Presentation Inspiration
KineticFuture: Leadership Communications Coaching

Passion Sells. But I’m Not Bothered.
What if you simply don’t feel a passion for the subject you’re presenting about?

You need to find some! If the audience picks up that you’re not bothered, they will switch off. And
you will not achieve the result you want.

Passion sells. It can be a quiet intensity. It can be loud but it does need to be real. The audience
always knows. And there lies the problem. It’s very hard to fake it.

You’ll notice that when someone is really passionate about a subject, their communication style
changes – they become more animated, more powerful and more engaging. Think about how you
talk about football, fashion or things that annoy you with your friends. That’s what you’re looking
  for in your professional presentations.

  Find Your Motivation

To give a genuine passionate presentation, you need to find your motivation. If you really can’t
find anything in the subject to thrill you, find something within the presentation or situation that will
help you raise the stakes in your own mind and give you that oomph. Then inspire yourself using
that motivation. Here are some personal examples used by our clients:

      - I want to help people by sharing this knowledge. It’s not about impressing.
      - It’s important that we develop a coaching and sharing culture
      - I want to impress the boss
      - I want to win
      - I want to increase the budget
      - If I can pull this off, I’ll get promoted or the new job I want
      - I want this decision or I’ll have to make 3 people redundant
      - I can demonstrate I’m a good presenter
      - I want to work on this type of project
