Critical Thinking: Explore the philosophy and history behind
the American legal system
Practical: Future interaction with the legal system (civil),
public speaking
Topics:
Intro to Law and Justice: Philosophical origins of law and
justice, history of American law
Civil Law: contracts (marriage), property (leaseholds and
ownership), torts
Constitutional Law: Bill of rights, landmark court cases,
current controversy
Criminal Law: Criminal justice system, criminal procedure
(warrants, rights of the accused, jury duty)
