excitingprojectsI worked on, asI designed thereporting
and handled thesecurity aspectsso aclientwould only receivewhat belonged to them. Data
security isair tightand I madesurenomistakesweremade.
o Semi-annual changesthat networksmake(Visa, MasterCard, Pulseetc.) that requireinternal coding for the
softwarethat authorizestransactions. Changescan besomethingsmall orsomething major, asin an
entirely new product that thenetworkwantsto offer.
o These projectshavedeadlinesthat cannot bemissed and astheproject manager, I had toget
theproper resourcesto workon them whether they werebusy with somethingelseor not. I
havea pleasant way of persuading peopleto get it done. Allmandates(9) that I haveworked
on in thelast threeyearswent in without any issues. I received awardsforgetting these
completed successfully, astherehad been problemsin thepast beforeI waschosen to handle
them.
o Managed manyprojects for Mainframe,Base24and Hogan, wherenew functionality was added to
applications, or mandates had tobe met at a designatedtime. My project teams consisted ofeight to40
people, depending on the project.
o Managed the conversion fromanapplication called OutsideView(a userfriendly version ofTandemscreens)
to a Web-Based product. The reason for theprojectwas data security, as OutsideView had very littleas the
screens contained customer-sensitivedata.
o When U.S. Bankowned Piper Jaffray,I was a business analyst on a project fromtheold trading platform to a
new one called"Beta", which to myknowledgeis still used today. The project required extensiveUAT
testing as it was a completely newsystem. This project took morethan two years.
o Worked with the vendor's NCR, Diebold andWincoron Gasper, which is an ATMand POS network
monitoring software. It involved upgrading theapplication to a WIN2008 platformfrom a WIN2000
platform. The upgradeincludednewfeatures thathad to betested thoroughly, as well as extensive
regressiontesting soit wouldbe seamless to the customers. The team consistedof80 peoplefrom allover
the country. The projecttook1-1/2years and was implemented successfully. The projectalso included
sun-setting theoldsystem.
o In working on these projects included testing and analysis on Hogan including CAMS and ODS andthe
applications that interfacedwith Hogan.
o
ExtensiveDataWarehouseExperience
a) Thefirst largedatawarehousemapped several legacy systemsto anew Oracleapplication/datawarehouse. The
warehousenow housesbillionsof transactionsformorethan 1,500+clients(smaller banksand credit unionsthat
cannot afford their own authorization system. Thisrequired extensivetesting, aswell asdatasecurity measuresthat
only clientscould seetheir data. Thisproject tookapproximately two yearsto completeand isstillused extensively
today.
4 | P a g e
b) Thesecond largedatawarehouseprojectwassomewhat similar but included only ATMsand POS equipment
owned by US Bank. It also required mappingmany fieldsfrom legacy to theOracledatabase. Thisdatabase
housesmillionsof transactionsand isutilized primarily by internal users. Bothdatabasesrequired new user
friendly Windowsbased interfaceswhich weredeveloped by my team.
I can elaborateon both oftheseprojectsimmensely but thereistoo much detail toputhere. I would toexplainfurther
with adiscussion.
InfrastructureBusiness Analyst and occasional Project Management
o An infrastructureproject that wascompleted successfully wasmoving5,000 ATM’sfrom an acquired
company to an enterprisesystem of ATM monitoring. Thesystem detectsif an ATM hasacash jam, a
receipt fault or whether themachinehasbeen disconnected fromthenetwork. Thesystem then
automatically dispatchesan ATM serviceprovider.
o Thisproject wascompleted in phasesover thecourseof ayear and ahalf, astherearedifferent
typesof clientswho U.S. BankprocessesATM and POS (Point-of-sale) transactionsfor. For
iinstanceCredit UnionATM’sarehandled differently thansmall financial institutionsorISO’s
(Independent SalesOrganizations; (i.e. theATM’syou find in abowling alley or bar).
o Theproject went very smoothly and wasunnoticed by any client, other than theirservicewas
much better and vendor costswerelowered forthebankand theclients.
o Thisproject team included around50 peoplefrom internal areasaswell asoutsidevendors.
o Another largeinfrastructure/Applicationproject included Being theBA for upgradingtheATM monitoring
system for thebankto anew version, which included new servers, new locationsfor thehardware, new IP
and analog circuitsand modemsand all newconnectionsto thenew system.
o Thisteam consisted of around80people(not alwaysat thesametime) and required avery
detailed project plan, asmost of my larger projectsdid.
o Unlikethepostagestamp increaseprojects, I used thewaterfall approach to managing this
project and it worked wonderfully.
o Included in thisproject wasreplication (St. Pauland Portland) asthesystem hadn’t had
replication before.
o Not onecustomer wasaffected by thefinal implementation andthesystem worked beautifully.
o Therewassome minor cleanupafter theproject, shutting downtheold servers, circuitsetc. and
attempting to redeploy theequipmentbut theproject went very well.
- Business Analyst

o Hogan implementation
o When thebankimplemented Hogan in theearly 1990’sI wasbusinessanalyst formakingsure
everything statement—wisewascorrect. Theproject lasted about threeyearsand literally
included hundredsofpeople. Although I played asmall part, I got theknowthesystem very
well, and used it daily for researchingcustomer accountswhen aproblem cameup. Thiswasnot
in an external customer facingrole, butinternal.
o Testing and implantation of variousMainframeand aspectsof Enterprisebanking applications.
o Experiencewith Hogan expandsapproximately 22 yearsin many aspectsof theapplication,
particularly datavalidationusing test scriptsand doingtheactual QA testing.
o Wasthebusinessanalyst on oneof thebiggest databaseand reportingprojectsthebankhasdone, at least
in theATM and Debit division.
5 | P a g e
o Thedatabase includesall debit and ATMcard (proprietary) transactionsfor both Retail
transactionsand theElan subsidiary.
o My responsibilitiesincluded writing therequirementsfor thevery largeprojects, mapping the
fieldsfrom thenativesystem into thenew Oraclesystem, and testing thefinal user-facing
product.
o TheRetail and Elan databasesareseparatedatabasesand aretwo separatecustomer facing
interfaces.
o Thiswasoneof themost exciting thingsI’veever worked on and am very proudof it tothisday
and feel lucky to havebeen asked to betheanalyst. It isnow being used by thousandsof
external and internal users, and Ididn’t missanythingduringthetesting phase. I did findissues
and added them to my issueslog but allwerefixed and re-tested beforetherollout.
o Responsiblefor datamappingfrom several legacy systemsto OracleforaDataWarehousewith
several new user interfaces. Thisincluded recognizinggapsbetween thenew system and the
old. In addition, therewasalso thecreation ofmany ad-hoc reportingproceduresusing
BusinessObjects, Cognos, WebFocusand Siebel.
o Helped with theimplementationinto thenew system, coordinating effortswithseveral different
development departmentsand thebusinessline.
o During the timewhilebackat thebank, Iplayed adualroleasaproject manager andbusinessanalyst,
depending on thesizeof theproject.

The warehousenow housesbillionsof transactionsformorethan 1,500+clients(smaller banksand credit unionsthat cannot afford their own authorization system. Thisrequired extensivetesting, aswell asdatasecurity measuresthat only clientscould seetheir data. Thisproject tookapproximately two yearsto completeand isstillused extensively today.
