My name is Isabelle, and I manage an organization called the Business/Higher Education Roundtable. An initiative of the Business Council of Canada, we represent CEOs from 14 of Canada’s biggest companies, and the presidents of 14 of Canada’s leading colleges and universities.
BHER’s two guiding pillars are work-integrated learning and research partnerships. Our goal: for 100 per cent of Canadian undergrads to have some form of work-integrated learning experience prior to graduation.
By “work-integrated learning” we mean:
Co-ops
Internships
Apprenticeships
Advanced research projects
Field studies
Bootcamps and hackathons
Incubators
Mandatory professional practices
Pilots in:
FS
Mining
Start-ups
Adv manufacturing
Construction
